Rumour Has It / Gotta See A Tree About A Guy
« on: January 21, 2019, 01:47:12 pm »
Word gets around between this circle and that that a halfling is looking for a "tree-friendly" group to help escort a friend to and through the Great Forest for some manner of healing. "We've been to see the druids of the desert, we've been to a cradle of forgotten wilderness, and our only recourse seems to be the Great Oak!" Apparently ships are out of the question for some reason, making it potentially a year-long journey overland all the way from Arnax at the opposite end of the continent.

An oft-repeated addendum is that a mage who can levitate things is apparently high priority.  "Trust me, I've got it all figured out." There's a promise that everyone can keep anything found, but also the occasional odd "I will try to scrounge a lot of backup food for us, but I've been gathering feed for so long that my sleeves are fair bursting! At least I will never lack a bed..." remark.

PS no horses, please!

// Escort Mission From Arnax to Great Oak
// NPC is squishy, ill-tempered, and subject to sudden attacks of suicide
// Magic will occasionally be needed for some obstacles.
// I'd assume that any wizard of high enough level to be traveling on Belinara could have a Levitate banging around his spellbook somewhere.
// Looking at Saturday Jan 26 in the PST AM, maybe around 10, but could be shuffled around if needed.

General Discussion / NWN Enhanced Edition Information Compilation
« on: November 24, 2017, 03:58:47 pm »
Whew, okay, I've redone this post with more up-to-date information. I think it's shorter overall because of more links available and the removal of NWNX:EE info. There is no freed space I cannot fill.

Beamdog has released Neverwinter Nights: Enhanced Edition! It's $19.99 through Beamdog, Steam, or GOG. (Note that if you buy from BD, you will also get a Steam key!)

There's a FAQ here with good info, check here first if you have a question.
Here's the Roadmap, which notes what is currently in development as well as what has already shipped.

Cumulative patch notes so far

Greatest hits -
  • Master server is back
  • properly cross-platform again (toolset is Windows only but works with Wine)
  • works on modern hardware
  • UI scaling
  • shader support
  • fancymaps
  • toolset QoL, eg clicking a placeable in the area view no longer resets its position on the z axis, hold key to scale along z, etc
  • new scripting functions
  • area instancing
  • Steam/Galaxy "join friend" support,
  • workshop support (not that great for anything but overrides and modules, but still nice to signal NWN is a game for modders)
  • nwsync option which autodownloads and deduplicates PW custom content (so a nwsyncable server changes a single file, you only download that one file!)
  • completed language support (1.69 was English-only)
  • general performance/stability
  • new ini options like StickyCombatModes, customizable NWN theme, camera settings, limits to various bonuses/penalties, upping max texture memory
  • also selling on Android (iOS "coming soon" ? after 64bit update most likely)
  • The primary NWN dev at Beamdog was/is a member of the existing NWN community and an nwnx maintainer, plus a few other members of the NWN community are volunteering their time and have been given source access or are otherwise working with BD

I didn't include things there were some rumors of that we haven't seen yet, or even things we know they're working on but haven't shipped, and some of those entries are reaaaally packing a lot in one sentence, like "fancymaps" could go on for quite some time, hah. Same with "new scripting functions", which includes being able to translate/rotate/scale objects/creatures/etc. (Though engine-wise, they are still in the same place, so it can be tricky to use in some instances.)

For single-player fans on the fence, I'm not sure - if you do zero modding, don't like the stock shaders, and 1.69 already worked fine for you, I'd take a look at what's there and decide if it's worth it to you. Same goes for people who play exclusively on a pw that has not migrated. For anyone that hits even one of those fields though, it's a good investment and goes on sale often. Your favourite old modules will still work on EE, and even your OC saves will still be compatible. As time goes on, more servers and players will migrate, more content will be made that takes advantage of EE capabilities that 1.69 doesn't have, while 1.69 things will continue to work on EE.

Also, I hate to gloss over so many things that take so much time and $$, that are easy for players to take for granted. When "enhanced" versions of anything get released, I generally have fairly low expectations on the user end - lots of bug fixes, maybe some quality-of-life and translations, works on Mac and at higher resolutions, that kind of thing. Don't get me wrong, sky-high hopes and dreams, but it's a small company and stuff takes time and money. So I'm excited about what's already been done and for things to come.

At the same time, I think when anyone reads "enhanced", every person thinks of something different - the amount of people that clamoured for a full-blown redo of every asset in the game surprised me almost as much as Trent of Beamdog doing a 180 on his "let's not waste time/money revamping old content when we could focus on making new" stance. There have been some experimental overrides releasing every now and again that you can check out on the vault or the workshop.

