other stuff too- the bastardswords have plenty of custom bottoms, but no custom hilts or blades.- I recognize the bottoms from other servers, and think there are probably some nice unlinked bastard-sword parts in our haks here.

I tried removing my entire override, save for the soundset.2da. Problem still persists.

//thoughts on the propposal and questions of faith

Jack Darkenmyrr:  *his cigar stuck in the corner of his mouth- he has 2-day old stubble covering his weathered features as he strolls over slowly*
Jack Darkenmyrr:  *nods with a subdued sparkle in his grey eyes*
 Jack Darkenmyrr:  Hello missy.
Evanesa Kley:  Hullo Jack...*she absently kicks her heel at the grass as she slowly places one in front of the other on her way closer to him*
Jack Darkenmyrr:  *cracks his neck to each side and narrows his eyes briefly in pain. He takes his cigar out with his swordhand, and steps close to her- he reaches forth a hand, then sees the cigar, and reluctantly tosses it to the grass before gently pulling her close *
Jack Darkenmyrr:  I have missed you. *he leans down and pouts his lips awkwardly, before kissing her forhead- trying to avoid scraping her skin with his stubble*
Evanesa Kley:  *she smiles as he grows nearer, you see a hint of disappointment as you kiss her forehead, she looks up to you with her opalescent eyes and breathes deeply his unique scent* as have I, you
Jack Darkenmyrr:  *frowns a moment, then lifts her chin with his gauntletted fingers - he reminds himself she is a warrior, and her soft skin is very misleading. He kisses her on the lips his eyes narrowed in longing*
Evanesa Kley:  *she smiles on your lips and 'rolls' her head downward from the kiss, leaving you to kiss her nose, her brow then once again her forehead as she smiles happily* now then...what have you got yourself into lately then Jack?
Jack Darkenmyrr:  *sighs and looks to the south a moment*
Jack Darkenmyrr:  *doesnt really know where to begin*
Evanesa Kley:  *follows his gaze South, then turns once more to look at him, studying his expression* what is it Jack?
Jack Darkenmyrr:  Was in Llast, missy. Simple enough assignment- I figured it would take my mind off things.
Jack Darkenmyrr:  Quite a large gathering of adventurers- interesting sorts mostly in it for the gold. We were to fetch some dwarven helmets and a few other things from some mountains in the south.
Jack Darkenmyrr:  Quintayne was there. The high priest of Rofiriem. *frowns*
Jack Darkenmyrr:  *suddenly looks very old*
Evanesa Kley:  *her blonde brow knits together* what troubles you? *her soothing elven voice utters*
Jack Darkenmyrr:  We ran into trouble - Quintayne... *frowns and his mouth makes a line*
Evanesa Kley:  *she shakes her head slowly* I'm afraid I know little in that way, Jack...but please continue
Jack Darkenmyrr:  *pauses a long moment then changes the subject* I have been giving a lot of thought to my place in the world lately.
Jack Darkenmyrr:  That young warrior Derrick had some points.... *he takes out a fresh cigar as he speaks, and blesses it under his breath before lighting it up*
Evanesa Kley:  *she glances down at the grass* I see...
Jack Darkenmyrr:  It is not the Rofirite way to concern themselves with protecting the weak, or waging war for just cause missy. Quintayne... showed that to me clearly.....
Jack Darkenmyrr:  *sounds a bit bitter*
Evanesa Kley:  you spoke to him then?
Jack Darkenmyrr:  Oh, I was content to do my duty- I took it upon myself to keep them alive if possible, and take up the front with Kobal .. a great dwarven hero *frowns and takes a long drag on his cigar, before lodging it in the corner of hs mouth*
Jack Darkenmyrr:  Quintayne,.. was content to take up the rear without even drawing a weapon, his shield, or even using his magic, whilst people bled and one died around him.
Jack Darkenmyrr:  I guess the giants were not breaking the law. *bitter chuckle- sounds a bit uncharacteristic for jack*
Evanesa Kley:  *raises a brow* then I suppose you've learned what he's made of...and go from there
Jack Darkenmyrr:  He represents the will of the faith missy....
