Rumour Has It / A Jolly Roger is hoisted over 102 Hlint
« on: July 13, 2022, 10:21:37 pm »
Sipping on his morning coffee, the realtor thumbs through his ledgers and is suddenly startled when the door swings open, crashing nearly off its hinges.

"I need a place to lay low, nice an private loike. no questions asked," grumbles the sullen one-eyed dwarf through a long black matted beard.  The stench on his breath a sickening sweet mix of rye and bloodlust.

"That will be a hefty order sir... for on such as you? Fifty-Thousand."  the realtor chortles, expecting this ill-kept vagabond to be priced out of the market.  "And we don\t offer lines of credit"

"Fifty Thousand? That all?" the dwarf casually pulls open a loop from his enchanted bag and digs through its contents as a prospector of many things. "Ye take coin, emerald, mithral, ruby or skulls?"

"Just the coin, thank you." The merchant simmers.

With a jingle, a single burlap sack, stained with the blood of countless giants, ogres, trollocs and various other beasties lands with a crack on the table, which creaks and buckles under its weight.

"You could have just had a bank note issued... it's two doors down you know"

"Yeah, I know! Now get to counting, I ain't got all day!"

And with that, the dwarven pirate chortled and marches off to his new home overlooking the lake of bountiful carp.  The lawn soon begins to clutter with the skulls of various exotic monsters, artfully placed as any garden gnome.

A new reign of terror begins.

Going to be unavailable until after New Year's.  With the holiday season, work, a massive influx of RL and dealing with some mental health issues, I will be busy until at least then.  Hold the fort while I'm gone.-Brewmaster

Just for Fun / I Found ShadowTrek!
« on: October 10, 2016, 03:04:00 am »
My old Star Trek Universe expansion pack, collection of rules systems, psionic abilities, races and ships designs I wrote up about 10 years ago for use with Shadowrun 3's Ruleset!  One day during Spring Break in college I decided to lock myself in my room, binge watch every Star Trek episode known to man and use the ShadowRun core system for combat for a total campaign coversion to the Star Trek Universe.  Took about 2 weeks!  I used the Psionic handbook from 3E as the basis for the psionic traditions, Psychoportation, Telepathy, Psychometabolism, Clairsentience & Psychokinesis, with different stats dictating their usage, as sort of a "magic" system for the setting, which used Shadowrun style fatigue drain and power levels.  I was really pleased with how Astral Projection had 6 different variants, one for each discipline to make an extra spin on the classic out of body experiences.  Still can't find my master gear list though, and advanced rules on personal shield and armor systems as well as my advanced rules on ship combat, warp speed travel and other hot topics.  Some additional races were also plucked from Deadlock 2 and the more obscure animated series/comics portion of Trek lore. (Q is not included as his role is always played by the DM!)When we played way back, the party commanded a Klingon Bird of Prey.  Led by Az-Ptol and his team of Klingons with Skabot playing a Psychoportation gifted Gorn Engineer.  He'd mostly hiss and slurp at the engines, beat them with a giant wrench and when they still didn't work, he'd grab them and channel Wesley Crusher/Traveller psionic powers to push them beyond Warp 8, sometimes glitching and getting them stranded in parallel realities.  Good times!Consolidated it to one file and attached it for any interested Shadowrun players or folks who are interested in seeing what obsessive Trekkie GMs do in their spare time instead of running off to Miami Beach.

General Discussion / Let's quest!
« on: September 20, 2016, 08:08:19 pm »
Here's the deal, I got tomorrow and the next day off.  Wednesday and Thursday.  Been doing triple hours at the shop so this was an unexpected boon with a new hire!  (and I thought I'd have to be covering hours for the one I just booted :P )So tomorrow night will be another wacky, zany, non cannon expose of Bremaster's Madness.  A freeform quest where you do a sort of cullinary scavager hunt with unexpected obstacles with a mister Harakat Smok.  The enigmatic mystical man of many wonderous pipeweeds.  Alchemists and nature specialists might have a leg up on this one!  As he seeks ingredients for the most soothing and special blends and some inspiration for new flavors!  Halflings, alchemists and nature folks as well as pipeweed afficiandos may be especially interested in his reward, which comes in coin cosmic possibilities.I hope I can extend a thursday night possibility for my next totally cannon and awesomely hinted at series intro.  Eyes in the Dark.  As you may have noticed, many of the cats of Center are watching some of your actions with a strangely attuitive presence.    A few of a certain legendary adventurer bloodlines also have been pestered by these forces.  Some even have been stricken mad with hallucinations and portents of woes to come.  The Eyes in the Dark are ever watching, and the claws rise up behind them, threshing at the very tendrils of sanity.  When undeath quests are overdone to death, do not forget that He is also known as Baron Madness. *insane GM cackle*Those already involved or interested how many can hop in thursday the 22nd?  The dawn of another 3-6 session Brewmaster series involving the True Madness of Corath?

General Discussion / Custom Voicepack Unlocker
« on: August 19, 2016, 07:37:42 pm »
By popular demand (well ok, Thoven PMing me to remind me to put this up) here's the file needed in your override directory to make a new character with a custom voice ala Grovel, Kurn, Gromak, Annie, etc.  Bear in mind you only get the main voice options and not a lot of the ones like exploration or tasks, etc.  Still fun to play with if you find one that fits your character concept pretty well!

General Discussion / Reach out and find an oldtimer!
« on: July 01, 2016, 04:53:45 am »
Howdy folks!  With Rainstorff back in the mix after all these years, it's been excellent seeing some old blood show up.  Decided to hop on Facebook and ye olde email inbox to find some other old timers and get them back in the game.  So if any of you players out there still keep contact with some of the old faces that graced layo in the past, give them a holler and I'll get something whipped up on the GM side of things.  In any case, welcome back Rainstorff! -Brewmaster

General Discussion / New Brew Quest times!
« on: February 15, 2016, 02:05:13 pm »
New job has finally stabilized.  Unfortunately my new schedule has me waking up at 2:30am to get to work at 4am est.  And there is a LOT of unforseen random overtime.  Good for the bank account, hard on the sanity and availability.  Looking at a new Layo Quest start time of about 4pm to 7pm EST, keeping it safe with a good buffer just in case they have me staying until 2-3 ish.The next one will be the trial for Bolga, everybody there was mostly available 8pm est.  Checking to see how many people who worked on that series can make it for a 4pm est session on Wednesday, Thursday or Friday evevning.  Possibly Saturday evening.  Sunday is almost always crazy overtime and I am nearly psychotic after that shift, so lets avoid that day. ;)

General Discussion / Daylight Saving's Time!
« on: November 01, 2015, 09:03:20 am »
In our infinite wisdom, we have decided to allot the entire world one extra hour to sleep in this morning.  Sadly, the patch must be manually downloaded to your personal watches and alarm clocks, so set those dials back by one hour today!  Please note that you may need to adjust the gamma levels in your video settings while driving to work for the next few months.

« on: September 07, 2015, 03:42:02 pm »
Got quite a few tells saying that they wouldn't be able to make it today as it's Labor Day.  Family obligations and such.  So I'll be pushing it back a day for tomorrow on Tuesday 9/7/15 at 8pm EST.  Sorry for the inconvenience for those looking for it tonight!
