LORE color syntax
« on: June 11, 2007, 09:17:34 am »
I'm trying to add color to LORE letters but am struggling to decrypt the codes for them.

I see that yields a dull red, yields a dull green, and yields a dull blue.  This leads me to guess that the three characters after the c are RGB values.  Changing the characters, though, does not result in a consistent changing of the colors.

Is there a method to the madness here?  Ideally I'd like to just know the values to specify that correspond to the inks available ingame on parchments.

Thanks!

The colourization of text in NwN is not an easy thing to work with. The colour values are defined by the actual unicode character values themselves rather than the actual characters the values represent.

There is currently no public listing of what colour equates to what code because getting those characters to render properly in a browser (let alone text editor) is, more often than not, a fight not worth fighting.

At one point I had a reference orth and I coded up in order to get the in-game colours working but I can't seem to find it anywhere on my system. If I happen to find it (or the formula we used to define the colours) I'll be sure to forward it your way. No guarantees though.
