Rumour Has It / The Sinister Forest
« on: September 13, 2010, 10:31:51 am »
The loss of an entire patrol prompted some swift action in the Sinister Forest. However the searching army also found some scouts and forward patrols had gone missing before enlisting the aid of a high profile mercenary company in the forest. Clashes with the vampiric remains of their former friends explained the mysterious losses among their number. After putting many vampires to rest the army withdrew it's forces and sent for the slayers.

Fixed Bugs / Misted cave exit into narrow ledge
« on: August 26, 2010, 11:43:10 am »
the exit here has you facing back into the cave, small point but worthy of fixing as it is a narrow ledge and often leads to clicking pc back in.

This is the exit from the cave returning you to the first screen for Misted and where narrow ledge is the entrance way to the cave.

5 boxes of honey wanted.

Lose your honey and make some money!

We will give cash for old honey. Recycle those unwanted honey gifts lying around the pantry gathering bears. It's as easy as taking money from goldilocks so don't miss out!

Best prices this side of the Hlint pond. See the Guvnor at Hlint for prompt payment. Don't be a loser all your life -get rich quick while you can. You know it makes sense.

Rumour Has It / Haven
« on: February 08, 2010, 05:51:45 pm »
A report from Nus the bard at Haven

I have just witnessed the raising of the standard of a new Army of the Silkwood. This force seems to be mainly comprised of light companies of foot and will operate in the Silkwood following recent events there.

Initial reports suggest Corathite Cultists have been defeated at the hands of a paladin led patrol out of Haven. Though other information would seem to suggest many local bandits, and soldiers of Haven also fell in running battles deep in the forest. This along with reports of anomalies in the Al Noth has caused some concerns and the situation remains confused and fluid.

The new army was addressed by a delegation from Spellgard led by a specialist Storold Doesscha concerning the dangers and likely signs of dead magic areas.

Rumour Has It / Moraken's quest
« on: January 23, 2010, 09:03:39 am »
Rumour has it Moraken is offering a reward for any cakes belonging to a creature of the Pits that has his uses to Moraken. It appears his imps have hidden a number of his cakes around layonara's darkest places. To spice things up Moraken has offered an additional reward for the three largest totals returned by any one group/player

//These may be found in game as long as server is up - there is no more than one in any dungeon.  Results to GM or/and stories to this thread thanks.

Rumour Has It / Lor
« on: November 26, 2009, 09:33:15 am »
An outspoken member of the Diet at Lor, Angela Swann, spoke out in favour of a town militia capable of operating outwith the town precincts independent of Prantz control. The idea did not sit well with the council and its advisors from Prantz. Nonetheless a small group of mercenaries were raised and fought to drive off some pirate raids. This led to further discussion on the format of any future defensive forces. Travellers to the Lor region are warned against increased pirate activity.

Rumour Has It / Hlint
« on: August 24, 2009, 03:22:59 am »
Four Dark Elves have been reported in the vicinity of Hlint by a local clergy-woman who is trusted and well regarded within the community.

Local guards were dispatched to investigate the sighting which was reported to have taken place at the wayside campfire often used by many travelers not far outside the town's walls. Upon ariving at the scene the patrol found the reported darkelves, and the others reported to be in their company to have fled the area.

Testimony states that at least one of these Dark Elves has been said to frequent within the walls of Port Hempstead as well. Citizens across Mistone are advised to be on the lookout for shady persons who hide their faces and report suspicious characters to their local authorities.

Descriptions of the Dark Elves sighted near Hlint are as follows:

'duchess' - Last seen dressed completely in red clothing, this female Dark Elf speaks with an unusual accented drawl that can be hard to understand, but which have a sweet, almost silky tone at times. *The description continues to give details about the approximate height, weight, and build of body of Eleandilethessa Quil'lyn*

'Eriis' - This male Dark Elf wears a face wrap of 'bandages' to cover his skin. *The description continues to give details about the approximate height, weight, and build of body of Mearden Fereir*

'Iradril' - This male Dark Elf may claim to follow Az'atta, citizens are urged not to be taken in by such claims. *The description continues to give details about the approximate height, weight, and build of body of Iradril Arkenrahel*

