Well here is your chance. Introducing the deep dwarves! These character ideas are yours to use take, change, or use as is. Let the sound of Booted Dwarven Feet be heard over all of Layonara. Dregar is at peace under precision dwarven rule. Join the Deep Dwarves to let Mistone and the rest of Layonara witness the might of Rael.
Samantha Blackhammer | Ranger | A deep-dwarf huntress with a fondness for cats
Douglas Evenhammer | Fighter/Weapon Master | An even tempered old solider who’s only ambition is the mastery of his war hammer
Alex Rockheart | Cleric | A charismatic and ambitious battle priest of Sulterio.
I have included some non-evil deep dwarves so that new players can also join in the fun. I have idea's for some more deep dwarves... The All'ra strike fear into the hearts of all magic wielders who walk the surface...

Hi LORE Team,
As per this post, Ed approved Lawful Neutral for Deep Dwarves.
Can you please add Lawful Neutral to the PC submission playable alignments for LORE: Deep Dwarf.
It also may need to be added to the character submissions forum post.

In the one eyed harpy, two dark clad figures, one tall and lean the other short and swarthy, talk quietly among themselves.
"Deadshot, ye hear aboot der prize" the short one inquires over his dark ale.
"Yes you imbecile, and don't call me that, you never know who is listening" retorts the tall one putting down his mulled wine.
"Cost muh a fine penny ter find out, tis better be worth it."
"Well keep your voice down and this may be money well spent. The less who know about it the better our chances of gaining it will be."
"Och, aye" the short one taps his nose and swallows the dregs of his dark ale.

