I think we're all called Deep Dwarves or Grey Dwarves now, and that Duergar is the Forgotten Realms term being phazed out.  Should change all of the references from Duergar to Deep Dwarves.

Duergar (Gray Dwarves)

Duergar
Also known as the Gray Dwarves, the Duergar are one of the more commonly known Underdark dwelling races. They have lived in the Underdark for a few thousand years after the various Dwarven nations split up during the race wars. Finding their way into the Underdark, their goal is now to dominate the riches in metals and gems found deep in Underdark. While I can appreciate the desire to move away from copyrighted material, Duergar likely falls into the public domain - the name derives from dvergar, dark dwarves of Norse Legend, associated with stones, the underground, deathliness, magic (maybe not ENTIRELY appropriate.. ^~), luck, and forging.

For a more contemporary reference, the modern name, (duergar) is associated with a piece of Northern English folklore, referring to 'a race of ugly dwarves'.  Of course, some could argue that with their CHA penalties, dwarves are ugly anyway...  *Grins*

As a final thought, the dvergar come from the same mythology from which we derive the term 'elf' - Alfar (needs an accent there.)
