    Dwarf

This has probably been up many times but I just want to make my voice heard.
About Dwarfes, what they should be able to use and what not.

    My opinon:
Cannot use Long bow or tower sheild.
(It is now possible but considerd bad RP, correct me if I am wrong)

    But: Dwarvern waraxes
(Big questionmark here for me )

I agree on long bows for dwarves. Also if a longbow is the 6' old english variety then it seems a lot of races should not use them.  Also STR requirements for heavy Xbows and long bows would be a good idea.

As far as shields go I would say that what would provide the protection of a tower shield for a human would be too big for anyone smaller.  But one could make the point that the protection is based on the amount of the persons body the shield covers.
So the "tower shield" used by a dwarf would be a just a large shield in human hands as far as protection but for the dwarf would still provide the same protection as a tower shield.

I think Dwarfs should not need the Exotic feat for a dwarven waraxe.  Seems silly that they do.

I agree on what both of you stated.  We are under NWN limiations on this stuff though.

I would disagree on blanket Str requirements for longbows from the point of view that you can improve the muscles required to use a longbow through using a longbow and that no two longbows pull at the same weight anyway.  Also it is more technic than physical strength once you have mastered pulling your bow, ask my guy who has seen me sink arrows deeper than he has on a good day when my technic has come together! :)
Now I'm not saying a dwarf could use a 6' longbow but certaintly people 5' and over have used them sucessfully throughout history and not all longbows were 6' anyway.

A five-foot-tall man could use a bow with a six-foot-long stave any day of the week, if he had the strength and skill to draw it. Just the curve of a bow usually lops the thing by about 5% to 10% of its length, and the center is held at shoulder-height. In theory, a five-foot-tall man could use a bow with an eight-foot-long stave.

As for STR requirements... The Heavy Crossbow requires a mechanical winch to reload, in PnP.

As for Dwarves getting Exotic for Dwarven Waraxes, they really should. Just edit the requirements to include Dwarves, like Rapiers include Elves. They SHOULD do that, already.
