Just for Fun / Wild Weather
« on: April 27, 2011, 03:31:07 pm »
Yesterday in Syracuse we had a storm cell move in around 1:30 in the afternoon.  The worst rain I have ever seen up here.  We received 1.25" of rain in 30 minutes, golf ball sized hail and after it moved out of the area this cloud formation was spotted over one of the nearby lakes.  There was a report of a tornado, but no confirmation.

General Discussion / In need of a safe path home
« on: April 11, 2011, 10:56:30 am »
Yesterday Leaf had to leave a group that was traveling the thru the northern and central regions of Degar.  Leaf is currently at North Fort and he is unfamilar with the surrounding lands and how to get back home.

I will be IG tonight around 6:30PM EDT and hoping that there might be someone on at that time who could show him the safe way to get back to Mistone.

Thanks,
Warchild

Just for Fun / The year of "Moneybags"
« on: March 29, 2011, 05:01:06 pm »
This year we experienced and are going to experience four unusual dates: 1/1/11, 1/11/11, 11/1/11, 11/11/11; that's not all ... take the last two digits of the year in which you were born; now add the age you will be this year, and the result will be 111 for everyone!

For example - Harry was born in 1957, and 57 + 54 = 111

This is the year of Money!!!

This year October will have 5 Sundays, 5 Mondays and 5 Saturdays.
This happens only every 823 years.

These particular years are known as 'Moneybags'

Just for Fun / Who said we cant Fly?
« on: December 09, 2010, 01:18:44 pm »
This is an awsome 1080 HD vid!   The camera work lets you see what it would be like to fly...even if just a few seconds.  from 1:15 on is intense, but starting at 2:05 you see why they do it :)

General Discussion / Good Movie! two thumbs up!
« on: March 28, 2010, 07:17:06 pm »
Took my little girl to see "How to train a Dragon" last night in 3D.  graphics were intense and crisp.

The story is great and anyone from 6 to 60 will laugh and enjoy if they like fantasy settings.  The hidden meanings behind the humor for the adults was hilarious to say the least.  A must see IMO.  Some great flight scenes too!

Just for Fun / Dungeons & Dragons cartoon
« on: January 20, 2010, 04:27:37 pm »
Did anyone ever watch this cartoon on Saturday mornings back in the early 80's?

I can remember playing pnp D&D till all hours of the night, then get up to watch that...then get right back to our campaign. hehe

Do not know if it was shown in other countries but for those who have never seen it...there is one of my favorite episodes below to see, 3 vids for the one episode.  Ofcourse the graphics back in the 80's were not what they are today..but back in the early 80's...It rocked!

Go here

Enjoy!

CNR Suggestions/Discussion / Pipeweed/tabacco CNR/Crafting?
« on: December 08, 2009, 08:23:06 pm »
Just thinking out loud.  I did not see it on the Crafting list (maybe missed it?).

Would there be a way to add a workable "craft" of growing/harvesting and with crafting skill levels gained be able to create special grades of pipeweed/tabacco that have some type of bonuses associated with different high grades of smoke.  If someone would ever become a master of this craft, they would be able to sell the best smoke in all of Layonara.....

well just it might be kinda neat.....

General Discussion / Had a great time last night!
« on: December 04, 2009, 07:32:42 am »
To all who took me under thier wings last night and showed me around, I give you sincere thanks.  I apologize that I do not mention everyone in this thread who did lend a helping hand to Shadowleaf.  Two names that I will mention though are Ferrit and Dragnar (sp is correct i hope?).

Ferrit was first to greet Shadowleaf and made him feel welcome even though the Port is in a state of emergency.  Ferrit instructed Shadowleaf on the needed areas in Port for supplies, food and shelter...very important things in Shadowleaf's eyes... She lead him to an area with a good number of deer for meat and skins...."didnt like the skunks in that patch of woods though....made my stomach turn" he says...

Then we met some musicians near a tree with a nice warm fire...  The sounds from thier insturments were very pleasant to the ear and hopefully be able to hear them play again soon...  Again, more helpful hands here also.

Then Ferrit made her departure into the night air as Shadowleaf thanks her for all of her help and guidence in a troubled world...   Dragnar tells me of undead and that thier knuckles can bring some coin..so we embark down into a crypt of somesort..  The undead met us with swords swinging...Dragnar laid his sword into them foes as Shadowleaf sends arrows into thier body cavities, shattering bones in the process.  After clearing the walking dead...Dragnar leads him to an Inn for a good nights rest...and till another day of exploration.

Thanks again all, had a blast last night and look forward to many long nights adventuring.  You seem to have a great mod here with great players...looks like I found my new home.....

Introduce Yourself / My Greetings to all of you
« on: November 27, 2009, 02:25:38 pm »
Hello,

I have been playing NWN since it came out off and on, but not in the past 5 months or so and eager to get back into it asap.  Im 39, mechanical designer from Syracuse NY USA.

I have been browsing around here for about a week now and printing off many documents for referenece.  I have played both "power leveling servers" and RP servers and find the RP ones to be a more "Immersion" type atmosphere with character management and in game decisions.  I cant say I am a great RP NWN player as my typing is not the best but I make get buy and stay in character...and ofcourse its very fun to do also!

I have decided to submit a Wood Elf, Ranger to play.  I have the first draft of his Bio already done and will finalize it very soon.

I just have this one question to someone who might be able to help.  Did I read somewhere that the GM's are only accepting Rangers and Druids at this time for character submission?  When is the cut-off date for Ranger submissions?..or am I not understanding it properly?  Please advise.

Well, just a bit on me for now and hope to make some long time friends on here and find my niche in Layonara....
