Hi all.
I'm Beez.
I have an important question:
Whenever I attempt to download the .rar files that are needed to play the game, it just downloads as a .php
How can I make it so they download as the .rar files that they are supposed to be?
-
Are you using a Mac or a PC? That might help us help you :)
-
Actually, it makes no difference, Shiff.
Beez, what you're probably doing is right-clicking on the provided links and selecting "save as". Just click on the link. Because the site is dynamically loaded, it takes you to a php page which fetches the file. When it prompts you for what to do with the file, that is when you save it as appropriate for your system.
-
And the Tech savy strike again! hehe, I would've had no clue
-
thats wat im doing
im just clicking on the link
no rar file, just php
none of them work for me
also, is this game for nwn or nwn2?
cause i think nwn is better than nwn2 and i wouldn't be able to play as well on nwn2
-
what browser do you use?
-
i use firefox
y?
-
*shrugs* I donno... maybe somethings up with your connection? I use firefox and I can DL it all fine
-
Try left clicking on these links.
Layo all in one hak (http://forums.layonara.com/local_links.php?action=jump&id=15&catid=3)
Layo TLK (http://forums.layonara.com/local_links.php?action=jump&id=16&catid=3)
Cheers,
Stragen
-
hehe, hang on, are you left handed? Some people who are left handed have the normal click as the right click, and the options/menu button as the left click
-
nope, im right handed
and those links are just like the other ones, stragen
they still don't work
im pretty sure my connection is fine
-
What -exactly- happens when you try to download the files?
Does a box pop up giving you the option to save the file or open it directly?
And if that box does pop up, does the file name that it displays have the .rar or .php ending?
Also, have you changed the default settings to change what happens when you click on links?
-
i have free download manager, so that pops up and asks where i want to put it
in free download manager, it says the name of the item i am downloading, and it always ends with a .php on those links
-
Ohhh. You may wish to disable that, then. Download managers sometimes don't look beyond the first file (the PHP) to find the second.
-
turn it off :)
-
My compatriots have it; DownThemAll (http://www.downthemall.net/)works fine with this sort of link (as it's one of the context radials on the standard download pop-up for Firefox), but many other download managers won't.
-
thanks guys
also, since no one saw my second question, then i'll repost it
Is Layonara for NWN or NWN2?
because i play better on the first one
-
NWN the Original but you need the Expansion Packs
-
good
i have nwn diamond
does that count?
also, where should i put the tlk thing?
i can't find the tlk folder in the original nwn folder
-
That works, its what I got. I comes with the Expansions. Just make sure you updated it to version 1.68
-
another question
dont know where to put this, so im putting it here
when i try to play the game, all i get is a black screen and the mouse image that is supposed to show up
i get the black screen right after i start up the game, in the area where you can click play and exit and all that
could you tell me how to fix that?
-
From the downloads section:
You need this file along with the All In One (or everything below if you downloaded the haks separately). Extract the archive using a program like WinRar (http://www.win-rar.com/) and place the file into your Neverwinter Nights\\tlk folder. If this folder does not exist, create it.
So yeah, just create the folder...

i could use some help with this

Can you give us a complete system breakdown? Graphics card, processor, OS type, etc? That can help - otherwise, it's difficult to tell you what the problem is.
Also, the BioBoards (http://nwn.bioware.com) are usually a good place to look for NWN-related issues.
-
Sounds like the drivers. nvidia? http://forums.layonara.com/general-discussion/133622-i-can-not-get-nwn-work-anymore.html
http://forums.layonara.com/layonara-peer-support/133832-purple-shadows.html
(The buttons should still be clickable, though.)
-
Aye, definitely the NVIDIA driver...get yourself the newest driver..may be a beta driver..but did the job for me :)
-
i fixed it
thanks for the help, guys
