Cleric Spell - Poison
« on: March 05, 2006, 05:24:58 pm »
Hi guys,

I just noticed that this spell is kind of off, really. It should have a DC of 20 for Aschenbach (10 base + 4 from Wisdom + 4 from Spell level + 2 from Spell Focus Necromancy), yet it has a DC 18 Fortitude save. I just tested it outside of Layonara and it has the same DC as well. Is there any way to have it updated? Not that it's a big deal of course, but I feel that the spell really could reflect well on some of us less "upright" Clerics of the Gods who really would see that as using our given powers to the fullest. Plus, hey - It's one less Cleric running around with 40 preparations of Divine Power, right? :D Thank you for any consideration.

Sounds like it might not be recognizing the spell focus (since thats the only number that could account for the discrepancy.)

Is the DC set at 18, or does it calculate normally except for the spell focus?  Try taking some jewelry on and off to change the save by one or something to test this.

It's casting a specific poison, in this case, Blue Whinnis I belive. Which has a DC of 18. I'm not against making the poison type increase as the cleric levels. But in it's current form, I don't think that it's a bug. I think it's DC is 18.

Close, Ghost. Close. It's Large Scoprion Venom. Man. You really should get back into the game more. :)

And it's a set DC, Talan. As it stands right now it's just a filler spell. Nothing really else it could be used for, besides dropping the strength of some Red Light Goblins. But being a level 4 Spell for Clerics, and 3 for Druids, I do believe it could use a boost. Even if it stays at DC 18, I think the Necromancy bonuses should apply.

Just really an opinion. Plus, with all the important stuff going on I figure I'd just try to toss it in the que as early as possible. :)
