Local authorities have failed to identify a group of travellers who were found put to the sword near Valensk. This party was well armed and yet there were no survivors. This area never renowned for safe travel should be traversed with caution, until these recent events are explained.

a group of adventurers out exploring the goblin mines near to Hlint returned to report a strange encounter. The goblins seemed to be sheltering a travelling band of followers of Corath. For whatever reason they chose not to enter Hlint openly. So surprised at their discovery they attempted to summon a Balor Lord and things went badly for them. They were all killed by their own summons and the Balor Lord escaped. The adventurers returned to report matters at Hlint and a stout defence was arranged. All now is at peace and the guard have stood down. The Balor Lord has escaped elsewhere.

It is time to write; to write down my thoughts that I might better understand my future, and my past. I have grown up in the shadow of the Temple of Toran at Fort Llast, boy and man I have served, and willingly so. They offered me life where there was none, they taught me many things - the strength of the Temple over the individual, the rightous rules of life. They gave me order and purpose. A good Road Warden is a vigilant Road Warden, how often have I heard that, how often have I repeated it on the field of combat. I have honoured my debt of life, I have served my community, patrolled the roads of Mistone. I have grown with the task, but now, well now I seek new challenges, other ways I might serve the cause, using all that I have learned.
The book falls, the work unfinished. "But can I cut it in Pranzis, can I leave others to this duty here ?"

A notice is posted around Hlint.
To those who remain concerned as to the recent activities of the specialist of Toran, Undead Hunter of Pranzis, recently seen in these parts. Please take notice recent events have forced his return to Pranzis on other duties. It is with regret he reports that though he has disposed of many Vampires he has not found the lair, or fully destroyed the leading Vampire. This task must now fall to local resources, good luck!

Brualot enters the Inn making his way quietly to the Inn keeper. Looking around he notices the Inn is quiet. He has the look of a well travelled individual, and something more; a little anxious perhaps. He orders a hot drink and sets to writing a notice before pinning it to the wall.
Kobal, if you see this notice we need to talk. On that matter you had me think about, I have seen things in the mountains...things we should talk about, soon.
He gathers his belongings and steps outside again.

A hunting party intent upon helping out at Greywatch Tower were diverted by an elf, Shining Morningbreak, to deal with some pursuing Drow. He explained the probable Drow tactics and fled to get help. The party dug in having organised a defence and dealt with Drow, then waited in a good position for further attacks. These attacks did not materialise and they moved forward in search of other elf survivors. They found signs of a battle between a larger group of elves and even more Drow before realising the Drow were no longer following the elves but their trail circled off behind the party. It would appear they did not consider that they might now be the subject of the Drows attention and continued with their search. Another group of travellers chanced by the trail and ran into a Drow ambush retreating to where our party of hunters stood considering their next move. Alas for some reason they did not deem it necessary to warn of the Drow position. The hunting party moved off and they spotted the Drow using the tactics outlined by the elf at the start..but nonetheless were drawn into a fight with them, and encircled. They took some casualties and saw off the Drow..and were left to interpret the encounters as best they could. Travellers are warned to beware this further danger in the Delwin River area.

Basil Binn, a banker of Karthy, met with an untimely end during an overnight stop on the road to Karthy. He had with him an escort who were unable to prevent his death. And whilst no suspicion has fallen on them, neither have they been cleared. It is expected an enquiry of some sort may be held. The leader of this escort Tobin of the Temple of Toran has a previously unblemished record and he stated "I look forward to any such enquiry and the chance to clear me and my escort of any blame." Another member of the escort, Cole Norseman, reminded this Bard that the escort had not been paid and that the Captain was no longer in charge of the group.
