Leringard Arms Inn and Tavern / For the People of Roldem

[big][yellow]For the People of Roldem[/yellow][/big]       For the Survivors of the Occupation of the Kingdom of Roldem, little has been done.  The time for looking away has passed.  Now, All People of Good Conscience are asked to help the Survivors recover their Pride, Confidence, and Hope.       The Survivors have Basic Needs, which Citizens of Mistone and Dregar take for granted.  Clothing, Food, and Medical Supplies are Sorely Needed.  If the People of Roldem can be Well Fed and Clothed, and kept in Good Health, they can begin to Rebuild their Homes and their Cities.  With the Aid of their Neighbors, the Survivors will once again have Hope for the Future.  With their Basic Needs covered, they will have the Confidence to begin Rebuilding their Homes and Cities, and return to Tending their Fields.  With a Firm Grasp on their Own Destinies, the People of Roldem will stand Proud and Independent.       Though a few simple items will help return Hope to the Survivors, there is a Segment of that Population who need more aid.  These are the Orphans, those Children who lost their Families and are too young to Recover on their own.  To assist these young Survivors, an Orphanage will be constructed to House and School them.         [yellow]The following Items are Requested as Donations:[/yellow] - Clothing of any Type or Style, including Cloaks, Robes, Belts, and Boots - Foods, including Breads, Juices, and Milk - Medical Supplies, including Bandages - Construction Materials, including Wooden Planks and Various Tools - Weapons and Armor, especially those Types that can be Easily Handled by newly recruited Militia - Raw Materials that could be used to produce Any of the Items listed above, though Finished Goods are prefered - Coins, for the Construction of the Orphanage       [yellow]The following Persons are Collectors for Donations:[/yellow] - Jennara Creekskipper - Yardislan Echron - Klaugraquene Dragonbane - Acacea Thistletongue - Cole Norseman - Pig - Enyaill - Tyrian   [big][yellow]Addendum to the Call for Aid[/yellow][/big]       The following list has been prepared to aid in collection of a proper range of items.  The numbers requested are suggested minimums.    [TABLE=head;sort=1a,2,3][yellow][big]Categories[/big][/yellow]|[big][yellow]# Collected/# Requested[/yellow][/big]|

General Discussion / Half Giants and Alignment

I was looking at the server status page and saw the Half Giant character Han Woad is a Monk.  Since Half Giant Monks have been denied in the past, I searched for the character submission.  There I saw that Ice did not say Lawful Half Giants are impossible, but are very rare.

I checked out the Half Giant race page.  Under the heading "Alignment," it says that Half Giants are as diverse as Humans, but aren't likely to be Lawful Good or Chaotic Evil and tend toward Chaotic.  At the very bottom of the page, though, it still says Half Giants cannot be Lawful.

So, that's a little inconsistant and confusing.

*prays in a whisper*  Lord Protector, I am at a loss for an explanation, but I find myself atop a steep cliff with no clear path down.  I hesitate to ask for more than You have already given, but I could surely use Your aid.  Please guide me to a safe path of descent, that I may continue my duties to others.

General Discussion / Death Void Trouble

Jennara is stuck in the Death Void.  She doesn't auto-port to Pranzis where she is bound, and the Remembering Orb doesn't do anything.

This happened once a little earlier and Milo rescued her, but she has since died again (grr) and is stuck again.  I did completely shut down and restart NWN between these two deaths.  *shrugs*

Roleplaying / Letters to NPCs

What is the best way to send an in-character letter to an NPC?

Not long ago, Jennara sent letters to NPCs based on events in one of Milo's quests, so I sent the letters via PM to Milo.  Now, though, she has a letter to send that has nothing directly to do with any specific DM, so I'm not sure the best way to go about it.

General Discussion / No Rope

Jennara seems to have gotten a little carried away running from Pranzis to the south end of the Forest of Mists, for now she is stuck high on a cliff.  One somersault too many, maybe.  

Despite mountain goat-like nimbleness at other times and other places, she's just a bit too wigged out to hop off right now, so if anyone has a moment and feels like helping out, Jennara could use a hand getting down.

Fixed Bugs / Temple of Vorax - Ulgrid

There's no 'shopkeeper' in the Temple of Vorax in the Ulgrid fortress.  

That probably wouldn't matter much, except now we can make donations, and it would be nice to let the followers of Vorax join the fun.

... unfortunate.  It seems the sentence for Holas should have been much harsher, though the Citadel surely has information I do not.  Still, the greed of Holas led directly to the death of the dock shopkeeper, and he was not even slightly remorseful when we spoke to him in his cell.  That alone is enough to earn more than the short five-year sentence he received.  Maybe the Healer in Pranzis can tell me more about the trial.

I am saddened that any of this was necessary, though I am pleased that my letter did some good.  I hope to meet the new clergy in Velensk soon, and offer my services to help repair any damaged impressions caused by the corrupted former staff.  I hate to imagine what horrible rumors may be spreading because of this trouble...

Found a town - Hlint.  Seems busy.  Will spend time here seeking information.  Met other Dwarves, but they seemed to misunderstand 'Wardrummer.'  Their Clans may have different names for it.  Might take longer than I hoped to find a Master.

Interesting notes:
- Very big rats here.  Cross-bred with capybara, maybe.
- No one seems especially worried that there are skeletons walking about the crypts constantly.

General Discussion / Trapped Halfling

With outrageous speed, Jennara managed to leap over Ft. Hope and land beyond the wall on the far side.  Efficient as this method of travel may be, she doesn't think it's fair to ground-based people, and would like a little help back over the wall so she can leave town by the gate like ordinary, civilized people.

That means I'm stuck, just in case it wasn't clear.

Donated by Master Kobal Bluntaxe, a pair of diamonds are up for bid to raise coins for an orphanage in the former Kingdom of Roldem.

Bids can be made for a single diamond or for the pair, but this must be clearly marked with each bid.  Starting bids must be no less than 10,000 coins per diamond.  Winning bids will be either the two highest single diamond bids, or the highest bid for the pair, whichever is greatest.

This auction ends Freas at sunset, reckoned by the Leilon horizon.