Jack Darkenmyrr:  *shakes head slowly, lost in thought - a troubled look on his gnarled features*
Evanesa Kley:  if he represents your faith...why do you speak on it as though you disapprove?
Jack Darkenmyrr:  I left the army because of this kind of thing miss Kley.
Evanesa Kley:  you simply share the same faith...not the same heart and sense of honour...yes?
Jack Darkenmyrr:  I sent many young men to their deaths - doing things I was better able to do myself- or at least leading them actively, fewer would be dead now.
Jack Darkenmyrr:  Perhaps I was less wise in my choices than I like to think in my vainer moments, miss.
Evanesa Kley:  then it begs the question....why are you still adhered to the same god that you no longer believe in?
Jack Darkenmyrr:  Oh I believe in the law, I think it neccesary - for the preservation of civilisation. However there are ... greater concerns. *swallows deeply, this being a profound revelation for him*
Jack Darkenmyrr:  Derricks words are true- war is coming- a great war, for our very survival. The laws of man seem ... less important somehow, compared to doing the right thing - and the fight for the very survival of civilisation.
Evanesa Kley:  then it's not your god's law you believe in then, Jack...*she says with a concerned look on her face*
Jack Darkenmyrr:  *looks troubled, his steel grey eyes looking down at her, while he drags a few slow breaths on his cigar - again the look of age*
Evanesa Kley:  have you had anymore meetings with him then? I received no messages...so perhaps he felt comfortable enough with contacting you directly...*she folds her thin arms across her chest*
Jack Darkenmyrr:  *blinks a few times, having been lost in thought* mmrm?
 Jack Darkenmyrr:  Derrick- ah no.
Jack Darkenmyrr:  Regardless of whether I take him up on his offer- I think he is right, I just dont know if I am the man for the job.
Evanesa Kley:  I, of course would support you in your decisions Jack...however...*she glances round* I don't feel I shall take part in that war...
Jack Darkenmyrr:  It would effect the elves too, sooner or later. Even the fabled realms of your mother.
Evanesa Kley:  and if the stories are true...she and her people are more than capable of protecting themselves
Jack Darkenmyrr:  Perhaps. If indeed they are so powerful, and your quest proves succesful, you could work towards involving them in the preservation of this world then. More actively.
Evanesa Kley:  *her brow furrows once again* then...you mean to not fulfill your promise to me?
Jack Darkenmyrr:  *long pause, then he takes a deep breath and stands proud* I am not an oathbreaker miss.
Jack Darkenmyrr:  If you wish my aid in your quest- you shall have it. *looks troubled though*
Evanesa Kley:  no, of course not...and I am not the sort who will force a hand...if you wish to fight in this coming war...then I release you from your vow...
Evanesa Kley:  *her scalp tightens and crimson slowly creeps up her porcelain features*
Jack Darkenmyrr:  *seems to shrink a bit in shame* I .. thank you. I must do what is right - if I but could see with clarity. All is not clear to me these days. I need time to think. *looks at her with a wry smile* I am sure you dont mind waiting a bit.
Evanesa Kley:  there is no need Jack...I've released you from your vow...you are now...as you say, 'a free man'
 Jack Darkenmyrr:  *frowns*
Evanesa Kley:  I will do as I've always done...I will train and make myself ready for the next continent...
Evanesa Kley:  for I am sure my father is not here
Jack Darkenmyrr:  Perhaps I would serve the lands best by aiding your contact with your mothers people- Voltrex would prove a powerful ally.
Jack Darkenmyrr:  Who is to say what is the right path?
Evanesa Kley:  *she smiles to herself as she lifts her pack onto her right shoulder, she speaks quietly* Jack...*she smiles* you should aid your people the best you feel you can...and I will continue on my quest...
Evanesa Kley:  change is something not easily nor always welcomed by my kind...
Evanesa Kley:  yet I feel this is right...
Jack Darkenmyrr:  Time, my dear, is not unlimmited when it comes to Blood- your people would do well not to forget that.
Jack Darkenmyrr:  Perhaps if we stuck together, we could remind them of that.
