Ok I was able to delete the file.! I think I was in "freakout" mode last night because it was so big and growing...I was afraid that deleting it was a trojan type thing that was eating out my insides and laughing. Anyways, thanks for the help and confidence boost to let the delete run its course.
I still need to download ubuntu. I will try and find a safer source...I think the download I got was off a post in the Unbuntu forums. I had to go there because Ubuntu doesn't currently issue a 32bit download anymore, so I found that one on their forums. I'll try and look for a better source..any suggestions?
Oh also I read that when you download Ubuntu you shouldn't use winrar or other zip programs and that's exactly what I used (winrar) the last time. It didn't create an ISO image, so I had to try and find a way to make the downloaded folder/file into an ISO image...pain. What program should I use to download Ubuntu as an "ISO image" on to my desktop so I can burn it? Any help would be welcome! gona go eat lunch
I tried to download Ubuntu so I could burn it to a CD (trying to get EE going this way). Well, I think I may have downloaded a virus. I have this folder on my desktop labeled ubuntu and if I right click the properties it shows the file size growing very rapidly with no stop in sight (goes from 1.7gb to 3gb in about 15 seconds).
If I try and delete it, then after sometime it says the recycle bin can't handle the size, so it give me an option to permanently delete it; then I do that and it warns me it contains system files that may damage my computer.
I ran avast, malwarebytes, ccleaner and one other I can't recall AMG? (I think it's avast with another name). None have found this file or deleted it. I can't open system restore at all; I tried in safe mode also an nay.
Any ideas on how to get rid of this file or clean my computer or maybe get system restore working?
PS I'll try and get on discord later this afternoon when I have more time

Still working on getting EE up over here...probably spend some time tonight on it. I did have a question about the old Layo...are we wasting our time getting xp and items on old layo? Chaz said something about a 26 hr lookback when we go port our char's to EE. Just trying to figure out how that works and if new stuff we earn on old layo will port to EE.

*Center is seeing more horse traffic of late. The Bullseye has gals outside on the street holding ales, giggling and kicking some kind of ball that appears to be a beholder eye. The locals are not happy but the merchants are. A small group finds a quiet spot to talk in a corner of the Bullseye. They are cloaked and hooded and they have two tables and some empty chairs. The moons appear to be turning a different color and everyone is searching for answers.*

Thanks again. We're kinda still waivering on the cost issue and the setup time. Also I've formed a bond with my old Dell.
We're considering the Linux option now. It seems to be free. I'm learning more about it but it sounds interesting. I was hoping on being able to run it at the same time as windows, but not sure if I can or how. Any advice about installing/running Linux and playing NWNEE on it?
Also, we might just get the EE and try running it on our current system n see what happens. Some forum posts say it may work.

Thanks for the link and info.
We run Dell Optiplex GX 280's right now with Pentium(R) 4 CPU, 2.8GHz, 1.99GB Ram (Ram was upgraded a little by us). Our graphics cards are original equipment; Intel(R) 82915G, Express Chipset Family.
Wonder if cheaper to buy Win7 (x2) and two graphics cards? We'd need miscrosoft office for Word and Excell.
We use our computers for light business (Word, Excell, Quickbooks) and casual internet surfing and email. Probably Layo is the biggest draw.
We'll look into our options some more. $189 (from your link) for a new system doesn't seem to bad considering.
It says on some of the NWN EE descriptions that you need an OS of windows 7 or higher. So, my brother and I only run windows XP right now...is that gona be a problem?
Hi thanks for this question and the response! This was really bugging me. I tried to change settings to "one at a time" and still same issue. Then I tried "show all at once" and that fixed it! Team work.

Description: Griff was fighting a GF Stalker and when the Stalker cast battletide, Griff resisted the spell, and then, praise Vorax, Griff divinely confiscated it in battle. The Stalker had no battletide and Griff did.
Reproducable: not sure
Verified: not sure what that means
Note: probably due to Orth's recent battletide fix in the update

Dang that was a tough download for my low-tech skills. I tried dowloading with the default Winrar archiver thing....and when I put the files in the tlk/hak folders is said they had zero kb's; I also got error messages froom Winrar.
I then downloaded a new archive program 7-zip. I then had to go to the file as it was displayed in Winrar and go file-save archive file as...and I saved it to a dummy foler in NWW. Then I opened up 7-zip, found the folder in the dummy file and extracted it to the same dummy file and then moved it to the hak/tlk folder......Yah it worked.
Hope this helps some,