It sounds like they may have signed up for a long-term refresh, which seems crazy to me - there are so many models in NWN. It will take a lot of time and a lot of money, and people really forget how small a company they are and how few people they have working on NWN. It sounds like they've gotten Ossian working on it, so we'll see. I can understand being concerned that new things would clash with the old, and I can reluctantly agree that a graphical refresh may be more likely to pull people back in off the street, in addition to being cool in general. I just hope it pulls enough, because in the meantime I've got a lot of other things on my wishlist :)

Meanwhile, there are some things just about anyone who has ever tinkered with NWN is hungry for, like unhardcoding certain class features, allowing custom spellbooks, and other things that are really complicated/entangled changes which may also rely on very long-term possibilities, like a UI overhaul. Scriptable GUI is the dream, but so far they've had a lot on their plate already.

Right now, there's a bit of a lull as Beamdog's cofounder is apparently ripping out the rendering engine and redoing it, so while there's a lot of awesome things that may come from it, there's also some trepidation in the custom content community about how that will impact things they are already working on. There are also some fixes/changes which have been gated behind the 64bit update for some time, so while it's mainly Apple users that will care about that particular change in the short-term, there's also a lot of desk-slapping waiting for it to come out so other things can be gotten on with  ;D

Overall, I'm personally really happy that NWN was adopted and brought back to life, and I think it will be in a much better place as a platform once they are done with it. (Assuming they become done with it, at some point.)

General Discussion / Testers Needed
« on: May 08, 2017, 06:46:24 pm »
I need a few people to help me test a "quest-like" concept and make it worth doing for others, for no reward but the uh satisfaction of doing a good deed (or something) ? Looking for a group of three that can all make the same general timeslot. You can also separate yourself into multiple groups of three in different timeslots and we'll just go through them if the first works out, but at least one group to start :) You'd need...
  • Patience - The reason we need to work this out together is that as it is right now, I don't know how many people would enjoy it... and what the best way is to make it easily accessible so it's a "show up and go" kind of thing. That means it's not a show up kind of thing right now, hehe. I think it could be fun, but it needs work.
  • Honesty/Communication - We want to make it better for people who come after, so we need to able to communicate what doesn't work. It's also possible that no one sees it working at all and it's not worth pursuing, so you need to be able to call it like you see it ! Constructive is best - what would work bettter? - but anything is good.
  • New Character - You won't have to write a submission, and it won't count against your cap, but you'd need to be willing to make a testing character to provided specs, even the name. This is only for mechanical reasons. We can talk about it more if you end up helping.
  • Bonus: Sense of humor. Something will probably go wrong. Best case scenario is that it goes wrong in a really entertaining way. An interest in the lore and stories in the world is good but not required.
We'd get together IG in a few weeks, so general timeslot agreement is better than very specific dates for me. Volunteering in this thread as a group with timeslots already worked out is ideal, but if schedule-wrangling is the only option we can do that, too. If, after getting more information, you're no longer interested in participating, you can of course say never mind and we'll figure it out!

Word spreads through the usual channels of another event for talespinners at the Leringard Arms Inn & Tavern. Founded by Dragoncalled, with stewards that are bards and mercenaries, it has seen all manner of tales firsthand, from visitations by Queen Allurial and pit masters to being attacked by demons from Xandrial's army or burned down by the Blackwatch... And in its time, it has, of course, sponsored and hosted many a talespinner... some that became stories in their own right. Do you know any stories about stories and their tellers? I can think of many! Some are straight from life -- the song that tamed Corash. The child at the Hold, who absorbed so much power that her stories came to life. The Bard, an influence inseparable from the era of the Dragoncalled. The Voice, that recorded the consolidation of power in Rael and prodded, mocked, and shamed the powerful sellswords that stood by in an attempt to awaken them. An old scribe with a secret in Katia's greatest forest, that summoned opposition to Bloodstone and told the tale of his return to every soul that stood before the dragon.Others are imagined only, or else so distant that none live that could untangle what is true. Saquan, whose grief at the slaughter of the merfolk became an unbridled song that transformed the corals. Thousand-tale Johnny that charmed the fairy queen, only to bore her with the wrong melody after centuries being her consort. The sage of Iliariel, so terrified by his own premonitions that he betrayed the kingdom to creatures that whispered from the Pits. Dragons that hoarded stories and riddles. Songs that launched ships. The Harpers. Halfling legends say Prunilla told a dragon a tale that shamed him into remembering his discarded creations and freed her to travel with Deliar, and the clan mothers of the nomads are still called Storytellers. A thousand songs of disasters unraveling or the world breaking because of the right words in the right ears, from the gnome that could whisper the perfect joke in any ear and see them dead from laughter, to the T'oleflor themselves, who in some tellings sang the world and all its shadows into being. [/i]

Tell your tales at the Leringard Arms!

