Character Submissions / Alec the Mute: Resubmit for Wizard Levels
« on: April 06, 2024, 07:24:14 pm »
Character Name: Alec the MuteCharacter Age: 21
Character Class:  ClericCharacter Race:  HumanCharacter Gender: MaleCharacter Alignment: Neutral GoodDeity Associated With: AragenCleric Domain: Knowledge, ProtectionCharacter Birthplace: Outskirts near Blackford CastleCharacter Biography:
Born from a couple of peasants in the Blackford Castle area, Alec was always interested in collecting information.  Due to the closeness of Blackford Castle and its library, Alec would listen in on discussions of various subjects.  One day Alec discovered a portal in the library that brought him to another bigger library.  Alec would spend days on end in this library reading and researching for whatever caught his fancy for that day.One day, when he was about 13, while riding horse, Alec was preoccupied with his thoughts and didn't notice a tree branch was hanging too low.  When the horse galloped under it, Alec was knocked off, with severe damage to his neck.  His parents, being peasants, could not afford extensive medical treatment, but somehow, Alec pulled through.Being bookish before this accident, Alec turned to the library with its multitude of books for solace.  One day, a couple of years later, he noticed a couple of men wearing a symbol of a scroll at the library.  Being naturally curious, Alec followed them around for a while until they noticed him.  When questioned, Alec demonstrated his knowledge and proficiency with information to these men.  They invited him to come travel with them. After a while, the priests of Aragen offered to tutor Alec in the ways of Aragen.  They brought him scrolls and books on a variety of topics.  Alec eagerly read through these scrolls and books, always looking for more information.  After five years of training and tutoring, the priests presented Alec with a necklace with a scroll on it, symbolizing his devotion to Aragen.Extra Credit:Height: 5'8"Weight: 160Alec has a scar across his neck from the accident with a tree.  He remains very quiet and reserved.  Since becoming a cleric of Aragen, Alec has gotten a tattoo of a scroll on his right forearm.Alec is mute from the injury to his neck when he was younger.  // Spell-casting is done with the Silent Spell feat, since he is mute.  All spells are 1 circle higher.Dogma:Alec is fully aware of Aragen's policy of collecting information.  He is loath to let any information pass him by.  Alec prefers non-violent ways, but will use a staff or sling to protect himself or knowledge.  Alec is non-judgemental, for the most part.

** New Information  **
What good, knowledge without the ability to acquire it? The world is a dangerous place, and one must be prepared to protect oneself to survive.  While faithfully adhering to Aragen's dogmas of non-violence, not changing or being changed by events, I have found myself bordering on heresy.  This cannot continue. Either I must change, or the ways of Aragen must change, but I know that gods change but seldom.  I have studied Al'Noth passively, only through the powers granted to me by Aragen, and I have seen people who channel the Al'Noth, and I am sure that I can apply my wisdom and experience into practicing this art.  May Aragen find me worthy!

Character Submissions / Character Submission - Reyne Sun-Badger
« on: March 24, 2024, 03:59:02 am »
Name: Reyne Sun-Badger
Age: 30
Class: Cleric 10-15 levels, Sacred Fist 5-10 levels
(Update: Reyne may be a pure Cleric instead, not sure! I've never played a Cleric or Sacred Fist, so I'm learning about it)
Race: Brownie
Alignment: NG
Deity: Prunilla
Domains: Plant, Earth

Biography and Description:
Rebellious and strong-willed as a child, the hot-tempered Reyne was quick to defend herself and the younger children from bullies and beasts, generally with fists and feet. As a teen, she was outraged at the challenges the brownies faced in maintaining safe havens against the dangers of less peaceful races. How can the clan plant seeds and nurture the growth until harvest, when dangers abound? A safe haven is needed! Nurtured by the worship and culture of Prunilla yet encouraged by her fearlessness and stubbornness, Reyne seeks to become a defender of her people, empowered by the divine might of Prunilla. She aims to strengthen her abilities as a guardian so she can ensure that the safe havens for the brownies can remain safe havens. Unlike her home-body brethren, she realizes that to find new safe havens and learn how to combat evil, she must travel and ally with explorers, adventurers, and warriors - for their protection and knowledge of the world and threats.

