Should Jinxy go True Neutral?
« on: November 06, 2010, 08:31:21 PM »
Greetings, derived from the thread Regarding Poison, I intend to understand the following regarding Jinxy's RP situation.

Her parents teachings were always focused on the self-interest. They taught her all they knew and all they could teach so that she could better face the world. Being as curious as she is, and loving the simple day by day fight through creation and machinations, she now faces the world alone, on her own, exploiting all the amusement of life from being a trickster engineer. She doesn't hold the least respect to her foes since she has found she'll get no respect from them (for example after being hunted by Orcs while just trying to get corn... why would she care about them?). So she admires the capacity of Goran to create things... but instead of using them to make the world better in a "good" way, she wants to use this engineering capacity to make the world better in her own way, and enjoy every last bit of it (which includes using poison).

Would that be enough to justify an alignment change? I can't RP who she isn't o.O

True Neutral is the best way to go with this.  Nature allows for poisons. Spiders aren't evil, they just use what's readily available.  A good character would attempt to "rise above" poison use.  Neutral is more pragmatic... it understands that the enemy will use such tactics, so why not fight fire with fire?  What does it matter if a tyrant dies with a goblet in his hand or a sword?  This moral ambivalence is integral to a neutral character.

Makes all better sense to me :) think I'll submit an alignment change to True Neutral soon enough!

Something to be aware of: the Approval team wants to see the capability to play the approved alignment before allowing the character to switch to a new one.

I'm sorry but this consisted in a wrong alignment submission from the start I believe. Jinxy never reached to have reasons to behave as a Neutral Good.

As her submission stated, she was taught under the guideline of the self. She was taught to be resourceful without boundaries and that includes, as lonnarin stated, "What does it matter if a tyrant dies with a goblet in his hand or a sword?".

The Neutral Good alignment doesn't actually fit her submission now that I know better its limitations. Her father was a Shadonite and although her mother taught her the engineering ways to make life better as Goran approves, Jinxy learned to fight/enjoy the day by day on the "take your kid to work" method that her father had, typically obtaining Neutrality from both her parents (let's say mother was Neutral Good and her father Chaotic Neutral, perhaps).

I'll pass this request to the submissions forum.