The Prantz Army Officer's Corps, should be re-written to reflect the changes introduced by Rael. I suggest changing the content of the existing page to past tense and then linking to the newer information.
Rael Kingdom Military
The Prantz Officer Army Corp, once dedicated to the Waylend line, has been renamed the Rael Officer Army Corp and is now a proving ground for any soldier in Lord Rael’s army who wishes to move beyond the enlisted ranks. The training for those who would lead Lord Rael’s forces is said to be horrific and sometimes deadly; certainly, no being that ever completed it alive can be considered the same as before. Absolute unwavering loyalty to Lord Rael (until death) is the prime attribute of the successful Rael Officer Army Corp enlistee.
As an interesting side note Jin Lun Lee was/is a member of the old Pranzis Army Officer's Corps. To him the Rael Officer Army Corp isn't the same organisation. I imagine there will be a few ex-officers hiding in the forest of fog and telling war stories to their grand children about the good old days.
Watch this video.
Now imagine that instead of peace loving Buddhists, the Adamantine Brotherhood are training their bodies to withstand blows. Imagine the survival rate... Got that imagery?
Now your ready to read Gladyus' development thread.
The Halls of King Rory Rockfist bustled with activity. In the years since the Warlord Varka entered the embrace of Vorax the Blood Gate had prospered. Since that day two changes had come to the halls. The Triqueta of Gates now hovered above the Kings Throne and a life size statue of Warlord Varka Cleaveson had been placed on display in the massive throne room.
A group of young warriors and novice priests spotted Jacrum kneeling before the Statue of Varka Cleaveson.
“’Annur Jacrum! Tell us a tale of der Warlord. Der one when he sank a ship with a single punched!” called one of the group.
“Nay! Tell us a tale of der Defender and Maiden Argali” called another, this request was followed by a wolf-whistle.
Jacrum turned and faced the group. “I’ll tell ye a tale, der tale of der last stand of Axodeth Stonecutter.”
The young dwarves gathered and sat down on the polished granite floor while Jacrum told the tale in the dwarven tongue.
To die in battle is to die in service of Vorax. Every warrior of Vorax knows this. In his youth Axodeth Stonecutter had been an adventurer and miner. In the days before the skies had turned dark he had made his fortune selling weapons and armour. Using this money he bought a fine house in the remote town of Hlint in the land of Mistone. In that land there was not a goblin that did not fear when the Axodeth went mining. When the dark times came Axodeth kept himself to his house and lived in comfort raising his foster kin and the families who came to stay with him. For decades he was content to listen to the tales of adventure from the young kin. Even when the sky turned light again Axodeth rarely ventured far from his comfortable home.
Then came a time when he heard the call of Vorax and the need to do battle again in worship of our god. He arranged to meet with me in Leringard through an old friend of my family. He wanted to seek adventure and see all that had changed in Layonara. I agreed and we sailed to Hurm. Our plan was to head to Dalanthar and then into the Thunderpeak mountains.
As we headed out of Hurm we were attacked by Elven Bandits. I swear I saw dust come flying off his axe the first time Axodeth swung it. But after he pulled it out of the body of the Elf it shone with blood and fire.
We stopped briefly in Dalanthar for supplies and continued to the crossroads. Then we headed into the Western range of the Thunderpeaks.
This land is full of Bandits: Half-Orcs, Goblins, Halflings and even the traitorous Deep Dwarves. We found a bandit lair and fought our way in, determined to rid the land of as much of their evil kind as possible. Axodeth quickly returned to his youthful vigour. I was astonished to see the bald-headed old dwarf match and surpass my skill with the Axe. Together we were unstoppable, we plunged deep into their stronghold. Axodeth spitting on the corpse of ever Deep Dwarf he killed. Having dispatched their leaders in an epic battle we headed out with the name of Vorax on our lips and in our hearts.
It was on the way out that we were ambushed. A halberd wielding Half-Orc, a Dark Dwarf with a massive great axe, a Goblin archer, another Goblin with two swords, and a Halfling rogue fell upon our backs. The battle was swift and deadly. Within a blink of an eye the Orc, the Dark Dwarf, the Halfling and one of the Goblins were lying dead at Axodeth’s feet. As I dispatched the last goblin I saw that Axodeth was mortally wounded. Cut to ribbons by the hideous wounds inflicted by his enemies. I swore he was already dead, yet as I knelt to pray by his body I heard his voice whisper.
“Vorax is that ye?”
I know the answer. Vorax was with him then as he was through all the battles that day. This is how a true warrior lives and dies, with Vorax in their hearts. I carried his body to the Temple of Vorax in the Runic Clan Halls. There his body now rests. Axodeth knew his time had come, and he faced death as a true warrior of Vorax without fear, choosing his time and place to fight. Remember and honour his name in your hearts for all time.
The Tale of the Broken Arc
This quest series had a major impact on Dregar - A mountain was destroyed. However, I noticed there have only been ~60 views. When compared to the thread regarding children in the temple (>300views), or the thread about Death Tokens (>2000 views).
Have a read. Or perhaps a bump to update it when the server update happens.

I was thinking about GMs and their styles. Which are my favorite and why. Then I realised that I like a lot of different GM styles, just as I like a lot of different authors. One way to describe a GM's style is to liken it to an authors style.
Who are your favorite GMs and what are their styles? I'll get us started,
Canuslupis (Dezza) is like David Gemmall. The best selling author of Heroic fantasy. Gritty realistic battles. A strong masculine adventuring. Death is real. Legends are born on the stories of the past.
Shadow (Pseudonym) is like Terry Pratchett. Best know for his satirical fantasty discworld series. The absurd and the mundane become a playground of wit and puzzles. Pay attention to the trickery of words!
Keep them coming.