Evanesa Kley:  elfs forget little...I assure you Jack...*she smiles gently*

//a meeting of warriors, a propposal made. (1 month ago)

Evanesa Kley:  mmm I wonder how he found out I had become a Swordmistress...*she blurts out absently*
Jack Darkenmyrr:  Oh, yer skills with a blade are obvious to even the untrained eye missy. I m sure some of the people we travelled with have noticed and the word spreads of your prowess.
 Derrick Loadson:  Greetings
Evanesa Kley:  *she chuckles lightly* oh you such a charmer Jack...*she playfully pushes him*
Derrick Loadson:  Sorry... got hung up on the road
 Derrick Loadson:  *nods
Evanesa Kley:  oh! Derrick...*she smiles* Hullo...no worries...
Jack Darkenmyrr:  *sees the drawn blades and moves his hand to his own slowly, narrowed eyes. He rumbles a greeting as he bites down firmly on his cigar*
 Derrick Loadson:  Helloe Eva
Derrick Loadson:  You muct be Jack
Jack Darkenmyrr:  Aye. Ye must be Derrick - warrior of some renoun.
Evanesa Kley:  Hullo again Derrick...and yes...the one and only *playful grin as she motions towards Jack*
Derrick Loadson:  Lets go inside shall we
 Evanesa Kley:  yes of course...
 Derrick Loadson:  Welcome
Derrick Loadson:  *motions to the chest
 Derrick Loadson:  Have some drinks
Evanesa Kley:  *glances round the room and shudders slightly at the trophies of animal parts*
Derrick Loadson:  *takes off his helmet and sets it on the table
Jack Darkenmyrr:  *pours a whiskey for himself, looking to Evanesa questioningly*
Evanesa Kley:  elfen wine if it's possible
Derrick Loadson:  *Blond hair falls across Derrick's face
Derrick Loadson:  *a wicked scar runs from his temple to his lip. Making it look as if he has a sneer . smile on his face
Jack Darkenmyrr:  *looks around, but unfamiliar with anything but ale, whiskey and cognac he doesnt know if there is elven wine amongst the many bottles*
Derrick Loadson:  *his nose has obviously been broken many times
Derrick Loadson:  *piercing green eyes regard you
Evanesa Kley:  *seeing Jack's confusion and his time spent in the liquor bin she says* I'll have what you are drinking Jack
Jack Darkenmyrr:  *looks over and grins slightly, his cigar at the corner of his mouth as he nods to her*
Derrick Loadson:  I dunna think there be any wine...
Jack Darkenmyrr:  *pours a second whiskey, adding a bit of water for her, and hands her the drink*
 Derrick Loadson:  Please sit
Evanesa Kley:  *glances to Derrick, pausing a moment to regard him in the rare moment he has his helm off, she accepts the glass and smiles* thank you Jack...
Evanesa Kley:  *she turns to their host, then glances at the chairs in hopes he'd tell them where he wishes them sit*
Derrick Loadson:  I understand congradulations are in order... Weaponsmaster
Derrick Loadson:  Sit where ye may
Jack Darkenmyrr:  *stops to look a long moment at Derrick, his steel grey eyes taking in the details. Taking in the details, he rumbles softly in approval at the sight of a great warrior.*
Evanesa Kley:  *she nods quickly as her face blossoms into a wide smile*
 Derrick Loadson:  How's the Whiskey?
Evanesa Kley:  *as she bends to sit, she flicks out her half-skirt so as not to crumple it, as she glides into the sleek stone chair*
Evanesa Kley:  *she sips it and savours the slight hint of licorice* very....good...
Derrick Loadson:  *meets Jack's gaze and nods.
Jack Darkenmyrr:  *takes a mouthful, rolling the burning liquid around in his mouth, savoring it. He nods to Derrick as he swallows and drags on his cigarstub - thoroughly enjoying the sensations in his throat and mouth*
Derrick Loadson:  That be brewed by one named Felicity...  I won the lot in a Lottery they had a while back
Derrick Loadson:  But...  I didn't invite ye here fer a whiskry taste... so I'll get to the point
Evanesa Kley:  *she sets the receptacle--obviously made for a human hand, on the large table as she looks up and over at Derrick*
Jack Darkenmyrr:  I need to get myself a good travelling canteen worthy of whiskey.. I miss it around the camp fires on the road.
