"Never Split the Party"

I thought I'd share this with everyone. This band, Emerald Rose, is local here, and is really good, but this song and along with it the music video just cracks me up. Just for a warning though, they do say the "darn" word. I saw them perform it live, but personally, I think I like the video better! Enjoy!

If their CD is called 'Con Suite', then I'm guessing Emerald Rose is a filk band? Either way, this definitely made my morning brighter!

There's a bunch more of their stuff on you-tube, but also you can go to
Emerald Rose Home
. They're a pagan/celtic band, and they have some more traditional stuff along with the more funny stuff like "Chicken Raid", "Chocolate Frog" (for harry potter fans), and "Vampyre Girl". They're great to see live, and the lucky thing is the tickets don't cost a lot. I saw them at an Irish Pub across town, and they perform at a lot of different scifi conventions including the big one in Atlanta called Dragon Con.

I agree, *never let the rogue go off by himself!* Every time we play pnp, whoever plays the rogue just starts grabbing all the treasure a room ahead, sticking it in a huge burlap sack, then proceeds to start a half hour argument about how it shouldn't be suspiscious at all that the rest of the party notices him walking around with a newly found jingling burlap sack weighing over 200 lbs. One guy even started crying when I pointed out that his encumberance limit of 80lbs couldn't possibly come near lifting 30,000 gp without magical aid!
In fact, splitting the party at all is such a hassle unless you have at least 2 gms. I know it sounds like a good idea at first to cover more ground in less time, but they never factor in that now the GM has to juggle two seperate encounters and sets of NPCs at once and that gameplay slows down to a crawl. So when the rogue says "while they're in the tavern I run outside and sneak around the stables, what do I see?" I laugh at him and say "nothing, until I'm done with the scene in the tavern".
Bloody pnp rogues!

Hehehehe... good stuff... In truth, I usually give a numbered list of "Rules to live by... no, really, if you don't follow them your character will probably die." to players new to my PnP games. I'm notorious for TPK's, so I figure it's only fair to offer some advance warning and advice.
I think "Never split the party" is number three or four on that list. :p
