[SIZE=16][SIZE=16]On Friday February 2nd, from noon PST until Sunday February 4th, noon PST Layonara will be having a 2x XP weekend. That means that all GM run events will be rewarded at 2x the XP and any creature killed will give double the normal XP. This lasts for a total of 48 hours.[/SIZE] [/SIZE] [SIZE=16]During the same period of time all creature kills will give 50% more gold than normal.[/SIZE]

This quest says 'New players welcome but returnees have preference' so as such is not a closed quest.

Let's see... working on the slow grind to that crucial level 10 for Zug (for access to the advanced crafting hall if for no other reason)... at the same time looking at any given 2-hour or so block of open time as a really, really good opportunity for some much-needed sleep.

Ahh man I'm back playing layo 3 days after this happens. Just my luck!.....I hate it when work gets in the way of quick character progress. I hope everyone has some fun!

The cynical part of me wonders if the team is actively trying to "stress test" a change they made in the system by encouraging everyone to be on (and engaged in major activity) as much as possible for a few days. :)

Getting people online is not a problem.
Just have Leanthar make a GM quest for saturday evening, with the title "Blood's Return", and say its open for all levels and place it in Hlint.

It's just a treat for everyone, really. The system that allows us to tune this on-the-fly was put in several updates ago, and was designed to allow us to globally tune gold drops and XP returns to balance things out as we need. The other benefit is that we can do things like this to give the community a little bonus now and then.
As for helping us stress-test...nope. We get that enough as it is, when the server has been up for over 3 days and there are 40 people logged in. :)

Probably going to end up more as a stress test for the GM's then the hardware. I hape there is enough ativan and prozac to go around so big bad monsters don't drop from the sky or pop out of the ground tooo often.

People would simply hord CNR like crazy and do everything on that time to get the double crafting XP. :P