'Tyillaan' - Like the male Darke elf mentioned previously, this female Dark Elf may also make claims of following Az'atta. Again, citizens are urged not to fall prey to what may be a well practiced lie and not to be fooled by this Dark Elf's timid and quiet act. *The description continues to give details about the approximate height, weight, and build of body of Tyillaan Selaama*

Also seen in the company of the Dark Elves and now persons of interest in this inquiry, are the following individuals:

Verideth Lightbringer - A druid *a description of Verideth Lightbringer follows*
Layl - A musician *a description of Layl Maaw follows*
Alazira - A priestess of Ilsare *a description of Alazira follows*
Elivyan Silverthorn - A Wild Elf, oft seen in the company of a large bear named, "Yogi". *a description of Elivyan Silverthorn follows*
Razeriem - A follower of Ilsare and sculptor of stone statuary *a description of Razeriem follows*
'J' - A man called 'J' by one of the Dark Elves. *a description of Jehoram follows*

Rumour Has It / Vehl
« on: May 16, 2009, 04:32:56 am »
A figure popular with the masses and discredited to others, the enigma that was Arkolio, was seen moving among the poor of the dock area dispensing fresh caught and filleted fish. Master Adventurer maybe but master fisherman for sure. He handed out 26 catfish, 26 pike, 44 Bass and 23 salmon. The crowd received him and his generous nature with good cheer and a hearty welcome.

Rumour Has It / TLI series
« on: April 11, 2009, 04:41:00 am »
Thank Layonara it's ...

Starting a series of impromptu type events to allow PCs to participate in small events and short quests in a set time.

I will likely run these on Sundays and Tuesdays to cross some different time zones.

This might allow short and simple Deity, alignment organisation or other related developments.

It would be helpful for planning to know what PCs are going on these events.

I will gladly take ideas or desires to work with by PM (don't forget to detail PC/s involved) or a more public post here.

However these are not CDQs and it may be any events run are linked to others events - and PCs may not get a free run.

There will be no exclusive rights here. Searches for items not previously documented elsewhere will not be a game option.

GM participation may be limited depending on the event. IE I will be on line but may be flitting between groups depending on the story line and task etc.

Be prepared to play out any PC conflict created by player action, and expect consequences for actions, eventually if not immediately.

These games will hopefully be run against a background of the ongoing storylines elsewhere.

Roleplaying / Please don't make an Ox of it
« on: March 30, 2009, 04:15:05 am »
We have natty costume changes, personalised weapons, flags, banners, cloaks of distinction. We all love these and we readily sign up to all these aspects of RP and immersive features.

So can we show some restraint and keep the oxen out of the houses, Inns, banks, and crafting buildings. It makes the rest of the things above worth a little more.

 Thanks for your consideration.

Rumour Has It / Fresh from the Fort
« on: June 26, 2008, 06:17:50 am »
Nus the Bard was seen around Fort Wayfare obtaining the latest reports from forces posted in the Dark Peaks area. Corathite necromancers and foul plotters were litterally unearthed within their deep burrows by a Lucindite led sortie acting on behalf of the Army of Wayfare. Initial reports suggest they chose to go down fighting, and that their infernal summoning were destroyed.

A group of Gnomes and a small order of monks were said to have fled the scene, their presence there at odds with the Corathites but concerning nonetheless. Best information suggests they have been searching for lost relics.

Found among the remains of the fallen was a Gnomish scroll which made references to the location and strength of defences at Fort Wayfare. This important find was put to the general at the fort who said. " No need be alarmed at this time, information like this occassionally goes astray, and whilst we do not feel there is any cause for concern we advise citizens to remain alert while a review of the defences is carried out."

Nus was later seen to pack his bags and head south.

Just for Fun / Thorn's tactical tips
« on: April 10, 2008, 01:25:23 pm »
Assemble together a good mix of raw power, clever cunning, and barbarian stupidity. Progress in good order past all the challenges that dungeons throw at you combining all these skills into one close knit team - proving once and for all the total of all the parts is greater than the individual. Then finally when you reach so far down daylight is a distant memory, and the air barely stirs, and most of your healing has long since been applied -  have the barbarian fire in an arrow at the room full of bad guys.