Derrick Loadson:  *looks at Jack and then at Eva
 Derrick Loadson:  Aye
Jack Darkenmyrr:  *sends a quick glance her way and listens*
Derrick Loadson:  So why do yer think we are all here?
Evanesa Kley:  well...you showed an interest in my training...and I mentioned I was training under Jack...so...I suppose you wished to meet him...you saw in battle for yourself...that I was...effective...at least
Jack Darkenmyrr:  Hrm. I could guess many things - theprivacy here could be needed or simply comfort of ones own home - I suspect word of Evanesas prowess has reached your ears and you may have need of such skills thogh ... I think I ll leave it to you to explain. *sips some more*
Evanesa Kley:  *looks like a child sitting at the grown-up table, she tries to keep from dangling her feet*
Derrick Loadson:  Sorry....  I suppose I shoulda been a little more specific...  Why do yer think we are all here... on Layonara... brought together by that dragon dream?
Jack Darkenmyrr:  *leans back in the solid stone chair, feeling quite comfortable and not afraid of the chair breaking under the weight of steel and his bulk*
Derrick Loadson:  *Takes a long drink from a Stein
Jack Darkenmyrr:  Ah thats where we differ a bit sir. I am born and raised in Port Hampshire... the dragon did not send me to Hlint - I wound up there by chance of my travels. *looks to her to explain her backgroud at her leasure*
Derrick Loadson:  Ah...  but yer had the dream...
Evanesa Kley:  my story is also quite different...I do not know where I was born...and I travelled here on a stop-over...
Jack Darkenmyrr:  I had a dream aye - was of a dragon -.... my Master Rofireim, the lord of Justice and guardian of civilisation.
 Evanesa Kley:  *sighs* yes...the dream...
Derrick Loadson:  I... I mean this is not my home... well it is very simular...  but the names are all different...
Jack Darkenmyrr:  *smiles to Derrick as he holds his cigar in one hand , whiskey in other*
Evanesa Kley:  *tries to sit up so more than her head is visible over the table*
Derrick Loadson:  Er... sorry not to good at things like this...  another part o the reason I asked you here
Derrick Loadson:  *turns his gaze to Jack
Evanesa Kley:  *fears explaining her thoughts of the dream*
 Derrick Loadson:  War is comin
Derrick Loadson:  The one called Blood will bring his forces to destroy all of Layonara
Jack Darkenmyrr:  These lands are my home - I was raised mostly by the town guard in Port Hampshire - I served there til my 30th year Sir. I know many adventurers speak of strange dreams and a feeling of displacement.. especially around Hlint, but I am not one of the,m.
Derrick Loadson:  DO you know of what I speak?
Evanesa Kley:  *she glances quickly over to Derrick* yes....I am beginning to....
 Jack Darkenmyrr:  Aye I do.
Evanesa Kley:  he is the root behind the undead roaming the streets..and the dark elf raid?
Derrick Loadson:  I am sure of it
Jack Darkenmyrr:  Ultimately no doubt yes.
Derrick Loadson:  I have also encountered on of Bloods Generals here on Mistone...  once in Rilara... once in the Barghen Mountains
Jack Darkenmyrr:  You are widely travelled then.
Derrick Loadson:  A bit...  I guess yer could say that
Jack Darkenmyrr:  *tenses slightly as he considers something unpleasant, and his cigar hand shifts slightly closer to his sword, but stops still above the table*
 Derrick Loadson:  *grins slightly
Derrick Loadson:  You have nothing to worry about... I am not in league with them...  if thats what you think
Evanesa Kley:  *wonders if this Blood business will interfere with her quest much, she grimaces*
Jack Darkenmyrr:  *narrows his eyes at him, his grey eyes trying to discern the truth of that, he nods curtly a moment later and sets the whiskey down*
Evanesa Kley:  *raises an eyebrow* the thought didn't enter my thoughts Derrick
Jack Darkenmyrr:  About the dream - my master did speak to me in visions of what is to come- or could be. It is not something I have spoken of before now - but aye... it does not bode welll with this blood-business.
