History:  It all started as an idea.  Tyra saw the decaying tower in the outskirts of Dapplegreen as a base for... something.  She didn’t know what, yet.  But she knew she wanted it...
She figured out when she got her hands on the deed, and realized first hand the 'nature’ of things in Co’rys.  Faced with the knowledge of the kinds of things she did in pursuit of the tower, she decided to make the tower into a symbol of something better, of a way of life that could replace the way things are in the otherwise corruption-filled kingdom.  She needed help though.  Alone she could not achieve what she felt needed to be done.  And the first thing needing to be done was cleaning the tower of an undead curse.  Calling on an old friend, a well respected Paladin of Toran, Tyra managed to gather a group of adventurous Toranites (and some others) to go about solving the mystery of the Tower.  After a failed assault and some time spent re-evaluating the situation, Tyra’s Ilsarian friend, Andrew, and a musical Paladin uncovered the mystery of the Tower, allowing Tyra to find a necromancer’s orb, which caused any who fell in the tower to rise again as the undead.
Following this, Tyra set out to gather a group whom she could work with in order to try and change things for the better in Co’rys.  She approached many people of various ways of life, each having a role in mind that will help further the goals she hoped could be achieved through cooperation.  Having gathered a number of interested people, Tyra feels ready to set forth with trying to bring some light to the dark corners of Co’rys.

How to Join:  ICly?  Get Tyra's attention somehow, and she will invite you into the circle.  OOCly?  PM me with why you'd like to join and we can work on the how and why Tyra would approach you.  The Guild is informal, so there is no real applying, and it's also covert, so there is no sign saying "Coalition Head Quarters."  We are just a group of players who have decided to work together toward goals we each have, along with the other Goals listed above.

--- Quote from: ShiffDrgnhrt ---The Coalition

General Alignment: True Neutral leaning Neutral Good.

The reason for this is that while the overall aim is Good (feed the poor, help the needy, punish evil, etc), the potential exists among the G-E axis Neutral members to do evil things in order to achieve good.  Torturing for information, theft, and perhaps in extreme cases cold blooded murder could occur in order to punish the corrupt and evil and benefit the people.  Support for such acts may or may not come from other members, however, but the potential for the actions to be taken is a reality.

This deserves a much more in depth response than I have time for right now. But for starters, one or two points (still incomplete and not well rounded):

Do good people do evil things to accomplish their ends? What alignment is "the end justify the means"?

What alignment would you cast Jack Bauer or James Bond as?

Is doing bad things for the greater good [LORE]lawful evil[/LORE]?

--- Quote from: Lawful Evil ---[*]Never torture for pleasure but will to extract information.
[*]Never kills for pleasure - always has a reason.

I think to an extent cg could fit that restriction of doing what ever is necessary that is not necessary morally or lawfully well seen to achieve the greater good, but to a limit.

ShiffDrgnhrt:
Not to be rude...  But this was so others could see what we're about and maybe generate interest, as well as provide DMs with some of the necessary info regarding the guild.  Not for a alignment debate.  I understand the issues with what the guild is willing to do, and it's alignment.  But it's not a set thing.  I was simply addressing the potential for deviation from what is considered Good, and why it's as it is.

Please forward any concerns to me via PM please.  :)
