Fixed Bugs / Re: LORE content error
« on: August 23, 2007, 02:48:08 am »
The NWN manual does not list Toughness as a fighter bonus feat.

Neither does NWNWiki.

And in solo play, I could not select Toughness as a bonus feat for a fighter character.

So....I'm reasonably confident in saying that Olme is correct. Toughness should not listed as a bonus feat for fighters.

LORE Ideas, Suggestions and Requests / Re: Temple donations

Is there a way to know what my char have donated to the temple... besides adding up the receipt? I can look up the total donation for a particular deity, but it would be nice if I could see how much been donated by me

Perhaps, when Lore is up and running again, add a line to the Character page, stating what he has donated (not mentioning the god maybe... but just the total amount)

It's possible for something like this to be added to LORE but the ones who can do that are very busy with other projects. I'll add this to my list of items to track for LORE but I really couldn't tell you when or even if this might happen as I don't set the priorities for which projects are implemented. To be honest, I'm not sure that implementing something like this would have a big impact on the game compared to some of the other projects that are in the hopper.

General Discussion / Re: Undead Resting Place kudos.

I'd like to second osxmallard's sentiment. Tanman turned what we thought was going to be a routine evening into a fun, chaotic and exciting trip from which only half of us escaped without dying.

Good rule of thumb: when the only fighter in the group says "Run!"....you should.

Looks like Tobias has made a similar request.

For future reference, the thread is located here.

Cheers!

I belive that to be the case. Let me check with OneST8 and I'll get back to you.

As far as I know, LORE is still frozen from the server migration.

General Discussion / Re: Global Warming

For those that haven't seen it, I would suggest viewing "An Inconvenient Truth."

And then I would suggest viewing the BBC documentary "The Great Global Warming Swindle" which can be seen free at Google Video.

There is merit to hearing differing viewpoints on the issue.

Fixed Bugs / Re: duplicate characters under separate bioware names

This will take a little behind-the-scenes work and unfortunately, I don't have that kind of access (not that I have the skills needed, either).

It may take a little time so please be patient.

Thanks for reporting this and researching it. Moving to Bioware Issues.

This is a very good idea. I'm sorry for not having acted upon it sooner.

I have one issue that I've requested clarification from Ed and Leanthar; once that's resolved, we'll get LORE updated.

You would have died in less than 12 seconds. I've timed it; it's not pretty.  O.o

The description on LORE for Half Giants states that they are totally hairless.

Leanthar (or maybe EdTheKet) would have to decide whether or not the racial description for Half Giants should be changed. I'll check with them.

So at the moment, it seems Tygular (the character submission) has an accurate description for a Half Giant character.

... but I recall discussion at the time of the original post that it was a difficult fix, and low priority at the time.

You recall correctly. This remains an action item for the LORE team but it will require the attention of someone with more technical skill and access to the coding than we currently possess. And, as you mention, this is of relatively low priority.

Fixed Bugs / Re: Race description: Half-Giant
« on: April 04, 2007, 10:47:36 pm »
The V3 alignment restrictions state "The following races must start out as CN, TN, NE, or LE: Dark Elf, Half Orc, Half Giant, Half Ogre, Orc, Goblin, and Duergar. There is one exception to this; a cleric character that follows Az'atta (regardless of race) may start out with a good alignment."

The way it is currently stated, an eventual shift to an alignment other than CN, TN, NE or LE is not impossible. So I could foresee a Half Giant character shift alignment from CN to CG over the course of time, for example. Therefore, I'm not certain that a change should be made to the alignment sections on the LORE pages for the races in question.

I also interpret the alignment restriction as that at character creation, a PC of one of those races must be one of the alignments listed (CN, TN, NE, LE) and not that a PC of one of those races can be any of the alignments listed. So a new Half Giant character under the existing rule would have to start as CN, TN or NE (since Lawful is not permitted). Of course, here I should point out that I am not a character approver nor a GM and therefore I do not have the final say on the subject.

Let's wait and see if someone with more authority than me chimes in; if not, I'll ask. *gives a sideways glance in Ed's general direction*

Keep 'em coming!

- Can a calender moderator post these up as I appear to not have access.  Thanks a lot.

;)

I'm not a calendar moderator (do we have calendar moderators?) but I've posted both of these events on the Players calendar.

Regretfully, I will be unable to attend either session because I will be at work or getting ready for work. :(

Ravemore has it right. This should be a temporary problem that is fixed once the server migration process is complete (see OneST8's post here.)
