Hello everyone, sorry I have not been on to much.  Not to long after I started playing Layo again I got a call to start work again.  I have been working a lot of hours.  That soon should come to end yet again.  They say two more weeks and we will all be layed off again :-)  So I should have more time on my hands.  I am sorry for the delay in answering the PM's.  Ok I am off to find some food, a hot shower, and some sleep.

Ask A Gamemaster / Question About Undead Slayers
« on: March 06, 2010, 11:45:48 pm »
Ok this was sometime ago, but when Q became an undead slayer for Toran there was a little oath Q took.  He also took a oath for the Shinning Hand.  I remeber when he took the first Oath  (this was back before the changes to Toran)  It went something along the lines that Hunting and destorying undead was a Shining Hands First Priorty no matter what stood in the Shinning Hands way.  (Toran understood that destorying undead took its toll on the undead slayer and forgave more then usuall on what it took to destory the undead (Most to all of the shinning Hand has bouts with depression))).  Second a Brother or sister in dire need (meaning Shinning Hand members) took prestince over your own needs at that time.  Third what happens in the pursit of the undead would be keeped a quite as possable but must be keeped in written record keeped in the Valt only to be seen by other members.  There were other things that went along with it but it had been so long.

I would like to know is this still in effect?  I mean should we not have a guide line to kind of follow when going after undead.

Mix was my GM I will pm him to try to remeber more.

Just a question

Rumour Has It / Awaken
« on: January 25, 2010, 06:04:10 pm »
*A women on the street tells a tale she heard from her sister.  She tells it to a street merchant but loud enough you can hear it.  About a strange man awakening from a poison comma.  Her sister said the strange man was there in the earlier moaning, naked covered in mud and grim, many years ago.  They figured him to be a beggar that someone had a hard feeling for and was done wrong to.  She continues telling how the man awoke*

*The wind was howling, with the distance roar of thunder and lightning. The rain pounds the rooftop of the building. A man lays in a bed motionless, with all the signs of being dead. Even the nurse that checks on him holds a mirror up to his mouth to make sure the moisture forms on it. The crash of the lightning and thunder come closer and closer. *

*The nurse takes a sponge from the bowl of water to clean his arms. She loses her grip and expects his arm to fall limp to the bed. To her amazement it only falls a few inches. His eyes twitch, and his face has some motion once again. The nurse runs off yelling for the head priest. *

"Come quickly, I think he is awakening" She yells
and soon she returns with the head priest. To both their amazement the man sits on the corner of the bed, his eyes fully awake and looking in to his hands. The priest, and the nurse run to him checking him carefully.

"Do you remember who you are? how you got here?" The head priest speaks up.
The man tries to stand but his body is too weak to allow him to do that. He tries to form words but it is hard to speak as if his lips have forgotten how to move. They help the man back in to bed and lay him down.

"You were poisoned, very powerful indeed. We found you on the doorsteps covered in mud and dirt. You almost died here many of times" The nurse speaks up..

*The man's eyes look blankly into the air for a few minutes. He grabs the nurse's arm, motions for her to come closer. He speaks into her ear.*

"Send word for Peanut and Rose Blair a Toran Priestess..... Tell them Q is looking for them." he says before allowing his eyes to close once again..

*The nurse and Priest looking at each other. The nurse leaves the room writing a note to a messenger to be delivered to the temple in Fort Llast.*

"My sister was charged to deliver the message, my Sister delivered the message to the temple in Fort Llast but left it there.  It seamed neither were there but the head Priest said he would deliver it to them."  The women  on the street says.  "Strange that is all I am saying, by all account the man should be dead, but my sister says he is doing well and is gaining his strength everyday."

*you wonder could it be true?  No, noway... *

Just for Fun / The Tree
« on: December 12, 2009, 07:30:01 pm »
Well we when out shoping for the best christmas tree we could find.  3 stores and 4 lots later.  (Just keep repeating I love my wife over and over in my head).  We finnaly found one.  Payed for it, throw it in the back of the truck and drove it home.  Did not by the stand for the tree. 1 there just to darn much, and 2 I own to many stands.  One of the stands I owen got to fit right?

Got it home followed the instruction telling me to cut 2 inchs off the bottom of the tree.  Pulled out the many base I own.  Looked at the base of the tree and then the tree bace holder.  Scrach my head, grab the biggest base I got.  Too small for the base of the truck of the tree.  Trim the brak down from the trunk.  Still to big....

Get back in to the truck drive back to the tree lot get a bigger base.  Ouch they charge more when you dont buy it with the tree.  Ask if it not to late to return the tree I bough from them earily.  Got Laughed at.  Drove home.  Go to put the base on and what do you know two of the tree branchs are in the way by 2 inchs to seat the tree in to the base.

I cut the two branchs off put the base on.  I stand the tree upright to tighten the eye bolts in to place to keep the tree up right in the base.  I figure out a problem.  The two branchs I trimed off, left two gapping holes in the tree now.  So I flip the tree back overcut some more off this tree.  It was a 8 foot tall tree before I started.

A very long story, but I trimed some here and some there stood the tree up put it back down, trimed more.......

The tree is know ruffly 5 foot tall (Wife and kids not to happy about).  Give or take a few inchs.  No major holes in the tree (makes wife really happy).  But the new base I bough is now to big.  I used the first base I pulled out.  I will save the bigger base for next year.  (makes me and my pocket book very unhappy).

Just though I would share this...  Maybe this will bring a smile to someone's face, and brighten there day..

