« on: November 14, 2015, 09:06:45 am »

Thistle Trading is going in with the first adventurers!

Yes as you would expect of the world's premier trading company, Thistle Trading will be opening an Ox at Vale while  a more permanent structure is prepared. But it will be business as usual from day 1. Our representatives will be on hand to deliver tools, specialist equipment and all other goods. We are proud to be associated with the Vale rebuilding project and have been voted Vale's preferred trading partner once again.

Food Fast right where you need it! (maybe that will catch on!)

« on: November 12, 2015, 04:13:18 am »

A hawk flits through the treeline from Vale. Sharp eyes observing the increasing activity, the sympathetic building and the presence of a Druid. They had been building, they were staying - the Druid was gathering nature to his will, Foresta should know but where was she. The Hawk heads for the Five Oaks Grove, The FOG within the Fog.

Trius finds a beaver who directs him to a very overgrown doorway with all the appearance of destruction and decay that is what remains of Vale and yet. So well concealed and overgrown this is no accident - it says Druid. Perhaps the dwelling below survives perhaps not.

Rumour Has It / Vincent continues his work
« on: November 04, 2015, 04:05:58 am »

Vincent continues his work with the Al'Noth as neema and Lola investigate and speculate. He too tries to hold his counsel for now. But as a grim silence prevails he finds the atmosphere toxic and needs defining "It's almost time to lock up this part of the enquiry and explore the scene - and then your party will really begin. I wonder how it will end...." He trails off apparently lost in some frightening thought of his own. He composes himself, wrapping his cloak about him, he returns his focus to the safer work to hand.

Trade and Market Hall / Hard on the heels of Maps for
« on: November 04, 2015, 04:08:43 am »

Hard on the heels of Maps for Traps - Maps for Traps 2 - everything must go. Here is testimony from Adam  Asdute, an adventurer.

'I must say I was not sure at first but I had collected some traps in the past and had no intention of using them -they were just taking up space in my Thistle built shed and I thought let's take them down to the friendly and convenient Thistle ox store and see. Well they could not have been more helpful or kind. Before you could say Har Jim Lad I had given them my old traps and they provided me with a superb quality and authentic looking pirate treasure map and useful clue scroll. It took me no time at all to follow the clues and find me a handsome treasure. I was amazed at how rich I was and all for a few old traps. But don't just take my word for it call by and see for yourself!'

Don't delay or you may miss out on the big treasure! Call in at your nearest Thistle Trading branch now.

Rumour Has It / Vorlich joined some others
« on: November 02, 2015, 07:49:17 am »

Vorlich joined some others responding to the cries for help - in Vehl you take what you get likely and it was a mixed bunch but Vorlich was probably still the ugliest. The household had all that was expected - fair to summarise they had their respective issues. It did not go entirely well, but the damage was mostly done before the first cry for help was issued. Vorlich could hold on to that thought surely.

Eventually they uncovered an unwelcome guest, a rather gruesome living  chest which had eaten the missing child. It tried it's best with the adventurers too. The parents survived the fight but not their housekeeper. Notwithstanding the unwelcome guest it appeared that the mother was trying to poison the housekeeper with a local candyman's poisoned wares. He in turn was not a very nice person. Vorlich opted to leave the confines of the city before reporting this matter via the Temple of Toran. The circumstances suggesting it may not be safe to report anything so troubling locally. Just another day in the big City, Vorlich gladly left it far behind.

Rumour Has It / Vincent listens as Lola
« on: October 28, 2015, 05:33:57 am »

Vincent listens as Lola discovers signs of tramsmutation..."This is what it used on this girl, sucked her to pieces. A fruit seller eh,We might look for signs of plant traces around the neck? eliminate some kind of strange plant. There have been sightings you know!

Found parts of her body all over the alley, a place you wouldn't think. A funny thing is the face has never been found, hands and feet and things like that, but no face. What do you think, something wanted a face? or just did not like hers?

Transmutation eh, this is going to be more like retracing her steps, see who, what she encountered - her past becomes our future...work for an investigator really?"

He also checks over the remains for signs of the Al'noth - extending the search to the room, just in case.

Rumour Has It / Vincent frowns as he watches
« on: October 27, 2015, 10:09:54 am »

Vincent frowns as he watches the newcomer and Lola. His eyes flicker to the remains laid out on the table. The tableau revealed giggles, laughter, and desperate death, such contrasting emotions may appeal to a Druid perhaps but..

"The spirits are moving today. Restless..hungry."

To the newcomer "May I introduce myself? I'm Vincent Coste. In a moment I'll show you the only real specialist in necromancy. Since I began my work what seems like a century a go so many strange and macabre things have occurred! Since then I have found dead things are not so dead as they first seem. And the living, myself, much nearer death, too close to ever present danger than we might hope for. To the matter in hand then, lest we forget?"

