Wild Surge Inn / Raven Trade Compagny Friendship Trip #3
« on: July 11, 2008, 05:55:10 pm »
* A post is tacked up on the message boards across various Inns Taverns and otherwise visited places by adventures *

The Raven Trade Compagny have decided to begin to host a series of gatherings, meant to illuminate and educate the infrequent adventurer in the dangers of the world. These gatherings will show and demonstrate the tenacity and sheer determination that all adventures are born with to survive. This is the third of such gatherings.

We hope that these trips will serve as a breeding ground for new friendships across the races and beliefs. Everyone is welcome to meet and talk with us near Stormcrest Crossroads.

A such gathering is held here: Raven Trade Compagny Friendship Trip

There are no rules for any person wanting to join this trip. Where we go will be dependant on the youngest adventure being with us. Maybee we will just talk, maybee we will seek dark dungeons. Its up to you to come here and tell us what you want.

Resources and items of value will be determined by need before greed. No items gained from these trips, are allowed to be sold/traded for profital use, and no resources will be given to people without a need for it.

If you have any questions, suggestions or comments, feel free to send a bird to me.

Lin'da Sul'kolindo on behalf of the Raven Trade Compagny.

These gatherings will show and demonstrate the tenacity and sheer determination that all adventures are born with. This is the second of such gatherings.

A such first gathering is held here: Raven Trade Compagny Danger Trip #2

 Now a few small rules:

Because of the destinations travelled, the Ravens will hold the right to deny people if they are acting reckless or if they are otherwise known to cause danger to people.

We expect people to be of a mature experience, those attending can hold their own. Everyone can join in Hempstead, but due to whatever place we travel to, we may deem some inadequate to join along on the trip because of the danger involved. This is not to limit anyone to join along, but more to protect you and us.

Resources and items of value will be determined by need before greed. No items gained from these trips, are allowed to be sold/traded for profital use, and no resources will be given to people without a need for it.

// If RP is not initiated by the player either IG or with a letter, you will not be invited along, its as simple as that.

General Discussion / Questing
« on: June 27, 2008, 06:47:05 am »
Lately theres something that have me worried.

There seem to be alot of quests going on, for all level ranges. Thats the good thing, but there seems to very very little of quests for highlevels specificly etc. level 21+ people.

I understand the need to make quests for lowerlevels, because of the encounters in such quest would be to easy for higher levels. But I dont understand why most of the quests that higher levels can join, tends to be open for all?

We can all agree on that higher and lower level players RP just the same, good or bad, so it have to be encounter wise were talking. I would like to see some more quests designed for higherlevels that have encounters tailored for them.

Chongos quests series with his 26+ level limit shows that there is alot of people out there that wants/can play in these types of quest. Lots of RP, great fights and a beautyful story. Lets see more of that coming our way.

As a result hereof, the experience of the person needs to be abit higher than we normally expect of the average adventurer. We expect you to be atleast of season 21 or greater.

Resources and items of value will be determined by need before greed. No items gained from these trips, are allowed to be sold for profital use, and no resources will be given to people without a need for it.

// These rules are in to protect you the player, against certain death and/or SS loss. We are not trying to limit anyones access to these events, but we can not with good conscience bring a level 20 with 9 SS lost. At level 21 you will atleast have had a chance to remedy this with the SMD feat.

Also if RP is not initiated by the player either IG or with a letter, you will not be invited along, its as simple as that.

Wild Surge Inn / ** Voon Loom, Cleric of Beryl have passed away **
« on: April 11, 2008, 05:36:53 pm »
* The title draws you neared to the parchment that have been sat up on the most common places of worship in the lands and major inns. *

Cleric of Beryl Voon Loom have passed away this Sunra, Junar 1, 1431. He was carried by Kobal Bluntaxe on his shield, and followed suit by the very people He to the end protected with his death.

His deeds will be remembered, and his sacrifice to his beliefs and the city of Stone. Stone a city that were rebuild from being under the occupation of Bloodstones forces, with pure determination because of Voon's unselfish donations and tireless efforts. This city will be he resting place in his death. He leaves his only family, his brother Boon.

I urge everyone that have known him, to write here to celebrate a new chapter in his life, a place where he can do as much good, as he did here on Layonara with us, his friends.

Rest in Piece old friend.