((This event is outside of plague-time due to the multiple characters still in plague-limbo (particularly the host, ha!); to avoid any wormholes opening up and swallowing us whole, please skirt around it for a few hours!))

Character Submissions / Neema for Undead Slayer
« on: November 14, 2017, 03:44:48 pm »
Name: Neema
Age: ?
Gender: Female
Classes: Sorcerer/(Cleric)
Race: Human
Alignment: True Neutral
Deity: Lucinda
(Domains: Magic Knowledge)
Original Submission
CDT
Submitting for 3rd class - Undead Slayer
Neema's CDT is several entries behind and does not reflect some serious IG character development (thanks Teo and Olme!), and she's currently a little "limbo"ed in Spellgard, but I am seeking approval for an avenue of progression that represents her total focus on necromancy and its various uses. As mentioned, she's (almost) exclusively a necromancer as submitted, only using spells that either are necromancy or protect against necromancy, and does not differentiate between or choose in advance her divine/arcane spells... kind of aiming for a cross of a "sacred" necromancer and a poor man's Favored Soul (without the ridiculous bits).

This class would not be used in true "slayer" form, as obviously Neema will never be a fearsome combatant and is not the bitterest of enemies with every form of undead.  That kind of Undead Slayer would not be appropriate for a Lucindite, whose faith boasts such legends as Melizaphei, who sacrificed so much time to protect magical artifacts in the form of undead and gave up even that form of unlife to its purpose, and so was granted by Lucinda a chance to live the life she'd traded. Neema's experiences in Spellgard were full of these mixed stories, but there is a difference between not reviling something on principle and believing it is desirable when it can be avoided.

Her wishes for "field experience" have always been diverse -- rumors of how sandcallers work (some serious blood magic, there), divinations, arcane healings, protection from the abuses of others. An excerpt from an unfinished/unposted CDT entry helps illustrate:

I should mention that the other permanent fixture in Center that I alluded to before was, of course, the crypts -- some remnant of the city before the Dark Time, presumably when there were enough citizens to make use of such things. I had not expected to find much of interest there, in truth. After all, regardless of what had been, Center was no longer worthy of even a dot on the map, and I'd heard so far no rumors or reports of troubles with the undead in the area.

I was mistaken. Someone -- multiple someones, I suspect -- in the past grew weary of the animated nuisances and, rather than seeking to ward every nook and cranny from those responsible, put up instead the Threshold in a doorway. To the unliving, it is a barrier that not only is impermeable, but strikes down the strings of those who touch it. To everyone else, it acts as a curtain you might scarcely notice as you pass through, magic brushing your skin. It was exactly the sort of thing I had set out to see for myself -- a work divine and arcane in nature, a mixed magical working that was in no small part necromancy, serving to guard from those with evil intent. It gave me purpose; it did not grant me companionship.
She assisted Ezekiel in the crypts for some time there, in exchange for room and board, just to study it. When she left Center, it was almost always to journey to another undead-plagued area to determine what was happening, and I always involved other players in these investigations. Her crawl through the Vehl crypts with Lola and Ryubi were not hasty bash-fests but enthusiastic wonderings and experiment with fledgling sorceresses sharing a fascination. She saw a Guardian (mummy) in person for the first time, and got to discuss how it may inadvertently even be the cause of all the other undead. Lola asked to assist her once in the crypts, and we RPed the preparation of a dead woman as Neema would have in Spellgard -- though Neema did not have the heart to tell Lola that "Ruth" (as they called her) was likely to be burned or thrown in a ditch despite the care they chose to put in the job.Or see notices like these: Escort to Willow's Weep, Who or What is Wallach, Guide through Storan's Crypt, or Studying Krandor's Undead, the last of which you can clearly see an emphasis not on simple slaying but study and solution, even though she could not longer even cast spells by that time. She had been through before with Thoven, marking replacing remains while he helped her shift stone lids closed, and praying ineffectually for their rest. Going back in with the group allowed her to see if the ones she had honored had stayed at rest (obviously not). In this case, the point was not that she actually could do anything, but that even as crippled as she had become in abilities, she still used what resources she could to the same ends. And yes, the source of that crippling is still very relevant, and the aftermath even more so, since she found herself manipulated and influenced by the very thing her attackers had imagined her to be, and it's likely she will never be entirely over it. She returned home to Spellgard because she was struggling with hatreds new to her, visceral and ugly emotions born of fear and loneliness that could drag a person to a dark place. She recognized this point, and rather than continue trying to go it alone, she set aside her pride and returned home for healing. The things that people fear are not made-up, but very real -- she has seen their effects on her travels and almost fallen victim to them herself. Their existence doesn't excuse the fearful or divert from a Lucindite's purpose in serving magic as a whole (ie one doesn't just give up the rest and start singularly hunting down and slaying evil necromancers), but it strengthens Neema's resolve to not shrink from her gifts, but set herself apart and demonstrate that, like an armed (wo)man could be a guardian or a murderer, her skills and that of others like her do not a Corathite make. I would still like to one day pursue CDQs to progress in the church, and I still love the concept of a graft as a mark of honor, but I don't think those things need be tied to class progression. She will stick to robe and staff, and consider these blessings from Lucinda to aid her in her progress and make up for her spellcasting being crippled in Lucinda's service. Lucinda provides, and such. I believe she already qualifies mechanically, and RP-wise I'd start her on them as soon as she made the decision to leave Spellgard and try again, whether through player things or being able to assist with the plague dead and such. Thanks for reading, sorry for the mind change :)

