Short Notice: Plot Catch-up events
« on: December 28, 2011, 03:05:50 am »
All,

I know this is short notice, but Rowana and I will be holding a Plot catch-up event this Friday/Saturday (timezone dependent).  The purpose of this event is to discuss and answer questions regarding the plot, state of the world and so forth.

This is an OOC event, and it will be in a moderated question-and-answer format (or at least that's the plan).  Please respect the procedure (to be given during the event) so that information can be conveyed with a minimum of difficulty for everyone.  This will essentially amount to asking questions in an orderly manner rather than everyone blurting out questions all at once.

The intent is to cover the "common knowledge" information that everyone (or almost everyone) would know. As such, it will not matter which character one brings (if one has multiples), since this information would eventually filter into general knowledge in some form or the other.  It is up to you to portray the information however your various characters might.

While we may not be able to get everyone or accommodate all schedules and time zones, we have decided on three events at different times:

Event 1
Event 2
Event 3

It is not necessary to attend all sessions, though you are welcome to do so.

These events are open to all. There are no level requirements. Prior involvement with the plot is not necessary.

Our intent is to start things rolling again in January, so this information will serve as reminders for those familiar with what happened and background for everyone.

For those that can not make it, like me. Is it possible to post up the questions and answers on the forums afterwards. Secondly can those who can not make it post questions here or via PM to be answered during the Event?

Is it possible to move the second event a week? Because right now it is in a perfect spot for GMT, except it is new years eve in the evening... So I doubt the intended audience will be able to attend.

I'm thinking of having a transcript put up after both are done with the answers to questions.

If you cannot make either event, post questions in this thread so we can hopefully cut down on duplicates. Alternatively, have someone who can be there ask your question(s).

Yes, possibly. We're checking schedules on that.

We are going to go ahead and keep the current one up, though bump it forward a couple of hours and then we are going to add a third event on the 7th at a GMT friendly time. Dorganath will put/adjust them on the calendar when he has the chance to do so.

Wanted to pop in and let everyone know sooner rather than later though.

In order to better cover time zones and accommodate New Year's Eve revelry, I have rescheduled the second event and added a third event for the following weekend.  I have also updated the original post above to reflect this.

Event 1 has not changed. This one is most friendly to American time zones.

Event 2 has been pushed two hours later to be somewhat kinder to Aussie time zones.  Also, if you have previously RSVPed to this event, you will need to do so again.

Event 3 has been added as a GMT-friendly option.

Clearly, all events are open to anyone regardless of timezone.

Hopefully that covers as many people as possible.

For any planning on attending today's event, please RSVP.  As of now, there have been no responses since I rescheduled the event. If no one shows up by 15 minutes after the start time (3:15pm CST/9:15pm GMT), we'll cancel the event.

Being that it's the eve of new year, you might have less people come. Might be worth placing one next Saturday?

OK all, there's been a bit of a mix-up on my part.

The event scheduled for today on the calendar should have been scheduled for tomorrow. I got the day numbers mixed up somehow and scheduled it for today by mistake.

So, the event is to take place tomorrow at the same time (7pm GMT), however, if you absolutely cannot make it tomorrow, please post below.  Rowana will be available to answer questions for whomever shows up today, as needed.

Again, sorry for the mix-up.

Thanks to everyone who showed up.

We'll be putting up a combined list of questions and answers from all the sessions as soon as we can.

Folks, I am going to put up one more session next Saturday (maybe Sunday for some time zones). If I have sign ups as -yeses- 3  hours before the quest time, I will go ahead and run it. If we have no confirmed yeses by that time I'll post a cancellation.

This will be the last event of this nature. We just wanted to give everyone a chance at getting answers to questions that we could answer and other clarifications. After this session next weekend we won't be running any further and we will be working hard to get on with the next phase of plot events. (I guess this is also a 'pardon us while we get some work done,' construction notice, hehe.)

Thanks,

Just posting that since there were no sign ups I'm canceling the events. Thanks to all those who showed in previous events. For those that are interested here is the post of questions that were asked already. Good luck to all with the new wave of plot quests. And importantly, I hope you all continue to have fun!