« on: October 24, 2015, 06:47:14 am »

Vincent acknowledges the exchange between the others taking the moment to peruse the shelves and make an assesment of the knowledge and interests of the occupant. "As I was explaining I had hoped to help in my own little way. This poor creature, such terrible times, a depth of depravity that brings a fearful chill even to this grim Town and it's woeful collective past experiences." He looks to the others. "I hope I can help you with my specialist skills in Necromancy, by your leave I would see what of the Al'Noth is at play here. Has this forsaken individual lost a face or been trying to find one? I doubt this is the end of the tragedy - do you? There may be such terrible times ahead of us too.""

Rumour Has It / A somewhat ugly greyish
« on: October 24, 2015, 06:39:01 am »

A somewhat ugly greyish coloured Deep Gnome slowed his otherwise brusque step. 'Fort Vehl is what it is' he thought 'and yet..a child...had not he been a child lost in the Deep and rescued by Gnomes. But Vehl. Time was running out for the distraught parents, he could see that. Was he not a champion of time, a servant of good deeds. Had he not saved time itself, hard to be sure what those engineers clever fellows had really done.' He had stopped now looking back at the pair stood in the street. He turned back."Gnomes shall under pin this effort - Fear not good people..we will prevail!" He walks back towards the terrified pair, his ugly untrusting demenour likely doing little to reassure them and yet rescue was maybe at hand. Precious time would tell.

Rumour Has It / A cloaked but well dressed
« on: October 23, 2015, 09:32:16 am »

A cloaked but well dressed figure catches the group at the doorway. One might consider his sudden appearance a little fortuitous, however he appears to present no physical threat, and has a demeanour to suit the premises in question. "Vincent Coste, specialist - I have arrived at the right time it seems? Perhaps I can be of some ..assistance...I have some knowledge....I have seen such terrible things...*he shudders, apparently involunarily, perhaps not.He offers a fixed smile. "Shall we." he adds, pointing towards the door.

Trade and Market Hall / Maps for Traps.Thistle
« on: October 17, 2015, 04:33:43 pm »

Maps for Traps.

Thistle Traders are delighted to make available a number of authentic pirate type treasure maps. These delightful maps come with a collector's edition set of clues - each carefully hand written by har lad sea dogs of the southern coast. Each map is bound to lead to some treasure or other and it is said there is a treasure of epic proportions among them. This is an opportunity not to be missed.

For a limited time only these maps will be available to traders bringing a selection of traps. 10 strong traps or  greater is the minimum standard per map. ( a larger selection of lesser traps may be accepted subject to conditions) Be sure to pack your spade and hurry along to take advantage of this once in a desert island lifetime type of opportunity!

Roleplaying / Creedo conquerors cede
« on: October 09, 2015, 05:28:11 am »

Creedo conquerors cede credence to collective collaboration.....or it was really good to see a group of role players out explorering parts of the world long forgotten and oft neglected. Good to see such a fine turnout, and glad to have made it for a while and apologies for my early departure but it was very late for me! Good job by all but naturally it was carried by the Gnomes :)

Till next time.

Rumour Has It / Vincent continues to prepare
« on: October 07, 2015, 12:32:45 pm »

Vincent continues to prepare for a specialist day, less worried than before and yet he muses as he gathers the tools of his trade, a sword here, a cloak there, rings of choice, all sparkling with the touch of the Al'Noth "Yes, yes I know it couldn't have been nothing! it seems like I am going crazy." He lifts a collection of belongings crammed into an impossibly small bag. "It's probably nothing but all night I've heard creaking thuds and what sounded like howls." He straps on a belt and instantly gains a stronger disposition - all the better to carry his ever burgeoning load."What does this mean..I know I shouldn't torment myself but..." He reaches for the door an unfinished thought trailing in his wake, lingering.

Rumour Has It / Vincent had grown accustomed
« on: October 02, 2015, 10:50:07 am »

Vincent had grown accustomed to the unusual. The unusual was normal now wasn't it. This is getting confusing he thought and reached for a morning drink to clear his head. But his back ached. He dreaded the prospect of sharing a search of his back with staff at the Inn. Things had a habit of getting out of hand - he had been forced to leave in something of a hurry last time, and the Inn a little worse for fire damage too.

People seldom understood the life of a specialist. He would have his familiar look but Tergiversitor was as usual of little help. A familiar with a mind of his own was little use really for most things. In this case he had ben absent for weeks and Vincent's repeated calls for him to return had been unsurprisingly unanswered.

He risked a look at his back with a small mirror he held for just such emergencies!

Rumour Has It / Vincent Coste the specialist
« on: September 29, 2015, 03:53:12 am »

Vincent Coste the specialist wizard made a sweep of the area in what was described as a professional and orderly fashion. He discovered a penguin. Now an ex penguin at the hands of bandits. There was wild surges of magic noted but no obvious cause. Stephen Peotr arrived to offer what assistance he might and entered the forest as Coste left.