General Discussion / PSA: Planescape: Torment Enhanced Edition Raffle
« on: March 28, 2017, 05:42:11 pm »

New Torment-related PSA! If anyone thought "meh" to the spiritual successor because too well did they love the original, GOG is taking pre-orders for PS: Torment's Enhanced Edition, and doing another raffle with the vault. This raffle is a liiiittle bit more gimmicky in methodology, needing a name and email and then get more entries for following, visiting, etc, but it's pretty cool that GOG is helping out our vault. This is, in case you were wondering, why I keep linking these :P

The original vault, nwvault.ign.com, went down a long time ago with no warning to users, ending access and hosting to years of custom content the NWN community had made (including tons of things Layo uses and some made by Layo people!). The new community vault had been quietly migrating in the meantime... after the IGN site went down it became the home of all our stuff. Now with the Bioware forums gone, it's also where the most people go for NWN-related information (especially as it also hosts archives of the first Bioware forums and numerous content creation tutorials). So getting occasional GOG-bumps is pretty cool, and what's good for NWN is good for the surviving PWs ;) Hello, again... I thought about, you know, not mentioning it... because there'd be fewer entries *cough* but GOG has given the Vault 10 pre-order keys for Tides of Numenera (the spiritual successor to Planescape: Torment, for those that haven't been watching) to raffle. If you're interested in winning a free copy (including - I think - GOG's bonus of Lords of Xulima), you have only to post the reason for your interest in this thread, eg a favorite memory of PS:T or whatever. Entries are chosen at random though, so don't go composing an essay. Unless you want. You've got a week.

General Discussion / PSA: Pathfinder Comic/RPG Humble Bundle
« on: January 12, 2017, 05:40:09 pm »
Hey, just in case there's anyone that'd be interested, there's a Humble Bundle up right now that's a Paizo + Dynamite deal, featuring the Pathfinder RPG and Dynamite's comic adaptations, crossovers, and maps. If nothing else, you could get the (digital) core rulebook and some extras for a dollar... though as the bundles are meant to benefit charities and non-profits, there are other things locked to higher donations in hopes of attracting more. I would list them all, but why, when there is a page for that. Keywords Pathfinder, Red Sonja, Tarzan, cheap stuff, that is probably enough to target potentially interested parties, hehe. This bundle's beneficiaries of choice are Camden's Concert and the Comic Book Legal Defense Fund, but you can add your own from a pretty big list if you like.

Leringard Arms Inn and Tavern / Rare Auction
« on: December 13, 2016, 10:58:17 pm »
News arrives to Leringard of the auction of rare items from the family estate of Port Hempstead's Duke. A notice reaches the bard college and the Arms, elegantly penned on silk and reading:

Leringard collectors, scholars, intellectuals, and curious; rare items from the enduring line of the Duke have been made available for viewing and auction. Many have attempted gain access to this collection and failed -- until now.

