Quest: No Tinks, No Problem!

Rumours spread of a lonely pixie flying around at the Stormcrest Crossroads, crying out for help. Just what could have happened to her to make such a scene ... any why or when did the portal to Dalanthar start pulsating?
Are there any brave adventurers around offering help to a pixie in distress? Who knows, it might even turn into an interesting adventure...

Does Friday March 19th work for y'all? I think that's the next time I can run a session that starts around 3pm EST.

Also, if for some reason I don't find and reward you for the last session between now and then, I'll get the rewards to everyone on that session.

I would also like this. and if possible have things like the book of patterns stack, or work for multiple bolts of cloth.

NWN Ideas, Suggestions, Requests / make trivial items craft in one go
« on: January 29, 2021, 10:44:14 pm »
Would it be possible to have all the trivial items craft in one go, and stack inside the crafting tool?

Example, presently crafting iron spike stud are only done 1 by 1 even if you load up the tinkering.

would be nice if trivial items could be made in one go and just stay on the tool used to make them so they don't drop on the floor.

Development Journals and Discussion / Re: Cytheria's discoveries

I did it!! I fed the cows! I have decided that whenever I see cows, I shall feed them. Finding enough grain to be able to feed all the cows will be difficult. At least I get milk out of it, and their moo's make it clear that they enjoy the food.

Who would have thought that Center would have so many adventurers traveling through the town! Shortly after exploring Center, I met another elf named Sorin. It was nice to see another elf, and it seems like we will be sticking together for a time. The crafting hall still had rats, so Sorin and I cleared it out. It was rough, and the catacombs were even worse, but we made it out!

We left Center for a bit and found another town. In the town, I found chickens!!! They didn't seem to want the grains I had, but I was made aware that they wanted corn. So I dragged Sorin into another area to explore so I could find corn. After finding the corn, nearby orcs attacked, and we barely survived. Right after that, I saw a skunk and tried to calm it down, but Sorin must have spooked it- he does look pretty spooky. Now Sorin can be smelled from a mile away. Not pleasant at all!

Sorin and I made it back to Center, and we saw a dwarf with the cutest Ox named Mux! The dwarf seemed a little hesitant and didn't seem to appreciate the fact that Sorin and I were elves, but perhaps it could have been the skunk smell as well. I offered him milk, and he took it! He introduced himself as Belgar, and he talked to Sorin while I was petting Mux. They decided to do some adventuring, so I went along with them. Belgar proved himself to be an excellent combat dwarf and ensured that Sorin and I were safe and healed up. The three of us fought hobgoblins, and he helped us complete a few quests. After the adventuring, he took us to a city, I believe it was called Port Hempstead. There the three of us met another adventurer. She was quite small, I believe someone mentioned her being a brownie. Her name was Martlet, but she had an Ox named Tristan and the tiniest, cutest pony named Kara. I squealed like the druid that I am! We even made a deal where I got to brush Tristan and Kara! Best deal ever!

After the four of us talked in the city, we all went to rest or craft. The next day I went to every shop I could find in the giant city, but could not find anything that could be used to feed the cows and chickens! Once again, I dragged Sorin along with me in hopes that I could find something that could be used to feed the animals.

Not far into the journey we met a well know adventurer called the Bird Lord, and he even had wings! Yet he refused to let me give him cow milk- how peculiar. The three of us protected lions from a nearby threat and then went to a town and took care of a crypt. After that, Sorin began to question the Bird Lord about everything! It became an interesting topic of conversation about Katia and her relation to nature. Shortly after, Sorin decided he needed to do some studying for his wizard spells. The Bird Lord showed me where to get some corn and how to make bread so I could feed the chickens with it! Suddenly a chicken came up to me in Center, though I don't remember there being one beforehand. It let me feed it the freshly baked cornbread and gave me some eggs. I sure do love feeding the animals. After that, I rested by the campfire while the Bird Lord continued his adventure.

I sure have met a wonderful group of adventurers so far, and I can't wait to feed more cows and chickens!

Introduce Yourself / New player saying hello

Hello Layonara!

I am MusicalSiren, and I hope to soon be playing as Cytheria Raybeam. Though I'm a new player, I'm excited to be getting into this game. My dad has played this from the VERY beginning so I look forward to seeing what this game is all about.
I'm fairly new to roleplaying but I sure do love it! I guess I kind of take after my dad in that way-though I'll never admit it.
I look forward to meeting this community!

Introduce Yourself / New player saying hi
« on: December 11, 2020, 06:45:43 am »
Hello

Chuckles_McChuck is my husband and after realizing we haven't played games together in a very long time (since having children) we decided to rectify that.

As I mentioned in the character submission, roleplaying a character is still new to me.  I'm a person who enjoys the simple characters, like a fighter, and jump right into the adventuring side of these games.

My husband says this is currently a very friendly community and I'm interested to see what's in store.  He has told me how fascinating it has been to refamiliarize himself with the world as areas get updated beautifully.  While I won't be sharing the exact same experience, I'm interested to see what apparently consumed a lot of his time prior to meeting him.

Thank you Orth for helping me get back into my original forum profile!  It's good to be connected again and I'm sure it will take me a few day/weeks to re-acclimate to the server, but am looking forward to catching up with what's new on Layonara and old playing companions, as well as making new friends...see you all in game!

The human leaves the dwarves talking and the other meditating. Itching to try his blades he heads back down the mountain by himself. Finally making it back to the fire near civilization with no resistance he finds a gnome who enlists his aid back up the mountain to take on the giant King himself, he says.

After a few hours of running around in the mountains they find more help and finally beat in the door and slowly make  their way to the King. Annoyed that his lackeys are not killing us off he comes at us and puts up a good fight. Finding a few ingots on him we make our way back out where the story teller meets his demise at the entrance with a well placed spell he is knocked down and beaten into the ground by several giants. Raised and healed they move out, split the loot at a safe spot and think about the stories to share at the tavern among friends.

Martlet, Johnny, Van, Glitch Gumbo, Lil, Abi defeated the giant king.

A party of 4 makes camp  in a nearby cave on Thunderpeaks, one sits meditating, two red bearded dwarves are discussing the best tactics to get out and a  human sits sharpening his twin blades.

Thanks for all the help folks. It was quite a nice boost and I'm doing okay. Starting to get back in the swing of things and hoping to move forward to get Layonara on the latest NWN and perhaps change some of the dynamics of entry into the world....

General Discussion / Returning player - UK time zone
« on: June 27, 2020, 07:38:52 pm »
Hi all,

I thought I would hop back online here after many, many years away (and spending some time on a NWN2 server in between) - with the current pandemic going on I find myself with a lot more time at home these days!

This is a message mainly to say hi and also to ask if there is a particular time/ day where the server has a few people logged in? I am in the UK and so timings have always been difficult, but as I said, lots of time on my hands so I'm able to be logged on into the small hours of the morning if that will help.

If anyone remembers Karn/ Deon/ Elzhabehl you might find them hanging around again now  ;D (particularly Karn who was always my favourite!). I'm looking forward to getting back into this community that I've never been quite able to forget even after all these years - see you soon!

Hey James,

I don't know what month this will cover, but I pitched in, as well.  Thanks for keeping Layo up.  Hope you start to feel better soon, and work returns quickly.