Alright I found a workaround for those of you outthere like me, who may or maybee didnt get the icons to work. It requires abit of editing in the layo_controlV3r3.hak . But its nothing to be afraid of.

First off, make a copy of your layo_controlV3r3.hak and rename your old one to something like layo_controlV3r3.bak. Its better to have a working copy lying around, if/when it goes wrong. Or you can simply download the working layo_controlV3r3.hak again here.

Then you need to download the three icons that Gulnyr made, you can find those here. You also need a hakpak editor. A very simple one can be found here.

Alright now that you got all your basics you need to first open your layo_controlV3r3.hak in your editor. By scrolling down in the list you will come across 3 files called is_BracStorm.tga, is_CrackOrb.tga and is_Tempest.tga

Mark those three files and remove them, you right-click and press remove.
Then at the top there is a option to add files. Click it and select the files that Gulnyr made instead. Save your hakpak and fire nwn up, it should then work with these colored icons instead.

A reminder to people. You do this at your own risk, and if there is a possible  update to Layonara where the layo_controlV3r3.hak is getting exchanged for a new one, you will most likely need to do it all over again.

I hope this have been helpfull. If you need a hand with it, send me a pm, or catch me on IRC.

Cheers and happy spellweaving.

Fixed Bugs / Dont be scared Nibor
« on: April 11, 2007, 06:17:45 am »
I took the time, to go through all 164 post here, and verify if they had actually been put in an update, and they all have, with a few exception, but they have already an active bug report, so no need to have duplicates. Then I moved them to the Fixed bug forum.

I have also moved all post that you have marked as: "To be actioned"to this forum instead. This will let you look at them in peace, and will let you assign bugs to people faster than to look at all the mess in the Bug Report Forum.

Now, this forum title might not apply to as being in the next update, so I thought perhaps a new title like, "work in progress" or "To be Actioned".

I hope this will make it easier to squish bugs, and knows how far along we are.

« on: April 02, 2007, 02:07:17 am »
Bug Report

Description: This is a clear and specific explanation of the bug, how it occours, what it effects, and how you can see it ingame. Dont be afraid to go into little nitty details, and the more technical terms you can use, the better

Verified: This place is reserved for bug moderators to verify that it is indeed a bug that have been posted about. Incase a moderator cannot replicate or verify the error, but it is clearly a error, this will need to be verified by the person who posted the bug report, with a screenshot or ingame.

Reproducable: Here is where you write if the bug can be reproduced, meaning that if a bug makes you able to walk through walls, are you able to do this all the time, or was it a single time thing.

Introduce Yourself / Who is Blackguy
« on: March 14, 2007, 03:10:16 am »
My realname is Stefan Bakmann, and im a Dane. Already there you need to think, theres something wrong with that man.

Im 26years old, and live in a small city called Grenå. I live there with my girlfriend throug 7 years Mette, who is a nurse in the city.

I work as a IT-Technician for a compagny that sells eletronic medical journals for resident, and special doctors. This involes alot of driving aroundin the country, but I enojy this berak from the daily office work, and it gives me time to enjoy my country in a diffrent way than i could normally.

I started played games on the internet with Counter-Strike, actually First Person Shooters were my big passion back in my early days, starting with Wofenstein 3D, Doom, Doom II, Quake, Quake II, Duke Nukem, and so on. Thats also were I got my nickname from, Blackguy.

After a hectic life playing those games, I had to settle down, and find new ways of enjoying myself on the net. That was when I remeber I had a old game lying oni my shelf, called Neverwinter Nights. I dusted them off, and proceeded to install the game on my computer. I can't remember the way I got tuned into Layonara, but i think I may have looked at a top10 list of some sort, and I was immediately hooked. This was back in the late summer of 2004.

Anyways I had a few affairs with other types of MMORPG's on the internet. Dark age of Camelot, who I am stil not sure why I left, becaus it had the best PvP on the net any game could offer. And of course like the rest of the world I played WOW.

But I came back, because people from this community kept poking at me. Can you imagine that, people that you barely know, keeps writing to you 2½ years later, simply because you had a connection ingame. I think thats bloody amazing, and thats partly why I came back, to get that kinda friendships again on this server. So my thanks goes out for the G-man, Reventage and Ed who helped me settle in, after this long break.

But this time I wont be so easy to get rid off, so I hope your ready for me.
