Aye, that was always a frustrating part of the old plugin that we had no control over. I particularly programmed the nwnx name plugin to allow the player list to show the proper names while other parts work with introduction etc.

This should be corrected now by the way. You may have to rebind those domain spells to keys again. (Clear hot key then add it again)

Thanks! It's fixed.

Just a reminder you can use the =c bug command for quicker reporting.

So in this case you'd write:

Code: [Select]
=c bug there is a map pin for 158 Leringard but no corresponding house/door
The bug command will notify me what area the player is in as well as some other things.

First off, thank you to everyone for quickly reporting the bugs and having patience as we work through the kinks. This was a significant update and there was bound to be some niggling issues here and there.

Now some random notes.

  • The old 1.69 server will continue to run for a while as we make sure everything's okay and there's no need to fall back to it or log in on that end to check something. Characters who continue to play on 1.69 will be able to be migrated by hand.
  • There may be some changes to lore to open up some of the areas that are currently inaccessible.
  • For the most part, I will be dealing with the administrative end of things for NWN now. Dorganath and rowana are still accessible but they're more in the background.
  • Project team members will be welcome should you have interest in building new areas or contributing in other ways.
  • All old information has been ported to https://wiki.layonara.com but we need to add structure. Use the search functionality if you're looking for something.
  • There will be another bonus period starting soon.
  • If you're having trouble accessing your characters from the vault, create a test character and let me know the name of your test character and I will move your PCs over
  • The address is ee.layonara.com:5121, we'll also show up under the server listing

A further note on Layonara lore

Layonara's lore is a bit muddled with general staleness as the time has passed, among other things. We ask that you do your best to work with what you know right now. Things may have to change a bit to suit some planned improvements to NWN, so please do your best to work with what's necessary for you to enjoy your time here. The future you create through NWN will still be decided by you the player, but for the most part, that will stay as NWN lore. It may so happen that canon Layonara lore will diverge through other outlets and production in the future, but that doesn't mean NWN Layonara is not true. Much like comic book timelines, it's all true and meant to be enjoyed.

Just some fixes that have been made, thanks for all the folks using the =c bug command

- True Seeing VFX on eyes works again
- Racial bonuses on ammunition works again
- GMW and Magic Weapon works on ranged again
- Horses being invisible was fixed (they were actually scaled to zero)
- Pawn shops should keep cycling through the six open quests instead of stopping after a few
- Merchants not opening their inventory has been fixed

A couple of these are in the next patch update I'll do when it's quiet but most of them are in the running module. I will keep changelogs in a cleaner place for future releases instead of continuing to use this thread.

Okay, more paladin warhorse oddness.  I think..*lowers his voice looking around for invisible hoofprints* I think my horse might be a wizard.  He's invisible.  I heard him running toward me when I blew my whistle, but I couldn't see him.  I felt his breath //saw his name with Tab// but I couldn't touch him.

Hehe, we were just discussing this bug in discord.

It is related to me setting the size of the horse to the PC's size. If you didn't change your size then it was setting the horse scale to 0

I just reset the server with a hopeful fix to that and some other things.

You should not need to extract an iso at all, your burner program should know what to do with an iso

Hi,

I tried to download Ubuntu so I could burn it to a CD (trying to get EE going this way).  Well, I think I may have downloaded a virus.  I have this folder on my desktop labeled ubuntu and if I right click the properties it shows the file size growing very rapidly with no stop in sight (goes from 1.7gb to 3gb in about 15 seconds).

If I try and delete it, then after sometime it says the recycle bin can't handle the size, so it give me an option to permanently delete it; then I do that and it warns me it contains system files that may damage my computer.

I ran avast, malwarebytes, ccleaner and one other I can't recall AMG? (I think it's avast with another name).  None have found this file or deleted it.  I can't open system restore at all; I tried in safe mode also an nay.

Any ideas on how to get rid of this file or clean my computer or maybe get system restore working?

This makes not very much sense to me at all I'm afraid. It doesn't sound like a virus. It sounds like when you right clicked properties it was counting up the size of the iso when extracted which is going to be large and going to take time to count up.

I don't know why you aren't allowed to delete it. If you could take a screenie or picture of what it tells you that might help.

If it warned you it contained system files that might damage your computer but then wouldn't let you delete it that seems double weird.

A few more notes on some of the new stuff:

* Custom weapons work completely now, all feats and such, you can even be a double scimitar weapon master for example. The light pick, katar, sai, wind fire wheel and nunchaku are considered finessable. Katar for tiny+, the rest for small+ creatures. (Thanks to Hellblazer for the help with this)
* New spawns have random sizing
* Players can name their holy symbols
* Players can bold words/short phrases that they speak by surrounding them with

* Spammy unnecessary feedback messages have been removed. You remember that wall of text that used to tell you your quest journal has been updated the first time you logged in after a reset for example.
* When you lose a strand a tell is sent to you instead of a combat message as before it would get lost in the combat logging
* No one can log in while server is starting up as the passwords are different until the start up is completed

For now if you have a problem where you can't summon, use the saddle (it will give you an error message) then try the whistle again. I'm working on fixing this.

Still working on getting EE up over here...probably spend some time tonight on it.  I did have a question about the old Layo...are we wasting our time getting xp and items on old layo?  Chaz said something about a 26 hr lookback when we go port our char's to EE.  Just trying to figure out how that works and if new stuff we earn on old layo will port to EE.

You can gain items and character levels/XP/gold but keep them on your PC and I can migrate okay. Anything else is a kind of a pain in the butt.

Don't use bank vaults nor persistent storage, also crafting XP will be lost too.

I'm also taking your honour here at stake to not do the following: take something from your persistent chests and put them on your PC. If you do this that item will be in the new server's persistent chest and on your character, hence duplicating an item.

I can verify the differences in chests if I really feel like I need to audit, but I think you guys are honourable enough to not try to cheat the system. If you absolutely need something from a persistent chest then please tell me and I will delete it on the new server. Same goes for gold/items from a bank vault.

Thanks! They are all there. Probably already been asked, but how do we get the custom portraits working in EE?

You can download the portraits pack from the address below then extract those files in the My Documents/Neverwinter Nights/override folder.
