Still playing WoW, will probably be playing another couple of months.  One thing I do like is that there is a transportation system in place.  The travels methods in WoW are about 4 times faster than running, and you get no encounters along the way.  I know suggestions along these lines have been made before.  Leanther doesn't  want teleportals, too fast.  Wagons were suggested, but may be too hard to implement.  I have a different suggestion.  What if the gnomes discoverd a new type of door way, or could make extradimension space. It would operate something like this:  Special doorways are constructed in cities.  Each doorway requires a key for use.  The keys cannot be traded between people. The keys may only be obtained from the gatekeeper at each city, so you have to get there and purchase the key yourself in order to use the doorway at this end of the trasport space.  Some of the spaces only connect two points.  Others connect more. Note that one still has to traverse the space connecting the doors yourself, but its a shorter path than running in the real Layanora, and the only thing you can meet in the travel spaces are other travelers.  Seems like it could be constructed fairly simplly to me.

Why not make something akin to the Griffons in the WoW game?  A form of transport that would require you to spend an amount of time loading each individual area you are passing through, and for those with very fast connections (such as cable or DSL), a time requirement to be fulfilled before you can pass to the next zone? (such as a "griffon roost" in an area) Admittedly, I don't know much at all about NWN scripting, but... can it be done?

I have done a tiny bit of scripting.  The method I proposed was and effort to have one that is not too hard to script.
