(Yet another) Newbie Intro thread

Title speaks for itself O.o
I've played both NWN and PnP dungeons and dragons for while, and recently discovered this on the source code lookup on
Mmoworkshop
, so I googled it, and found this!
By no means and I "good" at roleplaying, so I apologize in advance for any people who have to deal with my...less than average...skills.
Anyway, I have enjoyed what I have seen in my few days a visitor, and plan to stay

Now, before anyone can tell you different, I'm a nice guy, and not at all inclined towards slicing apart new character submissions with my +3 Keen Editorial Quill of Red Ink, laughing madly while I... *hem*
That is to say, welcome to Layonara, and I look forward to reading your submission! You'll have a lot of fun here. I wrote my first "try it out" character nearly two years ago now. I'm still playing him.
*goes off to sharpen his +3 KEQoRI*

Don't believe him! It's more like a disturbingly intellectual quill hairsplitting eager & anxious debutants.

I see your quill and raise you one Keyboard of Doom Typoes! (KoDT - to anyone who catches my comic reference - hoody hoo!)
All the same mate - welcome on board - I've been here for quite a while to, still with my first character. Keep an eye out for a grumpy Tiefling that no one understands

Mmm, somewhere between a minute and a couple days (you know, the character approvers have lives and all that jazz).
If you've read the character submission rules and relevant background lore, it should be a quick and painless process.
On the other hand, if you are trying to submit a chaotic evil brownie sorc/RDD/palemaster who comes from grayhawk but planewalked into Layo and is a veteran dragonslayer and has a king for a parent.... it may take a bit longer

very true
ive had chars that took one look and got approved, and some that when i was learning the variations too some tweaking with help
as long as your going for a basic not special char it shouldnt take long
subraces and difficult classes to play or those that have special requirements for play take a bit of time, but again
our approvers are great and they can help you tweak any good concept into a viable form
