"The Arcane Alliance, I never knew such a group exsisted."

*Begins to add more to his letter*

I am very intersted in meeting this Arcane Alliance and learning more about their organization.
I look forward to the meeting and anticipate it to be a great opportunity for me.

Day 3:

I spent the greater part of this day exploring the area surrounding Hlint, searching for spell components and trying to get my bearings in general. I stumbled across a goblin scout on my journey to Fort Llast, whcih I managed to dispatch before he could warn any others in the area.  I discovered that the roads are pretty well maintained in this area and kept free from bandits and other unfriendly creatures, which makes travel more appealling. Spell components have been somewhat hard to come by however I have gathered enough sand to do me for quite some time. On my way back to Hlint I met up with a group on adventurers who were just starting their way to what they called the broken forest and had invited me along with them. I acceppted as I felt this would be a great learning experience and trail for what I had thought was a dramatic improvement in my arcane abilities. This was a major over estimation on my part and thank Lucendia that the adventurers were there to help me out of many situations that through my arrogance could have lead to a more fatal conclusion. I grow weary as I write these last few words and I shall retire for the evening. Though this entry is short the lessons learned from today shall forver be etched upon my mind. Those spellcastors were of incredable power, perhaps one of such power would be willing to take on an apprentice, I will learn all I can to sserve Lucinda and protect the weave, this is my vow I leave with.

Day 2:

I awoke in the room I went to sleep in today though I had not slept very well (I kept waking up to see if I was still in my room) with a rather sizable headache caused from a night of drinking. I did however feel a bit more at ease in my new surroundings as I have gotten to know the town some. So today I plan on setting out to find some way of earning a few coin so I may stay in an inn rather than on the street very soon. I was making my way to the crypts as I have heard that there were some undead foraging around in there and thought I might be able to make some coin by ridding the place of them, when I was stopped by a rather attractive elf. She warned me that entering the dungeons might be a bit hazardous at my current level of expertiese (that is a rather kind way of saying how green I was) and mention to me that she heard of a lady that might was rumored to have lost a book or something of that nature. I thanked Raestra and she offered to show me where the lady rumoured to be searching for a book was located. I accepted her invitation and together we went to find the lady.

Upon finding the lady, whose name turned out to be Florah, she told me that she had lost the tax book and it was very important that she get it back. She mentioned something about another fellow taking the book and that I should do what must be done which confused me as I did not quite understand what she had meant by that last comment, I offered to go and retrieve the tax book and Raestra offered to come with me. I was very thankful to have another elf as a companion on this journey and I enjoyed her company.

Our search eventually took us through the sewers, such a god awful place. the smell is the absolute worse thing I have ever experienced in my life and I pray to Lucinda that I never have to venture there again. After roaming around the sewers for what seemed an eternity and find naught but some filthy vermin, we stumbled into a large room. Raestra spotted something large moving towards us in the darkness and manouvered quickly away drawing the creature towards her by releasing a volley of arrows in its directing. I have never seen something so vile and disgusting in all my life as the creature I say this day. It had large fangs and crooked teeth, covered in fur, claws for hands, drooling and foaming from the mouth, truly grotesque. Following it was a group of vermin at its heels, all chasing Raestra. This allowed me to cast a sleep spell at the group causeing the majority of the vermin to fall sound asleep leaving the vile creature by itself. I had managed to launch a couple basic spells at the creature and dispath some of the sleeping group before they roused from the forced slumber, but Raestra was fighting the creature of wonderfully, with such skill and elven grace. Eventually the vile creature fell from one of Raestra's arrows and we had found the Tax book. We hastely made our way out of the sewers and back into town. Not a minute too soon, the fresh air of town was such a welcomed pleasure that I paused and took several more saviouring breaths. I than returned the book to Florah and she thanked me saying something about our little secret or something along those lines.

I thanked her and headed to the Wild Surge (planing on sharing a bottle with Raestra), on the way we ran into a group of seasoned adventures telling tales and reporting about Bloods army possibly amassing more troops into his army. I spent  most of the night listening to these tales and learning more about this land. I left the group in the very early dawn and retired to the inn, where I now sit at my little corner table, writing in my journal and reflecting on this days events.....

*A young elf sits at a table in the corner of the inn. He sits there meticulously writing out a note on a piece of parchment. Next to him on the table sits an open spellbook.*

*After a few minutes reading over the note and making sure that it was to his satisfaction, the elf gets up and posts the note on the board and retires to his room*

To all wizards,

I am seeking a high ranking wizard that is willing to take on an apprentice. I believe that I have within me great potential for the arcane abilities and that I could be of great service to Lucinda and help to preserve as well as make the Weave stonger. I have been studying magic and while I have made great progress on my own, I believe with the help of a master, my true talents would be brought out and my true potential could be reached. I can usually be found around Hlint searching for spell components or studying and preparing my spellbook.

Signed

Findecáno Calmcacil

May Lucinda guide you and the Weave protect.

General Discussion / Level and experience question
« on: August 01, 2005, 10:30:00 pm »
I just passed 3000XP (3049ish) and I am still at level 2. I thought at 3000 I would become level 3 but it says 5000 on my character record. I could be mistaken about the 3000XP mark but I'm not sure. My character is a mage if that makes any differance. If it's actually 5000XP for lvl 3 than cool, I was just wondering thats all. Thanks.

Day 1:

I awoke this morning lying in a grassy field. Now this would not have been so alarming except for the fact that I did lie down to go to sleep in a grassy field. I did however lie down to go to sleep in a boat that had left port in Waysend as I started my journey to become closer to the weave and to learn more of the magic that encompasses it. I had to find out more about this strange town that I now found myself a part of so I headed towards to only tavern in town, The Wild Surge Inn.

I found out a lot about htis place and the outlying lands from a friendly youg hostess at the tavern, her name was Doris. She told me that the town was named Hlint, and it was on the continent of Mistone. Doria also told me (after a few glasses of wine, mind you) that several other adventures had arrived in town recently under mysterious circumstances. Even more had claimed that they had been given a special mission by some dragon to try and save the world. By a dragon, Dragons don't even exsist in this world anymore and good riddance to them I say, all they did was cause trouble and bring about the deaths of lots of people, innocent people.

A most horrendous thing happened to me during a walk around this town. I witnessed the local pawnbroker murder  a halfling in broad daylight. I went over to question the pawnbroker about what had just occured when suddenly a paladin comes running up and accusing me of killing the halfling. I tried to explain my innocence and show him I don't did not even carry any weapon. Sadly this proclamation fell on deaf ears as the paladin pointed out that a mage is capible of killing without a weapon, I was trying to explain the paladin how I was but a apprentice mage and did not know any spells capible of doing that much damage when thankfully someone came to interject. He was a tiefling Maxi I believe his name was. He explained how the halfling was a bounty hunter that had been chasing him for a bounty that had been placed on him and how the pawnbroker had killed the halfling to help him escape. That sort of straightened everything out and I got to know the paladin whose name it turns out isn't paladin but Thuralin. Thuralin I believe has a very pure heart especially for one who confines himself with many laws and orders, and I believe a bond of strong friendship can be built in time, however the only one who knows this is time herself.

Alas, all this writing and the days events have disheartened and exhausted me, I think I'll order another drink and than retire to my room here at the Wild Surge, to raise my spirits and rest my bones...