Reyne grew up in a secluded enclave on the outskirts of the Forest of Fog, not far from Castle Mask. Initially, her family did not support her mission, wishing for her to stay in the enclave and devote herself to gardening and family. However, her stubborn nature could not be tamed by their wishes. During a fight with her parents one night, in a fit of rage she swore to do away with her family name forever, devote herself to Prunilla, and take on the surname of Sun-Badger - symbolic to her of the type of tenacity and divine empowerment she imagined she needed to channel to fulfill her mission. She packed and left for Castle Mask - a place she had visited many times to deepen her prayers and training in the chapel to Prunilla and speak with and learn from the halflings tending the Mask Gardens, and the travelers who journeyed through the grounds. In the years since then her family has begrudgingly accepted her mission, though still worried for her safety.

1.  I have read the information on Prunilla, and I will play Reyne as a faithful
priestess of Prunilla to the best of my abilities.
2. Reyne sees herself as a protector of all that Prunilla values - safe haven of homes and families, gardens, and food growing. Although she does not conform to the principles of humility and passivity, she values these in her family and tribe. She seeks to empower herself so that her peaceful tribe can remain safe. At times she rests from her travels by joining with her tribe in planting, harvesting, and preparing feasts.
3.  Reyne wears brown and green earth colors. She wields a hand sickle, similar to the one she used to harvest grain and herbs. However, her mission as a protector overshadows the religious symbolism of Prunilla’s weapon of choice (hand sickle), so she utilizes her fists and potentially other weapons as needed. Of course, once she becomes a Sacred Fist, she’ll forego all weapons other than her divinely empowered fists and feet.

Character Submissions / new Character : Mouse
« on: March 17, 2024, 02:26:16 pm »
Name: Mouse
Race : Human
Age: 18
Class: Rogue/Fighter (equal split to level 10, then see how the RP goes. ( may PC to duelist)
Alignment : Neutral
Deity: None

Bio:

“That makes three this month.  Corath's fetid  breath what is going on?  The two large men load a stiff body of a third into cart and start up the street.

Mouse peers out from the well disguised nook she has dug herself beside the foundation of the nearest building.  She moves some bushes to cover the opening to her little home and checks both ways before slithering out.  Its time for the traders to take down their stalls at the market and sometimes they can't be bothered to pack up food that is going off or broken items and leave them in the town midden heap.  Mouse likes to get there early for the best finds.  Its how she keeps herself fed these days.   She could tell the town guards what is going on but then she'd be involved and they'd want to know how she knows what she knows.   She values her life more than that.

They call her mouse because, well she's small with nondescript mouse brown hair.  She can move quietly and fit into the smallest of places.  She survives on the crumbs that others leave behind.  She doesn't want to be a mouse but since her older siblings died along with their parents on the ship crossing , its been just her.  That was five years ago, Five very long years.  Cold winters, miserable summers, the wet and the dry she has survived.

She takes her small finding of some dodgy cheese and stale bread along with a dented old short sword back to her “home”.  As she picks off the mold and dunks the bread in some ale a drunk man tried to bribe her into his room at the inn with, she studies the sword.  Its appears to be just made of copper or at best bronze.  The edge is chipped and dull but she takes a whet stone and does her best to bring it back to functioning.  When its what she deems acceptable she places it carefully next a depression in the ground lines with dried grasses that serves as her bed.  Winter is approaching and the sun sets much earlier so it will soon be dark.  Its a full moon tonight so she can't sneak away to the militia training grounds to test it.