Rumour Has It / Fort Llast
« on: December 28, 2008, 02:48:01 am »
A old man dressed in common clothing, and a hood pulled slighty over his face, walks around the streets of this great Fort.  A beatuifull halfling women stands beside him, with a halfling child holding her hand.  He seams to be looking at the temple with a half smile.

He stand in quite using what seams to be his last bit of strength holding himself up with the help of his staff.  The staff looks to as worn as he is.  The years have not been kind to him.

He spots a bench and they make there way to it.  He waits to be seated after the lady and the child.  He seats slowly and takes her hand in to his. He smiles to her.

They sit there when the boy jumps down and starts to run and play.  The man and women laugh, smile, and beam with pride of the boy.  People walk past turning there heads to take a second look.  Not becouse of the boy playing.  Not becouse of the human and the halfling holding hands.  It might just because the man might look like someone that they once knew.

The man begins to speek to the women, "My dear time runs short for me, but we always knew this would happen."  She smiles up to him knowing his words were true.  "I can not live forever, or I never wished to, but I will always love you" his voice sounds tired.  He lays his head back on to the build and looks up in to the sky.

She draws close to him.  Holding him in a hug.  Tears falling on her cheeks.  "Dont cry my dear, for my love is never ending" He says softly.  "You, Bery, and Rose have everything I owen in this world.  Rose will contunie to teach you of Toran so we can be together"  He fights back his own tears.

Guards walk up from the temple of Toran, speachless as they relize who the man is.  One stops in his tracks and turn and walks straight back and in to the temple doors.  The other just watchs as the man sitting on the bench looks at him and smiles.  The man on the bench just nods to him and contuines to talk to the women.

"I am so tired, hard to keep my eyes open my love"  he says "I think I will just close them hear and rest for a bit."  "Rest my dear, rest"  She says loving "We will see each other soon."

The women looks to the guard standing there, her eyes filled with tears.  The little boy runs to his mother and she holds him tightly as he beings to cry.  She looks to the guard still standing there just staring at them, the noice for the door of the temple as they open and the guard leading five clerics out catch her attion.

The clerics walk up.  All bowing there heads in the final respect.  The cleric in the frount says in a sadden voice "He has passed on to Torans Hand, and will be in his care."  She looks up to the cleric and nods "he came here for the end, this was always his home, were he grew up, were he learned to live and live well he did."

The cleric pick up his body and start to carry it inside the temple.  "He lived, he loved, he gave everything to Toran" she sayed softly, but raises her voice "HE WILL ALWAYS BE THE HAND!"

General Discussion / Wanted to Thank You all
« on: April 03, 2008, 10:35:23 pm »
Well when I started here, I knew nothing of the rp world.  I read everything slow and I typed even slower.  As time grew on, I like to belive I grew as an person and a player.

I was like this is to cool.  I can not belive this world and these people.  The GM's were great.  Heck I even remeber my first 3 day banned and only (I was a bad boy that did not read the rules and leveled in something I should not of) by L himself.  I could go on forevery about the Quest's.  The time it takes for the gm's, mind blowing.  The RP great, but I do like a bit of bashing.  Heck after all I am a fighter/cleric/undead slayer.

I can tell you this, I have learned to read faster and type faster with fewer mistakes.  My spelling has gotten a lot better, now I need to work on my grammer *belly laugh*.

I want to thank everyone here for everything it.  I can not wait to see the next verison.  I am sure it will be just as great.  I guess I just wanted to get this off my chest.

General Discussion / Life is Short
« on: November 04, 2007, 11:39:00 am »
I was woken up to a phone call this morring from my mother.  It was a phone call you never here want to hear.  There was a huge car pile up comming out of Selma on 99.  Caused by a drunk driver (not sure if the fogg was bad but usuall is).  Something like 108 cars.  A child was killed, but a young man was killed also.  This young man was a family friend.

My best friend that usual goes to work on saturdays that travles that same road, he desided to stay home.  I am thankfull for that.

Life is to short.  Bad things happen to good people all the time.  I say no, not this time.  Drinking and driving was the cause.  I begg any of you, if you go out to a party, dinner, or just out with friends and have any drinks at all.  Call a cab, have a sober driver take you home, call someone.

Dont think just becouse I had two or three drinks I am fine to dirve.  I am sorry to tell you, you are not ok to drive.  I am not perfect by anymeans.  I learned the hard way many times over.  This is not the first friend to die becouse of drinking and driving.  I wish it would be the last, but in all reality it wont be.

Introduce Yourself / An Old Man Playing In a Young Persons Game
« on: March 13, 2007, 11:41:20 am »
Well to start off I am Brandon, but most call me BB.  I will let you guess why.  I am 30 now but my line of work makes me feel much older.  I am a union plumber.  My best friend (Tom) told me of this sight a little over 2 years ago.  He keeped on my till I got on it and I have not looked back since.

I have learned so much from Layo, more then I can hope to ever get back.  I played a lot of sports for my old high school.  You can say I was pushed throw the system.  When I was tested for collage I had a 5th grade reading level, and my spelling and gramer was worse.  My wife has seen the improvments in everything I do.  So dont mine the spelling and gramer please if we are out adventuring together, I am trying hard.

You can say I grew up fast.  My first daughter was born when I almost 17.  Married at 17.  Passed high school.  Went to collage, worked full time and was a full time father.  Now I have three daughters, was divoriced, and married a wonderfull lady that loves my childern as much as I do.

This is my life.  My life is for my wife and my childern.
