High-level spellslingers, sure, but low-to-mid levels? Nah.

*grins* How many low level figther have you seen gather valuable resources on their own... 8)

*grins* I had the impression that the spellslingers were the most powerfull players on the server with the exstremely powerfull summons they have on Layo... That the str based players are more powerfull is completely new to me.

But yes the str based players can carry alot and that is one of the few benifits they have, but a polymorphed wizard or a spelslinger with maximized bullstrength, they can carry a lot to...

*nods* saw that one coming miles away... Harloff the great fortuneteller, give me a billion dollars and I will tell you your future... "in a short while you will start feeling that someone has tricked you of a billion dollars."

*scratches his beard* or perhaps I just knew it because you told me...

Had to end like this I guess...

General Discussion / Re: Transferring characters to NWN2?
« on: June 06, 2006, 08:53:11 am »
I am for a complete wipe Í see no other logical solutions. letting some people start at higher levels than 1 and others at level 1 would be idotic and unfair to say the least. And halving levels as i suggested in a previous thread would also be odd since alot of characters would be stripped of their prestige classes that way. So I say wipe the whole server, it would also be the solution that would take the least effort for the team.

I don't know whether it is true or not, that most good tinkers a muscle men. Skarp is one of the characters with most tinkering exp but that doesn't make him one of the best tinkers he just has more exsperience but he will never become very good due to his lousy stats. My guess is that a lot of characters with lower tinker levels are better than Skarp. However, I don't know whether it is a good idea to change the recipies, but i think using diamond dust for rods IV is a bit wild since diamonds are so relatively difficult to get by and that some recipies take more than one rod IV.

Unless you get a better bonus from the armor than suggested, I cannot why anyone woud want to use it.

I think it would be a better idea to make a "undead resistance powder" (based on silver) giving some sort of additional bonuses that would be usefull against undead.

It is more expensive to get drunk in Layonara than it is the scandinavian countries! (and that's saying something)

*grins* It actually ain't that expensive to get drunk in Denmark, and last time i checked it was still a scandinavian country. For 100 kr (approx 10 £ or 17 $) you can get 2 crates of beer at standard discount, which is equal to 20 liters of beer (4.6 % vol. acl.) And I guess most people could get rather drunk drinking that quantity. But it is true that we can get 3 crates drinving across the border to Germany for 100 kr, but still...

I think you are refering to Norway and sweden *shakes his head* evethough they are our brother contries they took a wrong turn somewhere...

CNR Suggestions/Discussion / Re: adamantium related question
« on: May 01, 2006, 01:29:23 am »
I ask people where they have their adamantium from... and they say it is from golems which is supported by the fact that it is mangled. I assume it is from the east server, but that is only based on the fact that i know of no other places adamantium golems can be found.

General Discussion / Re: Removing ECDQ's
« on: April 28, 2006, 12:18:17 am »
*smiles* I was only making a suggestion because I knew at least one gm (Meizter) who broke their back on CDQ/EDCQ's. And I just came with this suggestion in order to help.

Someone said it is a simple matter of supply and demand, and that is of course true but I don't think that the demand can ever be met. Over time people will gain levels and eventually end up at level 20, it can be made harder as some suggest but eventually they will get to level 20 no matter what. So the demand will always be there and steadily increase because of the popularity of the server. Even i it is fixed that way there are around 30 characters waiting for ECDQ's and about 11 months que on one (that is what Varka told me at least not checked it myself since it has never been relevant for me), and I bet some players will reach level 20 in the next 11 months. So the demand is there and will be there in the future too. However, dm's come and go and most of the gm's who stop do it because the workload i to high. That is at least the expression I have after reading their reasons for ending their carrier, and there is no signs of the workload getting smaller. New server rules are added that the gm's have to keep an eye on, more people demand ECDQ's and so on... So as I see it the team can never meet the demand, and the waiting list will continue to grow and grow. It might be me just seing things negatively but it is my impression that the waiting lists have steadily increased in the 1.2 years I have played.

I understand from the post above that many see my suggestion as sacrelegious, which is of course caused by me not seing it as a big deal (still don't and you can't convince me, I simply don't think that way). And I accept your different view on the matter eventhough I don't understand it, perhaps caused by my education as an engineer, I think in mathematical logics e.i. level 21 comes after level 20 as level 11 comes after 10. Furthermore, I see no direct correlation between slow level progress and good RP, I do, however, see a direct correlation between time online and level progress and between time on quests and level progress. However, the correlation between time online and level progress is ruined if you want to become a high level crafter then your time online will be spend on grinding crafing exp rather than adventuring exp.

I am sure that the thing about level 9-12 being harder to get than level 13-20 is caused by the exp reqirements and the exp limit. Meaning that a level 9 and a level 14 have the same exp req. but when a level 9 kill a giant on central he will get less exp for the kill than the level 14 because of the exp. limit. Besides that he will of course have a much more difficult task in killing the giant than the high level and thus can't kill as many per hour as a level 14.

In the end I believe it boils down to the fact that the system is build around an increasing level requirement to gain a level but on layo we have a flat level requirement.

1) The NWN2 version of Layonara will be later in time than the current one.

Are we talking about many years, so that no other than elven characters are likely to be alive?

Or so many years that all characters will be dead?

awww, there wasn't an option on the poll for those of us out there who just don't care.  Wipe or no wipe, we'll enjoy whatever comes, and a server wipe is really the last thing on our minds.  Or am I the only one?

That was something I had forgotten to think about... Maybe it is just because I never thought of it, blessed as I am with an opnion about (almost) everything.

*shrugs* I have never been able to go on any plot quests due to the time zones, work and level restrictions, so I don't care much about the plot to be honest.

hmmm... my list is ordered alphabetically by artist so it would be kind of boring just to write 10 beatles songs... so I have chosen a slightly different format...

1 ) Beatles - the blue album 2nd CD
2 ) Eric Clapton - Slowhand
3 ) Joe Cocker - Sheffield Steel
4 ) Phil Collins - We can't dance
5 ) Poul Dissing - Hymner og ukrudt
6 ) The Doors - Greatest
7 ) The Dubliners - Milestones
8 ) Bob Dylan - Desire
9 ) Gnags - Den blå hund
10 ) Niels Hausgaard - Fornuftens land

Conclusion: Danish guy with an affinety for music produced before he was born.... Back when the hippies ruled the world.... 8)

The ECL has the effect that you don't get at much exp per. kill, and thus slowing your level advance that way. You will still need exactly the same ammount of exp to progress as everybody else...

*nods* we sure have... But even she would wear something underneath a metal armor, she might like the feeling of having leather directly on her skin (I can imagine it will become a bit sticky and smelly) but I seriously doubt that she woulld wear iron like that, the joints would be very unconftable....

Fixed Bugs / Re: Scent Feat Question
« on: April 24, 2006, 01:13:37 am »
well, I have it as a bear warrior and it is a feat that you have to activate, and when you do you get a complete list of all creatures in the area (title and everything e.g. shaman brute) including party members and other PC's. So this is a VERY usefull feat you will always know beforehand what types of foes you will face. Unless it is a spawn that hasn't been activated yet...

The bear warrior finds it by right clicking and choose the submenu at 9 o'clock and choosing the bear warriors feats there. But I have never been a wemic so I don't know how it works for them...
