Sipping on his morning coffee, the realtor thumbs through his ledgers and is suddenly startled when the door swings open, crashing nearly off its hinges.
"I need a place to lay low, nice an private loike. no questions asked," grumbles the sullen one-eyed dwarf through a long black matted beard. The stench on his breath a sickening sweet mix of rye and bloodlust.
"That will be a hefty order sir... for on such as you? Fifty-Thousand." the realtor chortles, expecting this ill-kept vagabond to be priced out of the market. "And we don\t offer lines of credit"
"Fifty Thousand? That all?" the dwarf casually pulls open a loop from his enchanted bag and digs through its contents as a prospector of many things. "Ye take coin, emerald, mithral, ruby or skulls?"
"Just the coin, thank you." The merchant simmers.
With a jingle, a single burlap sack, stained with the blood of countless giants, ogres, trollocs and various other beasties lands with a crack on the table, which creaks and buckles under its weight.
"You could have just had a bank note issued... it's two doors down you know"
"Yeah, I know! Now get to counting, I ain't got all day!"
And with that, the dwarven pirate chortled and marches off to his new home overlooking the lake of bountiful carp. The lawn soon begins to clutter with the skulls of various exotic monsters, artfully placed as any garden gnome.
A new reign of terror begins.
Pushing this one back as well. Seeing how bad it is now and the main hurricane is expected to hit our city in about 10 hours... yeah, we'rew DEFINITELY going to lose power tonight. Hope I still have a computer and house after this one!
Let's shoot for friday then. I may get hit by the hurricane and power go out, so what I'll do is try to set up each custom area with emergency portals for players to evacuate as needed. On the plus side, don't have work then due to the hurricane! If I'm going to die, let it be while GMing!
Far-Fetched or... AWESOME?
Reminds me to have more malevolent witches and warlocks in my sessions that change players into crazy things.
Except the dwarves... oh so many issues appearance warping a dwarf... *shifty eyes at Great Ape Bobre*
Gormungard is trying to come back but having issues connecting to the server.
Sorry I missed you then! I got off work after you logged off. I'll try to be on again this weekend around 5ish PM EST if that works for you? And feel free to PM me if I'm in game as Annie, Magnar, Kurn, Grovel, Gromak, Vell'dryn, Belmir or Farros!
Mongrel Men shouldn't really be born anymore. Ogrillon either.
I think however that subraces can still interbreed. Like gold dwarves and shield dwarves and deep dwarves, wood elves, moon elves, wild elves, etc. I may be wrong however. I think they just become whatever the more prevalent DNA wins out for the resulting subrace of the offspring, with minor aesthetic traits shared.
I think the main reason we went for no half-breeds was to phase out the tieflings and the aasimar which are part of D&D/planescape properties. I do miss half ogres and half giants however. Wish we could just make a pure ogre race for them, as their loss pretty much halts any PC bothering to worship Grannoch. And being able to use two Greatswords at once! (JUSTICE!)
Also, I was playing around with some custom skins for monsters and found a VERY awesome half-giant variation that was far better than the one we were using way back. They look like huge lurking half ogres with a silly shuffle walk with dragging knuckles. I was further playing around with that model and adding wings, tails, skin color etc and wound up putting together Gargoyle models that look on par with the cartoon Gargoyles. Fully emoteable too! An idea perhaps for some NPCs on an upcoming quest.
