Housing sweep -- One Week Warning -- Everyone Read
« on: June 19, 2012, 12:13:07 am »
OK, after much delay (and some forgetfulness), I've gone ahead and done my own sweep of housing. This is a pretty simple sweep, based solely on activity level. To be specific, if the owner of a house has not logged in within the last 12 months, I have added that house to the following list:

On West:
101|102|104|113|115
118|120|127|130|133
[strike]136[/strike]|139|142|144|[strike]145[/strike]
[strike]146[/strike]|157|159|172|176
179|183|186|188|
[/table]On Central:
203|209|211|213|218
219|221|227|230|232
235|236|237|238|239
240|242|
[strike]246[/strike]|251|253
259|261|262|264|
[/table]Check these lists carefully.  If you still maintain access to one of these houses, you will need to either make arrangements to buy the house, present a solid reason for a transfer or vacate any possessions you wish to keep that may reside within.  Otherwise, the homes will be released back to the market starting in about a week.

For any homes that should not be released, post below with the following:

Address:
Character Name:
Proposed action:
Justification:

For clarity, this is not for people to start bidding or making a case for houses.  This is an avenue for people with an existing legitimate claim to a particular house to assert that for consideration. For example, if the house was owned by your character's spouse but the player has left or the spouse has permed, this would constitute a legitimate claim.  There are other possibilities, of course, and they will be evaluated on a case-by-case.

If you are just trying to get in line to buy a house, I will not entertain any such requests here.  Anyone without some reasonable claim can attempt to purchase a house through the in-game process.

When these houses do go back on the market, please have some consideration for other players before snatching up houses simply for more guild/personal storage, and please observe the "one house per character" request, in letter and spirit (i.e. a pair of spouses don't need a pair of houses). Give everyone a shot at the beneficial opportunities that player housing offers.

136 Leringard - Farstriders Guild Hall

Address: 136 Leringard
Character Name: Argali Trueaxe
Proposed Action: For Sale
Justification:

136 Leringard is (has been) the Farstriders guild hall, owned by Jin Jun Lee (stragen1). Given that Argali is the last of the (active) Farstriders (for quite some time now), I would be happy for 136 Leringard to be put up for sale.

I request time to clear it out and find alternate accommodation for Argali to store her stuff (though, she has been doing quite well without it, given that she hasn't been actively crafting).

If you want to auction the house, then do so.  Please utilize the in-game system for selling/buying if at all possible, keeping in mind this will destroy any furniture (and its contents) still kept within the house.

I'll take it off the sweep list.  Put in a request (for tracking purposes) to transfer the house to Argali's name so you can handle it from that point forward.

*Finnias finds himself in the Government's foreclosure office pleading his case to retain ownership of the house*

But sir, I paid for this house on hard earned funds...I realize that it's been a bit neglected, but I promise to make any needed repairs.  Heck, I'll even put on a fresh coat of paint!

//Clearly I've not been very active in the last year, but I'd like to keep the house if that's okay.  I do plan to continue to develop Finnias.  He is the current owner of 145 West Server.

If you're going to come back and do so, that's fine, but if I don't see any activity over the next 6 months, I'm going to release the house.  For now, I've taken it off the list for consideration.

I believe 235 is the large house (heavily modified interior done by Treana) near the lake in the haft lake district.  If it is, then the owner, Calvin Norseman, has not been one of my active characters (but still in the stable).  Just need time to remove the crafting materials and the rememberance items in the permed character crypt in the basement.  Request temporary removal from the sell/clear list.

235 Haft Lake does not fit this description.

259 Haft Lake is owned by Calvin Norseman, and it is pretty heavily modified.

Please verify this is the right house in-game and post again.

    Address:  246 Prantz
     Character Name:  Durgen Stormbrow
     Proposed action: transfer / retain
Justification: The house actually belongs to the twin Stormbrow  brothers, Kurgin and Durgen.  Kurgin officially purchased the house so  it is in his name.  Kurgin will not be returning but Durgen still lives  there.

NOTE: Additional furniture items were also placed by Gruffydd Warwick  who also will not be returning.  If a transfer of ownership is granted  then I would also request these items so that I may rearrange or destroy  them.

I have been gone for a bit due to a house relocation and, well, just  life and work in general.  I will be back on Layonara with both  characters (Hanta and Durgen) and recently made a short visit with  Hanta.  I can attempt to contact Kurgin's creator, Hruby, if you wish  for his okay in the matter.

When you do, please put in a request for a transfer using the appropriate forum (i.e. not this thread).

I'll take this house off the list for the time being.

235 was the house owned by Rain and Sonya, both are no longer being played (one is retired the other permed) since the will of Sonya didn't past scrutiny and the house wasn't transferred to any of the kids, it should be placed back to the market.

A week has come and gone.

Thanks to everyone who responded to this thread. The houses not excluded above will gradually returned to the market in a random order.

Dorg, 259 is cleared out (i.e. Safe to remarket).  Would be nice if it hits the market with the extensive floorplan renovations (and the basement crypt hehe).  No gear or items remain with exception of chests in the basement and bedrooms.

Proposed action: Transfer of Deed to Feawen Silimaure
Justification: Spouse of the Owner due to RL he is unable to play. I am also asking that 198 Krandor (the hospital also be transferred to her name for the same reason.)

I am sorry for not responding earlier but until the return of another player I was going to let it go and let it go back to the general population but the property is part of the package for the caretaker of the hospital.

    Hello All,

Sorry for the late response and for my having to leave Layo, as real life did some 180's and found that I couldnt devote the time I wanted to building the hospital and Leaf.  I am not saying that Leaf will not return back someday, just now the timing is not right.  I do miss the RP with all of you and hope the day soon comes that I can return to this wonderful world where interaction with others is the addiction.  Now the reason of my posting.

I would like all titles/deeds/etc to any housing that Shadowleaf Anadivian currently controls be transfered over to Feawen.  She will be able to keep things moving until Leaf can return to her someday.

    Happy gaming friends

As a general note to any other late responses, I have already assigned a random order for the return of these homes to the market. I make no guarantees that your house will remain available as time passes.

If I have not gotten to a particular house, I will of course consider any requests to retain its ownership.

If the house has already been returned to the market, there's really nothing I can or will do. The process destroys all contents of the house and changes the locks. If you want it back, you'll have to buy it back.

I'm not saying this to be a jerk, but rather to set reasonable limits.

With one exception, the sweep has been completed as of a few days ago, having randomly returned houses to the market over the course of several weeks.

I freed up over 40 houses, and there are 34 homes available presently.