Derrick Loadson:  Let me just get straight to the point...  I think that Blood will assualt Mistone sooner than later... and from what I've seen... we are ill prepared
Derrick Loadson:  It seems ta me that the dragon... er what ever it is... brung the lot of us here... to fight agin Blood
Evanesa Kley:  *sighs as he confirms her fears* definately an interruption *she says aloud*
Jack Darkenmyrr:  *considers it a moment, then nods*
Derrick Loadson:  There be hero's a plenty thats fer sure...  but... unfortunately it is not hero's that win wars
Jack Darkenmyrr:  Ye have that right. *puffs thoughtfully*
 Derrick Loadson:  It's soldiers
Jack Darkenmyrr:  I used to train em - boys, soldiers I mean. Ol Jack here was a drill sargent the last 5 years of me service to Port Hampshire.
Jack Darkenmyrr:  *frowns a bit as he remembers the past*
 Derrick Loadson:  *grins
Evanesa Kley:  soldiers....*sighs*...no...it's people...the races coming together for a common goal and organsing, pooling resources and strategies...
Evanesa Kley:  it will take more than magic and might to smite such a pest
Derrick Loadson:  Aye...  *looks at Eva   those be the soldiers I speak of
Derrick Loadson:  But without soldiers to fight in the trenches there will be no time for those other things
Evanesa Kley:  *sighs--not caring for the miltary term; she shoots a glance at Jack*
Derrick Loadson:  Be assured...  it is an army we face...
Evanesa Kley:  if you have men, elfes, dwarves, gnomes, halflings even...organised they will be unmatched in battle...
Derrick Loadson:  Aye...  but they will be vital for success...  What I have seen is a lack of unity...
Jack Darkenmyrr:  Bloodstone brings demons. Creatures from the beyond.
Evanesa Kley:  if you have some zealot hero itching to prove his worth....the sound will be loud, the silence an eternity
 Derrick Loadson:  Exactly
Derrick Loadson:  Aye... he will have that... and more Jack...  but...
Derrick Loadson:  You see normally and in the past I could have cared less...  hell I might have even fought for someone like Blood had the money been right
Jack Darkenmyrr:  what good are mundane weapons in the hands of mortal men against the otherworldy scales of a demon - we need heros to face demons, not an army of soldiers armed with steel.
Derrick Loadson:  He will not send his demons in first...
Derrick Loadson:  He will send those creatures whom he has subjugated into serving him...
Derrick Loadson:  Creatures... and things that bleed
 Derrick Loadson:  Giants, Orcs Drow...
Jack Darkenmyrr:  Dont get me wrong - we need an organized army - but do not think that a few good men cannot achieve that which an army cannot. Individuals surprise from time to time *winks and puffs on his cigar deeply*
Derrick Loadson:  Well...  when I speak of Army...  er well what I mean is a unified group... those that get out there and fight toe to toe...
Jack Darkenmyrr:  *leans back and reaches for the whiskey once more, eyeing a Evanesa briefly in the flickering light of the torches before returning his attention to Derrick.*
Jack Darkenmyrr:  Well - what do you proppose then, or is this group already being formed? *narrows his eyes as an idea dawns to him*
Derrick Loadson:  Well...  I was thinkin that a groups such as I spoke of is formed...  a group of heros...  that are soldiers
Derrick Loadson:  But they will need a leader...  someone with... a Military background
Derrick Loadson:  Someone that knows Mistone
Jack Darkenmyrr:  I am done with sending boys to their deaths Sir. I ll fight alongside anyone, and die if needs be if the cause is Just - but I ll not order a man to his death again. I v done that enough for several lifetimes. *sighs*
Derrick Loadson:  They will go to thier deaths anyway... and sooner without good leadership. . .
Jack Darkenmyrr:  *shakes his head slowly and sips the Whiskey, looking over at Evanesa again briefly*
Evanesa Kley:  *glances at Jack for a long while, then slowly to Derrick* if it's Jack you wished to recruit, why did you ask me along Derrick? *her tone inquizzitive*
Derrick Loadson:  Jack will need good people... the best swordsman and swordswomen there are...  this will be an elite group...
Derrick Loadson:  But none should be excluded... none who are willin
Derrick Loadson:  Whether we like it or not... War is coming... and we can either wait in our beds for death to come... or we can go out and face it... and if we die... we die fighting with a smile on our faces
Jack Darkenmyrr:  *winces* Sir Derrick - I am sure you are an able commander, you should lead this group yourself. I have not travelled to other continents as you have, nor have I faced the forces of Blood.