You will not want to let slip this opportunity to see the true mark of Karrak, won by a champion of the blood when Belinara was known only as the Roughlands, before the demon Xandrial had ever set foot upon it.

Bronze statuary will be available, as well as the sigil of the first Crimson Eagle, and scaled armor wrought from the very hide of those dread beasts commanded by the dark elves in the sacking of Port Hempstead.

And lest we neglect our prayers, jade ornaments made to please the gods in the heavens.

Now is the time to plan your journey, as all would-be buyers or inspectors will be expected at the auction. The City of Gold awaits!

The Silver Buckle / Rare Auction
« on: December 13, 2016, 04:41:14 pm »
News arrives to Sagewald of a rare auction occurring in Port Hempstead's future. The first notice to arrive at the Silver Buckle is elegantly penned on silk and reads:

Coveted treasures await your eyes! From peace to war, fortune to misfortune, their blood endures as it has over one thousand years. The Duke. Sons of Kieran. Scholars of antiquities have attempted to view the family holdings and were repeatedly rebuffed - until now.

Announcing now, that not only is there to be an auction, but experts and scholars are invited to inspect the items before they change owners.

Prized objects, never before revealed to recorders of history. The very blade with which Calum Elf-Friend struck down his elvish brother in the second century.

Ebony figurines of creatures unknown, made from hardwoods now extinct on the peninsula.

Reservations for exclusive access will not be arranged; all would-be buyers or inspectors will be expected at the auction.

General Discussion / NWN Free on GOG + Raffle for other games
« on: December 01, 2016, 09:38:41 pm »
Hey guys, just wanted to give you a heads up that there's still another day left in GOG's giving away of our long-time friend, Neverwinter Nights! If you have any friends you have ever wanted to try it out, now is the time to claim a key, because what was already cheap is temporarily gratis. Since this was done in conjunction with the neverwintervault community, they've also supplied keys to some other D&D games for the vault's raffle. While the main entries are for fan works (art or written), leftover keys will go to ANYONE who posts in that thread expressing interest. Even a "Me, too!" could net you a NWN2 key to keep or give away. It's worth noting that the neverwintervault community (well, Rolo) smelled trouble at IGN before the bomb dropped and worked in overdrive backing up and migrating the years worth of content the community had made, including the works Layonara makes use of... so even if you've never endorsed a modder's work, this is an easy (and potentially beneficial to you) way to support them by showing that people are still here and can handle a forum registration :P

Fixed Bugs / Forsaken Isles references Lost Library
« on: May 04, 2017, 06:13:07 pm »
Our research is now drawing to a close. We have recorded excerpts from each and every wall and translated a large number of the symbols. However, once we return home, the Great Library will verify our findings.
The Forsaken Isles page does not date the journal excerpt, however, the Great Library was lost 200 years prior to the Cataclysm and was not reopened until 40 years after Blood returned -- by which time it would be highly unlikely that any explorers were chilling out eating coconuts... unless they were zombies with umbrella drinks, hehe. There's no mention at all of Blood or the rifts or curses in the past or present, so my assumption is that the only edit needed is to remove the GL reference to make it consistent with its intended(?) period.

LORE Bugs / MAS and MAS Ships minor edits to indicate era
« on: October 08, 2016, 01:13:08 pm »
When I first came back with Tori, I was surprised to hear Mistone Alliance stuff coming up IC for what was to me, the first time in ages. I found out that they were discussed on LORE and gave no indication that they'd ever ceased to exist, but I forgot about it until looking up ship classes, today... As far as I know, absolutely everything to do with the Mistone Alliance is defunct - and if there are any parts that are not, they are probably in secret, flags-and-arms-in-grandfather's-attic style. Acacea kept her flag in this way until she gave it away... *sigh* The relevant pages are:Mistone Alliance Fleet (and all subpages)Mistone Alliance (and all Ministries/subpages)I know Milo did a lot of MAS stuff, but that was a looooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooong time ago. It could use some editing (no mention of controversies, Triumvirate is intact, say Ministry of Magic with a straight face, etc) and better integration into the "new world", but under the circumstances I suggest just adding some kind of blurb at the bottom to avoid any headaches. Something like:The Mistone Alliance, whose existence was already challenged after the death of Bloodstone, was disbanded with the death of Queen Allurial in 1410. MAS ships were decommissioned, but some, like prominent members of the Ministries, found positions serving the newly formed kingdoms.[/i]

