For the ultra geeky among us, unix time hits 1111111111 on Fri, 18 Mar 2005 01:58:31 GMT. Which is a little less than 6 hours away.

One of the most important functions I've added since I started coding here was my little GetNow() function that returns this beautiful integer we call an epoch. I wonder if anyone will catch this timestamp for any of the areas where I use it.
-
mmm epoch... also a great trance DJ... but the unix thing is still cooler :P
-
mysql> select now(), unix_timestamp(now()); +---------------------+-----------------------+ | now() | unix_timestamp(now()) | +---------------------+-----------------------+ | 2005-03-17 17:58:31 | 1111111111 | +---------------------+-----------------------+ 1 row in set (0.12 sec) YAY BIG PARTY!

I feel less geeky now... *frowns*
-
I thought that was just R2D2 stuttering in binary?
-
What the hell are you talking about?!?!?!
-
Heh,
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Unix_epoch has some more information, thought it's probably not for the faint of heart. You tell me if it clears any thing up.
-
Hmm.. nice :) Lets see if I can get this right:
0110001001101100011000010110
1110011010110110010101110100
Hehe, I'm sure Orth knows what this is. Good night.

Ar7: Think of it as the big year 2000 thing for all the unix geeks out there and the unix equiv of the y2k bug.
Makes me almost want to break out the mdk cd's, and head back to hosting/irc....almost...
*wipes away a tear*