Evanesa Kley:  I will not die...*she says in an almost childish tone as once again she speaks aloud her thoughts...she blushes quickly as she realises this*
Jack Darkenmyrr:  *reaches over under the table to squeeze her hand comfortingly*
Derrick Loadson:  Aye... I have commanded... but it was different...  I lead a mercenary band...  usually into desperate situations for nothing more than money
Evanesa Kley:  *squeezes his hand tightly three times as she dies inside for appearing foolish*
Derrick Loadson:  I have fought for Princes, and paupers...  Kings and Usurpers
Derrick Loadson:  But n'er for a reason...    asides...  while I can command... they need someone they can look up too...  me... Im just a killer
Jack Darkenmyrr:  The military was my family sir - and most of the ones I remember best are long dead to bandits, giants and worse.
 Derrick Loadson:  *nods
Evanesa Kley:  oh pish posh Derrick...*refusing to believe that*
Derrick Loadson:  Then you'll have ta find new ones...
Derrick Loadson:  *looks at Eva...  his eyes emotionless...
Evanesa Kley:  *meets his glance, her brilliantly hued eyes reflecting the radiance and joy of her kind*
Jack Darkenmyrr:  Just so we are on the level, ye are asking me, Jack here, to do this-... what do you know of me? It is not long since I left the monastery after completing my time as an acolyte.
Derrick Loadson:  *returns Eva's gaze with dead eyes that have long sense lost the light of love or laughter
Derrick Loadson:  You are still a soldier Jack...  and your.. faith... will only make you a stronger leader
Evanesa Kley:  *does not falter in her gaze, her expression kindness and compassion with no hint of judgement*
Derrick Loadson:  But...  This is of course.. only an idea...  I too am a soldier...  and I see things differntly
Jack Darkenmyrr:  *sips the whiskey again, wary of not letting it get to his head now*
Derrick Loadson:  *Drinks deeply from his ale stein siting it down with an empty thud..
Jack Darkenmyrr:  An idea with some merit- if ye say ye have seen the things ye have, in distant lands... things to come. Adversaries we must face, then we do need heros, and your idea is a good one. *sighs and thinks some*
Derrick Loadson:  *grins but the scar makes it look more like a sneer
Evanesa Kley:  *she turns her gaze to Jack and smiles comfortingly and inclines her blonde crown reassuring him* I'd support you either way Jack...
Jack Darkenmyrr:  I am a reluctant leader at best Sir. I do not like sending others to die doing something I could do myself. I shall have to think on this. *puffs deeply on the cigar*
Derrick Loadson:  The screams of the women, and children in the streets of Arabel...  on the far continent...  can be a bit disturbing
 Derrick Loadson:  Fair enough
Jack Darkenmyrr:  it is the reason I left the military.
Evanesa Kley:  I have a rather bold query...if you would suffer me, Derrick
Derrick Loadson:  I have been lookin around...  but have yet to find someone that sees through the eyes of a soldier... most are fancy free looking for adventure...  or something for themselves
Derrick Loadson:  You can ask anything yer like Eva
Jack Darkenmyrr:  though the cause back then was the protection of a city... this is different now *looks to her and smiles breifly, his eyes showing the gratitude at her words*
Derrick Loadson:  I wish I could understand how you feel Jack...  but I can't
Evanesa Kley:  *her cheeks sting a bit at the 'fancy free', as she feels it's directed towards her and her kind* why you? why are you doing this...no one else seems to wish to take this upon yourself?
Derrick Loadson:  those feeling left from me long ago... another reason I would not be a good leader
Evanesa Kley:  and yes I know you touched on it earlier....however....I can not ignore this feeling there is something...*more*
 Derrick Loadson:  *looks at Eva...
Derrick Loadson:  It seems that there are folks about that want to ignore the fact that War is coming... thinking by forgeting about it... it will go away
Jack Darkenmyrr:  I read a volume or two on military theory left over by my father. The topic of which is better- a compasionate leader or the emotionless one- is difficult, it can be argued both ways sir.