March for their annual service charges on her credit card, and then
added late fees and interest on the monthly charge.
The balance had been $0.00, now is somewhere around $60.00.
A family member placed a call to ANZ:
"I am calling to tell you that she died in January."
"The account was never closed and the late fees and charges still
"Maybe, you should turn it over to collections."
"Since it is two months past due, it already has been."
So, what will they do when they find out she is dead?"
"Either report her account to the frauds division or report her to the
credit bureau, maybe both!"
"Do you think God will be mad at her?"
"Did you just get what I was telling you . . . the part about her being
"Sir, you'll have to speak to my supervisor."
Supervisor gets on the phone:
"I'm calling to tell you, she died in January."
"The account was never closed and the late fees and charges still
"You mean you want to collect from her estate?"
(Stammer) "Are you her lawyer?"
"No, I'm her great nephew."
(Lawyer info given)
"Could you fax us a certificate of death?"
Family Member: "Sure."
(fax number is given)
After they get the fax:
"Our system just isn't set up for death. I don't know what more I can do
"Well, if you figure it out, great!
If not, you could just keep billing her. I don't think she will care."
"Well, the late fees and charges do still apply."
"Would you like her new billing address?"
"That might help."
"Rook wood Memorial Cemetery,
1249 Centenary Rd, Sydney
Plot Number 69."
"Sir, that's a cemetery!"
"What do you do with dead people on your planet?"
Makashi for running Jacrum's CDQ.
Varka for defeating the Assassin and destroying the frigate in a single punch
Hilda for poking fun at Varka's pride
Sasha for putting on the scantily clad (and unarmored) outfit
Argali for throwing the potions that kept us alive. I think she threw the one that brought Jacrum back from unconsciousness during the battle with the assassin.
EVERYONE FOR STAYING UP WAY PAST THEIR BEDTIME
And my misses for not kicking me out on the street straight away.
It's been a rough day at work.
Ladies and Gents,
I have been spending a bit of time on creating portraits. I was using GIMP which was recommended somewhere on this site. But to preview the images from a windows directory I needed to load the .tga files into GIMP. I went searching for a thumbnail view for windows... and I found one.
A nice little program that allows .TGA files to be viewed as thumbnails in a windows explorer box. Fast too.

I live in Adelaide Australia. I found NWN in December 2005 when I was looking for a roleplaying game to play with my friends on a visit to Perth. The idea of role-playing without needing Pen/Paper and rulebook appealed to me as something different. I found NWN and then began looking into online roleplaying. After a few non-RPG servers I found Layonara and was impressed. I have played Layonara full-time since Jan 2006.
My roleplaying background is mainly using GURPS, with various worlds, campaigns and characters. I haven’t done much table-top roleplaying in the last decade, usually once every two years or so.
For the last eight and a half years I have worked as a research engineer for a large organization. I have a pretty good job with lots of travel, and every project is different. However, like Dilbert I sit in a cubicle.
I play basketball socially 3 times a week. I occasionally go to the gym to keep my ageing body fit enough to keep playing basketball. However I am one year younger then Scotcar.
I am married with one child. My greatest achievement is my one year old daughter.
You may have met my current characters in game; Jin Lun Lee, Jake Saltpetre, or Jacrum Shieldbreaker. Both Jin and Jake are now 18 months old. Jacrum is the baby at 6 months.
There is a running theme in all my current and past Layonara characters. Try and guess it.
I am really enjoying this game. There is a small but great collection of Aussie roleplayers and gamemasters.
I plan to stick around as long as possible.

ShadowHawk Outlaw Weapons v1.0.7 -- Neverwinter Nights 2 Vault
It appears that this is the source of the Custom Weapons in the CEP. It also appears that at some stage custom weapon feats were added. Does anyone know if these custom weapon feats work? Can this be added to Layonara?
It would be... cool.

Having never seen or used the PRC I don't know the amount of work involved but... I think this would be great for Layonara. I'm not saying that Layonara should have all the classes in the PRC, as there are far to many classes. But including this server side character creator might add more value and flexibility to the world.
How difficult is the character creator for new players to use?
How hard is it to include the PRC into Layo?
How hard would it be to modify the character creator to limit it to Layo allowed classes and feats only?
Would it be possible to add Layo-Flavour backgrounds to the selection of feats at character creation? Eg
It appears that there are other benefits as well, such as having racial adjustments based on stats. Maybe addiing an option to select from the Layonara deity list.
Anyway something to think about for the future.