Fixed Bugs / Rael and Sun Timeline Minor Consistency Edits
« on: May 04, 2017, 06:11:35 pm »
Rael Timeline:
1375
King Waylend calls for outside help on a continent-wide rat problem. Adventurers in conjunction with the Church of Aragen and the king's leading mage unravel the problem as the foreshadowing of Blood's General Drezneb. At the same time, the then current Hierophant of Layonara, Rhizome, finds evidence from increased treant attacks
Rhizome did not become Hierophant until the 1390s; he may have been High Druid of Mistone by this time, however, as he certainly would be by 1381. It's possible he was neither, though. Do we know if this was before or after his epic? This is aroundish the same time, and the actual subject of his epic escapes me, but I don't think he was High Druid until after... Anyway. Not Hierophant. Perhaps we could just change it to, "At the same time, Rhizome, who would later become Hierophant of Layonara, finds evidence..."

Sun Kingdom History vs Timeline:

From HistoryThis came to his advantage as at the age of 35 his ship was finally caught and the captain jailed awaiting execution on the gallows of what is now Vehl.

From Timeline-10 Captain Edmund Lan Du'Morey escapes or is let go from a Hempstead prison.

I believe both used to say the latter and the first was changed but not the second. First makes most sense, also, as Hempstead is post-cata and the first specifies "what is now Vehl". Should just change to "Captain Edmund Lan Du'Morey escapes or is let go from a prison in what is now Vehl."

PS I could help with these kinds of things myself if you give me a red pen, but there's no telling what else I will go on an edit spree with *shifty* :P

Trade and Market Hall / Are These Your Boots?
« on: August 16, 2016, 01:44:09 pm »
A badly sketched impression of them graces a parchment in charcoal, looking like a pair of stockings. There are several arrows around them pointing to them, in case the viewer was in doubt about the subject, and around the arrows are question marks, in case anyone else doubted that she really wants to know. Below is a lengthy explanation scrawled and smeared in ink. You were an anonymous bidder at Charm's Auction that I outbid on some very nice stalking boots in order to make sure they were really the ones you wanted, borrowing you know, and anyway it was really rather exciting because I've never had enough gold to bid in an auction before, except no one ever told me who had actually wanted the boots and so I never found you in order to sell them back to you AND the purchase really rather beggared me and also if we are being perfectly honest the gold wasn't exactly mine to begin with, so it would be wondrous if the person who wanted Folian's Stalking Boots would come forward and reimburse me, because they are just far too large for me and anyhow footwear except footies makes me trip over everything. THANKS

Monk still has the default description on the class:
Though they don't cast spells, monks channel a subtle energy, called ki. This energy allows them to perform amazing feats, such as healing themselves, catching arrows in flight, and dodging blows with lightning speed. Their mundane and ki-based abilities grow with experience, granting them more power over themselves and their environment.
Perhaps we should copy the WM disclaimer to the bottom of the monk page:
Note: The term "ki" should be considered an OOC description, and does not refer to any sort of magical, divine, or supernatural power; characters do not channel ki, nor does ki exist as any sort of energy in itself. Any players who do choose to use the term as part of their RP should recognize that the ability to use "ki" based feats or abilities is the result of years of practice and extreme focus and concentration, leading to supreme muscle and nerve control. We prefer that "ki" be not used in this context at all.
Although... in my opinion, I think taking the nuclear route of "no one's anything ever works x way" is unnecessarily restrictive - that the monk (or any class) description should be about the core necessities of the class and leave room for everyone's fluff. I think sometimes we react too hard the other way in response to people using things unexpectedly, and shut out the the possibility of things we approved of at one time, heh.

LORE Ideas, Suggestions and Requests / Mist Hierarchy Update

Yashilla is dead (or at least presumed dead as she was bound, but no longer Tide at any rate), and Hardragh is, to my knowledge, still the Tide of the North. I have some knowledge of the events and politics plus the forum fragments, but I'm very hesitant to write a suggestion for him without more... I don't mind doing this if there is no one else, but it would be helpful to have a quest writeup... I like that Yash has a place in the old writeup, because the Carocsa stuff especially is a cool part of history that I think newer people don't even necessarily realize occurred IG, but Hardragh has supplanted her. I think part of her bio can be swallowed by his so there's still a hat tipped to what had gone before. Edit - I think the above definitely needs changing, but a potential suggestion for addition might also be Jaelle's role, even if her role doesn't fall strictly within the pages already established. I think maybe something for the "regalia" of the goddess in general might serve, leading to Jaelle's part in its latest saga? PS I added at least placeholders for both of these things in my alternate timeline