Evanesa Kley:  *holds his gaze once more..unfaltering...her usual expression, a slight sincere mirth on her lips and in her eyes*
Derrick Loadson:  *looks at Jack with a wry smile
Derrick Loadson:  Yes...  there is a place for both...  There needs to be someone left after the War is one... a leader to rebuild.. and heal the land...
Evanesa Kley:  so you've said, Derrick...what has--how do you say it?---put the fire in your seat...?
Jack Darkenmyrr:  *looks over intently, interested to hear his answer*
Derrick Loadson:  *for a moment a light flashes in Derricks eyes...
 Derrick Loadson:  ...
Derrick Loadson:  Afore I came here...  I cared for nothing
Evanesa Kley:  *she gathers up the large receptacle and sips at the whiskey, listening to Derrick*
Derrick Loadson:  nothing but my own survival... and pleasure
 Derrick Loadson:  Nothin else mattered
Jack Darkenmyrr:  *nods, knowing the type*
Derrick Loadson:  Friends were something I never had...
Derrick Loadson:  It has only been recently...  that I have come to the conclusion... that I do not want the world to be ravaged by Blood
Evanesa Kley:  *blinks rapidly, her blonde lashes lowered for a moment as she looks over them at Derrick* this conclusion dawned on you suddenly then?
Derrick Loadson:  and...  I guess the only thing I could think ta do was try ta get folk to unite.. and train to fight so they at least won't get slaughtered
Evanesa Kley:  no....it is *you* who should speak freely Derrick...I know a bitty bit of the hearts of men...passion stirs the embers mostly and rightly
Derrick Loadson:  Well... maybe more gradually...  since I came here  to Layonara
Jack Darkenmyrr:  *gazes into the flames of a torch for a bit, his eyes seeing a battle fought and won, but always there is the price to be payed*
Evanesa Kley:  and for a man such as you...to make such a turn around....you must have had fire indeed...I would know of it...simply...
 Derrick Loadson:  ...
Derrick Loadson:  *looks at the table
Derrick Loadson:  I guess there are just some folk here I'd rather see alive than dead...  or worse... thats all
Derrick Loadson:  *looks in his mug stoicly...
Jack Darkenmyrr:  *nods slowly in understanding* comrades are worth fighting for eh?
Derrick Loadson:  I am finding that...   to be true
Evanesa Kley:  *she smiles widely, she sets the empty cup on the large table that's level with her chin* thank you Derrick...
Derrick Loadson:  Well...  jus think about it...  an let me know...
Jack Darkenmyrr:  *drains the rest of the whiskey, letting it linger in his mouth, the fiently glowing cigar in his hand, flat on the table as he gazes at the empty glass in his other hand thoughfully*
Jack Darkenmyrr:  Ye ll have my answer within a week sir... you make some very convincing arguments. I shall use the time to travel and see what it is we are fighting to preserve.

« on: January 22, 2005, 08:39:00 am »
my character is lvl 7, cleric of Rofireim.
The summons so far have improved pretty much only in ac and hp. The damage on the summon 4 (as in 4 th lvl spell, my highest) "high guardian" - is 1-3+3........ which no offense, for a tank with no special abilities is kinda pathetic :P Its attack bonus is so low, it can barely hit anything (it uses expertise all the time - which just makes it worse) - it has the feat "weapon focus : longsword" - too, yet none of them use longswords. ... I think something is wrong here... very wrong.

the lvl 1 spell is a fighter 2.
the lvl 2 spell is a fighter 4.
the lvl 3 spell is a fighter 4.
the lvl 4 spell is a fighter 4.

all have 1 attack... appart from the first two, they are useless offensively at the level they are gained, and defensively they arent much use other than to block a retreat either.  lvl 4 summons dies to an ogre berserker in about 3 rounds.....

weell actually the first 2 lasted so short at the time one gets them they were kinda useless too. Perhaps add 1 turn to the duration of all summon spells? That way, there would be a large diffference in duration at low lvl, but little at high lvl. It would make summons useable at lvl 1-4.

plenty of the custom great sword apperances appear to be unskinned (pureblack). Discovered while customizing my new mercurial greatsword at the craft hall.
