Greetings.
« on: March 12, 2007, 11:34:53 pm »
Without looking through the other introductions, and without further ado...

Name:

My name is Stephen Zuckerman. That's my real-life, legal name, too. Admittedly, I've got a middle name, but it's spelled wrong.

Age:

At time of posting, seventeen. Some people take me for older, but I don't try fudging this little statistic. :)

Time at Layonara:

Since... Wow. October of `05. About a year and a half, now... Niftycool.

What's kept me here:

The community is my reason for staying. We've got a great thing going here, guys. I do my best to support that, and (usually) don't screw it up too bad. ;) The RP is great, overall; the separation of IC and OOC is brilliant compared to other places I've been; the people of Layo get together to make things happen. We had something like a hundred-plus people for the SoaLA finale, all getting together to play NWN and sit in front of their computers for several hours. It's a powerful thing.

Playstyle:

I strive to give my characters life and breath of their own; each is a deeply complex individual with his or her own faults, strengths, and dreams. I've stood by to watch as Pyyran Rahth has gone from an uncertain boy no older than I am, to a seasoned adventurer my father's age, and seen (and played!) the progression in maturity appropriately. I've gone through numerous characters simply because I couldn't fill the shoes I cobbled for myself when I submitted them. It's not that I'm spamming descriptive text constantly... It's that I try to have the characters act as they would were they real. That's the fun and the challenge, for me.

A few things about me:

Well, I'm a failing student in Highschool, I'm racing ahead in life to move out of my family's home and work my way into a decent college (after getting my GED and Associate's), I'm physically in terrible health, and I honestly think life could be a heck of a lot worse. I like music of all kinds, my main passions being jazz and rock (on the heavier side). Art draws me like a lodestone, in any medium. Visual, musical, physical, textual... I love Waffle House food and think that a scribbled-all-over $1.50 birthday card is worth more than an iMac. I'm an optimistic, pantheistic, realistic, neo-transcendentalistic, Poe-esque pessimist who takes time out of life to offer a soliloquy every now and again to my lovely audience of three: Clotho, Lachesis, and Atropos. Pulp Fiction is my favorite film for oh-so-many reasons.

Closing words:

Hey. We're doing well, here. Let's keep rollin'.

Yeah I've been commented on having mutated hair before, I made it down to below waist in barely 3 years!

Just do yourself a favor and don't shave it... I think it was a moment after the ponytail was cut off that I fell into deep hair-depression :O

Yeah, seriously. I'm thinking about cutting it short enough for my costume at AWA, but then it would still at least be shoulder-length. I think I'd freak out if my hair were short enough that I didn't need to part it.

Need hair like my 'emo' (apparently) hair *grins*

Oh and Hi Stephen!

Great to play Karn with Pyyran as always but on that note...where has he gone? I've been playing a wemic lately, but I check every now and then and haven't seen him around. That two day experiment go so well you're extending it?!

Anyway you're a great player, and Pyyran is immensely complex.
See you around

Heh, general comment but I'm going to post it here: I like the way everyone's replying to everyone else's intro threads with things like this. It makes us get to know where everyone's coming from a bit better.

Man, as a fellow long-hair I will tell you that losing it over an extended period (curse you, male pattern baldness!) is A LOT more painful :(

Heheheh, you're cute. Even the emo hair can't ruin that. ;)

Anyhow, the compliment means a LOT. It really does... That's what I strive for, honestly.

My little experiment is more than over, but I just haven't really found the time and inclination to get on and play, with all of the side-projects I'm working on, and midterms.

I'll probably be back on regularly before too much longer. *Knock on wood.*

Seventeen...SEVENTEEN???

My partner and I have a hobby of guessing ages of players based on aspects of their roleplaying.  And, in general, we're finding we're pretty much smack-on.  :)  But I can honestly say (and I mean this in a good way) we had both pegged you at more like mid-thirties.  THAT'S good RP!

Wow! Thanks! *Grins.* Gods know I have the knees to go along with a mid-thirties age, but not the number on my license, yet. :)

I thought you were about mid-thirties, too--my son's age.
