For all my old, and young friends.

Just in case you weren't feeling too old today, this will certainly change things.

The people who are starting college this fall across the nation were born in 1987. They are too young to remember the 1st space shuttle blowing up.

Their lifetime has always included AIDS.

Bottle caps have always been screw off and plastic.

The CD was introduced the year they were born; vinyl...8-track...what's that?

They have always had an answering machine

They have always had cable.

They cannot fathom not having a remote control.

Jay Leno has always been on the Tonight Show.

Popcorn has always been cooked in the microwave.

They never took a swim and thought about Jaws.

They can't imagine what hard contact lenses are.

They don't know who Mork was or where he was from.

They never heard: "Where's the Beef?", "I'd walk a mile for a Camel", or "de plane Boss, de plane".

They do not care who shot J. R. and have no idea who J. R. even is.

McDonald's never came in Styrofoam containers.

They don't have a clue how to use a typewriter.

Do you feel old yet? (Sorry) Pass this on to the other old fogies on your list. Notice the larger type, that's for those of you who have trouble reading.

Save the earth. It's the only planet with chocolate

I was born in 1986. I remember Mork (damn that was cool!) and I know who J.R is. I do not, unfortunately, have any idea what "I would walk a mile for a camel" is all about  :)

1.) They are too young to remember the 1st space shuttle blowing up.

      Don't remember it.

2.)Their lifetime has always included AIDS.

      Yep

3.)Bottle caps have always been screw off and plastic.

      true again

4.)The CD was introduced the year they were born; vinyl...8-track...what's that?

I had things on vinyl, though the cassette was big at the time.  I remember when CDs came out and 1 little CD came in this huge box about twice the size of a VHS tape.

5.)They have always had an answering machine

I guess so... never spent much time thinking about it.

      6.)They have always had cable.

I didn't, but its always been around

7.)They cannot fathom not having a remote control.

Didn't have a TV with a remote untill the 90's

8.)Jay Leno has always been on the Tonight Show.

      Who's Jay Leno?

9.)Popcorn has always been cooked in the microwave.

I've popped popcorn on the stove

10.)They never took a swim and thought about Jaws.

I think it was jaws 2 I saw when I was little that scared the crap out of me... however, i was living in the foothills of the rockies at the time, so any swim didn't include any thoughts about sharks.

11.)They can't imagine what hard contact lenses are.

I can't imagine what any contact lenses are like

12.)They don't know who Mork was or where he was from.

I can't for the life of me remember where he was from... but I watched reruns of that show a lot.

13.)They never heard: "Where's the Beef?", "I'd walk a mile for a Camel", or "de plane Boss, de plane".

I've heard "What's the beef?" or, "Whats your beef?"  I assume the camel reference is a cigarette ad.. don't know the plane one.

14.)They do not care who shot J. R. and have no idea who J. R. even is.

This one is lost on me...

15.)McDonald's never came in Styrofoam containers.

      Oh yes it did!

16.)They don't have a clue how to use a typewriter.

I had an old typewriter from the 40's.. Its like a keyboard, you just have to hit it harder.  Oh.. and if you make a typo, you have to use this mysterious substance called "White Out"

Didn't they make a return of J.R. a few years back? Some two-three parter where he turned good?

Aye!  '82 be me own year, mates.  And kudos to those who've watched Robin Williams' early acting.  100 points to the person that can name Robin Williams' first time on the big screen.   :)

"Laugh In," the second airing in '77. They tried, but really just failed to capture the sense of the older one.

        Why? 'Cause I rock.

I remembered Popeye, from when I was a kid, but i did have to look up the date, because i wasnt sure of the year it came out.  I do feel kind of old.
