Ask A Gamemaster / Re: Grave marker for perm'd character

Just as a matter of curiosity, is there a problem with putting his marker in Willow's Weep?  That is of course the intended place for memorials for characters who have permed.

*smiles* Only one person have ever been buried there, the first character that permed, and 5 years later noone have decided to be placed there, because they have ties otherwhere.

* Lin'da bows down silently when she hears of Shiff's death *

Thank you Lucinda for making me travel with friends. Friends that know how I react and how I feel. Friends that know when I'm in trouble and when I need aid. Thank you for helping me stay the course and not loose battles. Thank you for not making me weak and complain about things I cannot change anyway. Thank you for giving me the insight to not fight loosing battles. Thank you for making me depend on my friends. Thank you for not judging my opponent on the name he holds himself to, but for the evil he is. For these things I am thankfull.

* Lin'da rises and looks around, then says: *

Rest in peace Shiff Dragonheart.

*She uses a invisibillity spell and footsteps is heard going out of Port Hempstead*

Fixed Bugs / Re: Defensive Roll?

This could be related to a thing that have been fixed in 1.69, so when its rolled out, you should be good. Dont rely on it until then *smiles*
  • The Defensive Roll feat now works 1/day as per the description.
You can see all the changes here

So because I can make an crafted item, means that the value of that item is less than the value I could get for it, selling it? Meaning that its "cheaper"?

No wonder we can't sell anything these days.

Layonara Server / Re: Bioware NWN 1.69 Released -- DO NOT UPDATE
« on: July 10, 2008, 05:12:05 am »
  • Fixed issue with corrupted textures on newer Nvidia cards.
  • Updated Weapon Finesse to work with all Creature Weapons regardless of the creature's size.
  • Fixed client crash that seemed to be related to other players coming out of stealth.
  • Screenshots are now prefixed with the module name (set in the Module properties in the toolset) rather than "NWN". Screenshots are also now placed in the screenshots subdirectory.
  • Fixed issue with resting not getting canceled correctly if a member of your party started attacking something during your rest period (the OnPlayerRest event is now properly called in this situation).
  • Made some changes that will hopefully address area loading crashes related to "shiny water" being enabled in watery areas of the official campaign.
Some of my favorites fixes.

See the rest here

*raises hand*  I don't think anyone can see the flashy lights surrounding your character and I think it is a visual indication to the player that the buffs/spells are still in effect on the character.  Nor do I think your skin looks like bark or stone when buffed with stone/barkskin.

I wouldn't mind if all visual effects are taken off completely, including those on monsters/npc's.  Each player has a whole bar of icons they can look at to see which spells are active and when they fade.

I agree on that. Lets remove all flashy wards and spells from people, and just keep it simple.

There is only one spell for wizards with a static value that also have a dice affected value, that get affected by empower spell, and as Lonnarin implies, that makes these spells a -whole- lot of fun. Unfortuntely these spells are also very volatile and requires some presice aiming.

Try to name that spell *smiles*

Ask A Gamemaster / Re: Empower and Maximise
« on: July 08, 2008, 11:44:59 am »
From a wizard stand point, I hardly ever use empower anymore, except if its to juggle a few spells around to fit here and there.

Maximise is mostly used for stat buffs as the garanteed +5 gives the extra egde you need. This is not always the case for clerics as they use their 5th circle spells for alot of other diffrent things than wizards.

But extend, is a favorite, and also either silent or still spell, as it allows -every- spell regardless of whether its a combat/defensive spells to be shifted one higher up. Absolutely nessecary for high level wizardring.

But as I said, that is wizard tactics.