“Well, well, what have we here”   She awakens to the bright light of a torch being shone into her den.  “Looks like we found the rat.  She ain't the tastiest of morsels but she looks like she'll be a bit 'o fun before we turn her in to the boss. “ the torch owner, a very dirty obese man dressed in hide armor leers at her as two similarly dressed  dirty lackeys try to see around him into the hole.

She's appears to be cornered but Mouse is not without her tricks.. One hand searches the area next to her bed for the handle of the sword, the other reaches for a small knapsack and a pouch.  With a smooth movement she flings the pouch at the opening to her home and the area fills with choking powder. While the men sputter and cough and have to close their eyes she moves a old wooden shield from behind her bed that reveals a tunnel  just big enough for her to wriggle into.  She crawls as fast as she can toward the other end and pops her head up under a bush about ten feet from her home.  She take a sad look a the home she's had to leave but quickly and quietly gets to her feet, grasping the old sword , small shield and her pack and  while clutching  the ring around her neck, whispers a prayer and starts away.

Then she feels it.  Right between her shoulder blades.  A piercing pain that makes her vision go white.  Her mind reels.  No, not again.

When she opens her eyes its dawn.  She's lying with her pack and her sword at the foot of a large standing stone.  She reaches around to feel her back. Sure enough there is small scar where the arrow had been.  The one that pierced her back, the one that killed her.  Only it didn't.  This is not the first time she's awoken feeling ill, but alive at the foot of this stone.  The stone the guards pulled a dead body from the foot of just the other morning.  She should be dead but she isn't.  Stone bound.  That was the whispers she'd heard.
She can't stay here .  Her home is compromised and who ever found her knows they “killed “ and when the body disappears, well who know what they'll do.  No she has to leave.  Start over again.

She slings her pack over one shoulder the the small shield over the other, tucks her sword into her makeshift rope belt and sets out onto the road.   Who knows where it will take her?

Character Katrien Hommell

Her original Bio is lost in mists of the old forms  She is currently Bard (23) and Rogue(8).
I would like to add 5-6 levels of Fighter class.  I am aware that once I start adding fighter I must add at least 5 levels.   My final intended split will be Bard (26), Rogue (12) Fighter (6)
Kat's been singing for some fighting parties in various adventures and lamenting about how squishy she is and wants to toughen up so she feels she can contribute better .  I've re-started her journal to reflect this.

General Discussion / Adventure's Club Outing
« on: January 03, 2024, 08:49:38 pm »
Meet by the fire in Center and we'll decide where the adventure goes depending on the skills of the party assembled

12 (noon)  EST  9am (PST)  5pm GMT

Preferred characters level 16 and under but having a very skilled guide (Uber Epics) would be nice too

A chance to get to know some of the lower characters and give them a chance to do stuff while not solo

This is a player driven event though a GM may poke there head(s) in and make it more interesting if they want to.

Want to include as many as possible that are interested, so if this time does not work - suggest another or post your name and timezone and we can see what  compromises we can come up with

Long-running Quests / Vizer's Tablet - Renamed Khnumhotep I
« on: November 25, 2023, 01:11:23 am »
Town Criers in many locations have been hired to publish the following message:

Arthur Widdleford is missing! A well-known archeologist specializing in hieroglyphic languages from ancient Mistone civilizations. The curator of a small Port Hempstead Museum called the "Vizer's Tablet" is offering a modest reward."

----------

Anthony stands outside the Vizer’s Tablet in the cool Port Hempstead evening smoking his thin cigarillo. The sound of an anvil can be heard in the distance in one of the districts many craft halls. The sweet smoke circles his head as he watches two ladies run by him. He starts to say hello, but they are out of earshot too quick. He briefly thought they were going to stop at the alleyway to his small museum, but suddenly discounted that as they passed by. He mumbles to himself “Where are you, Arthur? As he turns and walks to his museum/research shop. An exquisite bottle of red merlot from the Succession Kingdom is waiting for him.  *He does not notice the cloaked and hooded figure melding into the shadows of a nearby doorway watching him intensely. *
