General Discussion / Minimum experience for crafting
« on: January 31, 2021, 01:37:30 pm »
When a character is an absolute expert in making something like a rune, a ring, or bow, the player should get a minimum of 1 point of experience instead of 0 points of experience when they make an item.  When the expert crafter gets 0 points of experience for everything they make, they drop off the list of experts in their craft.

It's been four years since Jil's comment and I'd like to support her assertion that it would be extra nice if Archane Archers who are masters of the art of making bows could also name the bows they make.....   (unless we can now and I am unaware, again)   -SehKy

General Discussion / Re: Computer keeps failing to boot OS. Help!
« on: February 15, 2013, 12:06:44 pm »
For what it is worth to you...  What I do in these situations:
 (1) remove the 'bad drive '; (2) install windows on a second hard drive I have laying around then (3) reconnect the 'bad drive' as the second drive to perform diagnostics.  Windows has a very hard time performing drive maintenance on the same drive it booted from.  This is a great way to repair boot sectors; repair corrupted file allocation tables; or as a last resort back up data before you scrap the drive.

I actually have a version of windows installed on a thumb drive that I can boot to.  Setting up a thumb drive for booting windows is less trivial but I'll toss it out there for you if you don't have a spare hard drive laying around.

SehKy, Keela, Talia, Glitch'nich pass the test of will and gain access to the domain of the Great Oak under escort of Zire Silverleaf, Druid of Katia (Orth).

Zire Silverleaf, Druid of Katia tells stories looking where Rhizome and Vervesh are.

  • Plen was there and apparently just left
  • Vervesh heard the last words of Ozlo the dragon...
  • Story of Eon:cursed traitor, once mortal friend of Katia, succumed to the power of a blood pool and ravaged Katia's work in the forest.
  • Eon was once an adventurer, greatest friends Karrak and Katia.
  • Settling Belinara. Katia was building forests.
  • Eon drifted away found a blood Pool and Sinthar corrupted him.  Destroyed the forrests that Katia started to prove worth to Sinthar.
  • Katia restarted her work. Started the great forest.
  • Katia found an injured and sick man.
  • Katian helped this man and the love intensified her efforts to build up nature.  This man had a secret.  He was Rofirein.
  • The Great Oak is Katia's Embodiment.
  • Rofirein represents both silver and gold.  the guardian of the Metallic Children of the Dragon Realms
  • The Gold's Eye... Ausir the Silver Moon

NWN Ideas, Suggestions, Requests / Re: Hail of Arrows Question
« on: November 28, 2012, 01:54:43 pm »
Wow, thanks everyone for all the responses and discussion.  I did not anticipate so much activity from my simple question.

I am actually quite satisfied with SehKy's 'power' and really was thinking about how to make it more 'interesting', honest.  The magic arrows produced by all AA feats do not visually appear very magical IMO..  they visually look like normal arrows that turn or otherwise behave magically.  They are actually hard to see.  I was playing with the Hail of Arrows the other day and was thinking that the feat was cool and interesting, but I doubted that the other players I was with even noticed I used the feat.

Now if the feat used the arrows I had in my quiver (enchanted) then the visual effect would be noticeable and kind of cool and unique to AA's.  Consider how Hail of Arrows visually compares to the Fire Brand Spell.

If the AA magic arrows "looked" magical then it would perhaps better tell the story.

SehKy and litch Arthenon, litch King Amal Zul, Fire Lord Zalagar Cinder

The desert in ancient times, it was Arthenon who had ventured into a deep crypt to unlock long forbidden magics.  Arthenon found the long undead king Amal Zul in the vaults. From the time shortly after that of the dragons King Amal Zul was worshipped as a God King among his primitive people...

Eager for power and knowledge Arthnon made a pact with the undead King Amal Zul, to trade places and assume his knowledge, take his kingdom from him and thus Amal Zul tricked Arthenon, freeing Amal Zul from his prison and placing Arthenon in his place in a ruin beneath he sands.

With Jillian and Riley's help, SehKy set Arthenon to rest.  The Curse then began to pull back  Amal Zul from the realm of another plane. Seers possessed by dark spirits heralded his coming. Seers of a third eye tattoo emblazoned on their foreheads .  Amal Zul sought to come into the realm and rule it anew. The beings of the planes of the elements too were set free and the Fire Lord Zalagar Cinder attempted to invade, but was defeated in  single combat by Riley Alexander.

With that threat thwarted, Amal Zul still beckoned from beyond the realms, trying to be reborn with dread artifacts: the Censor of Binding; the Tome of Knowledge and the Quill of Remaking.  The Tome of Knowledge was self-aware, could talk, cast spells, and fly. SehKy shot it down multiple times during escape attempts by the Tome. Sehky delivered the Censor of Binding; the Tome of Knowledge and the Quill of Remaking to the Lucinda Temple in Spellgard for destruction, effectively sealing Amal Zul in his dimension;  preventing him from being reborn.

By silencing the Tome of Knowledge, the word of the ancient king of undead, another song was ready to be sung. It lay dormant too, until the act of the Rekindler (Storold repairing dead magic areas of Layonara).

*Visited the Prunilla Temple then the Azattan Temple with Ferrit and Storold after they were attacked by a dark elf and spiders.   They witnessed a man murdered and his soul devoured.*

The murdered man was a doomsayer and warned of "a coming darkness...   a  female god whose name is unknown is guiding the dark elves to the surface"

Dark Elven Note Ferrit Found on the assassin: "This one can see! Others are like him. Root them out or they wil spoil out plans... Use these tools of the Dark Mother and he shall be silenced forever.  Watch him and all he speaks to.  They must be blind to the comming darkness"
