The summer pushes on as autumn soon approaches. The air has been particularly cool this summer and the farmers are reporting extremely low yields. Frosts are even being reported near some of the equatorial villages and towns.
Prunilla's top forecasting experts are very concerned about the upcoming fall harvest as all signs point to a biting cold autumn.
Sages and bar patrons alike have all been talking about the record low temperatures and are gearing up with what could be a very very long winter.

As we near the campaign end and we push on with the magical world we've all helped create, we come to a set of crossroads for the future of our second (or in some cases, first) home. For those of you who deeply care about where all these fantastical stories are forming, there is indeed a much more elaborate future, perhaps even beyond your wildest dreams.
This future extends well beyond NWN2, even beyond a computer game, to paths you may not have even considered. The massive volunteer effort over the years and the persistent dedication by our World Creator has opened realms to pursue that even Leanthar could have never dreamed of.
It is at these crossroads where I'm finding myself taking another route, pursuing an exciting future that will expend many of my energies. It is at this moment where I hand the torch over to the fully capable hands of Dorganath to manage the remaining days of NWN1. My presence as a developer here fades for the time being, my focus moves to alternate pursuits and roles for Layonara.
With that said, the transition to NWN2 will be something I will get deeply involved with to help things go as smooth and painless as possible. The planned September release date for Bioware, plus the inevitable time to get a world up to speed with our vision will probably mean a target of Jan/07 for Layonara NWN2. NWN1 will continue to exist over this period of time and perhaps overlap, until we start phasing out servers as the community and modules are no longer actively maintained.
The decision on character wipes or character transitions from NWN2 has not been solidified, we are examining every possible route but we've yet to come to a conclusion on the best path and feel there is no need to rush at it quite yet, especially with this campaign yet to end.
Now, the community needs to be well aware that the ability to maintain the level of world you've come to enjoy so much on NWN2 will require a lot of costs. The confidence that it's worth our time and effort over this period will be increased with any donations you can provide to help offset the high costs of hardware and server fees running the world. It would be a sad shame to spend months developing and Leanthar just not being able to afford to serve the world. More details on how you can help with this will be coming soon.
We can't guarantee any of this is set in stone, life has a strange way of twisting and turning, but these our are best plans. I am confident that Layonara can be a part of many of our lives, beyond a game... in essence it's own genre.

The halfling lass sits back down in the Inn sorting through some more papers before walking back up and posting another.
This is the full plate armor Plenarius Ashaley wore before assuming the Lordship over Birds. It has seen slashes by Fisterion, poundings by Titans, pokings by Milara and was almost melted by Blood's Hellballs.
It was forged and smithed by the legendary Baron of Lar and High Hammer of Dorand, Ta'karsh Blacklung.
It was worn when Katia was saved in the Broken, it was worn when Aeridin almost lost all touch to the world, it was worn when the Ancient Counsellor demanded freedom from his captivity, it was worn when the Harper's strings were passed, when the Red Moon ritual fell down again, when the Shifter paid a dear price. It has seen the Great Oak, the Peaks of Voltrex, the deep dark Underdark, the realms of the Underwater, from sea to sea, mountain and valley it has a voice of history.
It is truly more an epic tale contained within a suit of armor.
I will accept bids for this only from those who are Friendly or Allied to Katia or follow no deity but respect and honour Nature. The bidding will close before the week's end

As many of you know, recently Talan decided to take a leave. He was still helping in his roles and browsing the forum for a bit, but has now ensured us he is moving on for good after some furthur discussions.
I am not going to divulge his reasons, those are for him to share with his friends. I just wanted to take the time to thank Talan on behalf of Layonara for the efforts he gave while here. Talan was very committed to helping others and a hard worker in quite a few areas with LORE, development and community support. Losing this kind of contributor is a fair blow to the teams he was a part of and the community as a whole.
We sincerely wish him all the best in finding what he seeks and extend our gratitude for all of the effort he put in while here.
Take care and on a personal note, I'll miss you Talan, despite you driving me crazy sometimes.

Not an official stance or anything but I'm getting a little tired of RPing scripted quests as though they keep happening over and over. Can we all just pretend they are new every time? Paraphrasing Pankoki whom I was discussing this with "They're there to facilitate the progression of younger levels. Not a huge conspiracy."
No - Ragrian didn't lose her necklace _again_.
No - Erag is not amassing a collection of dark soul essence to destroy Hlint.
No - Nikki in Krandor has not asked for the ashes thirty eight hundred times and is secretly trying to kill everyone.
Those are just my thoughts, just wondering how others feel.

As Plen gives a last gaze into the T'oleflor realm, he heaves a contented sigh and says quietly to Tim, walking next to him. "My love and I leave and my other love and I part ways." He asks aloud "Why did Shadow say this, who is his first love he speaks of? The second is Selian I think..." Plen sighs and turns to Tim. "I've been called by the Dragon for almost four decades and I still have many uncertainties. I can only imagine how disorienting this could be to one recently called. There is not enough of the old around to fight this war without educating the young. That will be my next task. Communication has always been a key."
