Rumour Has It / Letter to Port Hempstead Authorities
« on: May 12, 2011, 09:08:26 am »
Hello again Lord and Lady peoples,

I am still waiting on a right sized bench for right sized folks. I know you big er lords, er fancy dancy types dont think something so small is benight you but we are! I am not getting rude er um disrespectful but I am. We pay the same taxes as you big folks and we deserve right size benches.

So in the interm of good politcal saive and good thinking, we advise other right sized peoples to gather togther and sign this post to confirm equal size benches. So to be under foot is Ok but down trodden is not. in the words of Dweeble Zappa Rightleftfoot the great gnomish inventor of the two story pea soup device "if you cant do something right the first time, try try again, for your bound to do it wrong again and eventually your wrong things will wear down any resistance and become the right thing. Or you'll die first"

So please dont look down on us, well if you are talking to us I assume you cant do anything but, but you know what I mean. In the conjuncture of ruining good gramar and using long run one sentences I end this request, er complaint with respsct because I dont want to be arrest or charged a large fine or... Just please make a bench for us.

Hello Lord and Lady of Port Hempstead,

I be a humble gnome that has heard grievances about your benches around the town fountain. With the state of affairs and the city being a wreck, I wanted to offer my carpentry and tinkering skills to replace them. I state my request simply and now offer a gnomish explanation as to why.

We gnomes tend to notice small features and if you would also, I know it would attract more of my fine race. And if there were more gnomes, more work would get done. For us gnomes understand work gives purpose to life and therefore we work hard. As to be given the gift of life but not appreciate it by not working hard is a lack of maturity. And we gnomes are not small in spirit and desire to be more mature and work hard. I promise to align the benches perfectly square to the ratio presented by the buildings. I do not want to causes confusion to passersby if they notice any non symmetry. Also the grand sculpture you have is always best appreciated by those who can sit in comfort and take solace in knowing the grand leaders of such a promenade town have seen fit to take the time to make such a similar small feature has not been lost in notice to ones such as yourselves.

With this small statement of declaration and intent, I seek your permission to do what I said. I ask not for payment in true or fame but seek to add my small part and hope to make the illumination of my race known through hard work.

Well I got more ink, now that I can afford such things. Hope those caravan folks and Dribbler need more work. I need more true. You know what they say, a gnome with a job is good. A gnome with a job he can not hope to accomplish in his lifetime is happy.

Soooo, I met this bald guy that is all knowledgeable. Maybe he would submit to the pneumatic brain recorder. That means air for you folks reading this in like three hundred years when you find my journal in some cave or soemthing. We gnomes have developed a way to take the air inside most peoples head and put it in a book. No boring lectures that way. Straight to the point, well we use a point and stick it in their ear. May be faster but few people want to use it... I dont know why? Little pain, lots of gain!

Sooo anyway, he was talking about the cult and dragons and this orc, I think he was an orc, he smelled like my uncle Larry. So that must be an orc. Not bad I recon but like onions and belladonna. My uncle larry is a great poison maker, I hope one day to be as good. He has no rats in his house and like had five wives. Everyone was scared of the orc but they talked to him from a distance. I didnt care, he doesnt own a gnome ray of destruction and nose reducer. So what do I have to fear from him?

I gave everyone some food, that bald guy can almost out talk me. I started staring at some weeds so I dont know what else they said. Something about armies and poison and something. Oh ya poison. I then told everyone I make poison too and they put their food down all scared. Like I would poison someone I just met. Shhezz. Then they all left.

Oh ya this elf was really nice to us and show us around. He said the chairs in Port Hempstead by the fountain are uncormfortable. So I have decided to redesign them and make them better. I am going to go talk to the town folk when I get my tinkering skills better.

Then i was walking around, I had not slept for two days. And I ran into this dark lady in Port Hempstead, she said she was a dark elf. Wow! People are so simple, not like other big people trying to hide what they really are. She then cast a spell and wasnt all dark any more. Guess that is how she got into the city. The i got out side the city and there was another dark elf. A male this time. I asked him if his wife was inside. He didnt know. Geez big people. Why didnt he know where his wife is. My wife is always around in case i say something stupid and she hits my head. Good thing too my head is hard and I hear that if you hit your head a lot you dont go bald. i dont want to be bald and long winded like that one guy. Two people doing the same thing is unoriginal. Oh ya my wife is developing a formula to regrow hair. She is still perfecting it. I hope I dont drink that like I do my ink. Hair tongue now that is really a bad idea. Well maybe if ink didnt taste so good...

*the ink trails off to a scribble*

« on: June 17, 2009, 03:53:30 pm »
A sun elf and a few friends are chatting quietly about various books of lore. They are talking about Essrantor's Pillars. Any that come forward are questioned a bit and then given a chance to look at what they are reading.

OOC: If anyone wants entry into the Lost Lore Forum (which is a continuation on Essrantor's Veil). Please meet my PC Verideth in game or send me a bird.
