Rumour Has It / Shindalerians strike
« on: December 18, 2011, 08:19:52 am »
It seems no matter which way they turn the Mistites are suffering.

The latest loss comes off the coast of western Mistone with an attack on a Mistite vessel by Shindalerians. The Mistite vessel was badly damaged and many aboard killed before the Shindalerians retreated.

The vessel limped into Port Hempstead suffering heavy damage.

Rumour Has It / Snowtooth strikes again
« on: December 18, 2011, 08:17:29 am »
Snowtooth has been very active in the last 12 months, this time he has appeared in Leringard again on the docks and smashed his way into the Mistite Movement buildings tearing off the roof of the main building to do so and doing a great deal of damage.

Luckily this time no one seems to have been injured, but residents of the city are now grumbling and talking about making the Mistites pack up and leave the city for the city's citizens own safety.

Rumour Has It / Last arrival in Stort for the Ravens
« on: December 17, 2011, 03:51:25 pm »
It has been a long time coming but finally the full compliment of ships ordered by the Raven Trade Guild have arrived in Stort ready for duty.

A large number of the famous Morningstar vessels, Hurms speciality, one of the newer merchant class vessels now starting to appear on the worlds oceans.

Several scout ships famous for their work around Dreger. Their speed and shallow draft enabling them to move quickly and into waters larger ships cannot tread.

A single odd shaped merchant vessel common to the nations in the Rohden Alliance but able to carry large amounts of cargo easily.

And the pride of the fleet, a huge Starphire class ship build to specific details secretly in one of the finest Driran shipyards.

The Guild have waited for years for the full order to be delivered the longest to deliver being the large Starphire ship. Observers have noted that as the ship moves through the water one would swear the hull beneath the water gleams for some strange reason.

Nevertheless many members of the Ravens Guild were present when the last ship for their fleet was finally delivered. A proud day for all and the beginning of a dominant era in mercantile sea trade for the Ravens Guild.

Rumour Has It / Dragon Strike
« on: December 16, 2011, 08:19:23 pm »
Once again it seems Mistites are the targets of seemingly random dragon attacks around the world over the last few months.

This time again Snowtooth has ventured far from his frozen lands to the north and was seen in the oceans off eastern Mistone by a number of merchant vessels.

The White Dragon landed on a Mistite ship, observers noted, almost sinking it in the process, and took off several minutes later heading north again leaving the badly damaged vessel to limp towards the nearby small port at Frontier Fort in the nation of Brelin.

Before authorities there could intercept and interrogate those aboard the damaged ship it seems they fled the city. Locals on the docks swear the group was led by an important Mistite and also had amongst their ranks the infamous mercenary known as Steel and the notorious bully, Gork.

Rumour Has It / Leringard Mistite Temple damaged
« on: November 25, 2011, 05:12:32 pm »
Odd rumours are circulating about an event in Leringard overnight where it seems at first light the Mistite temple, the huge ship anchored at tthe back of the harbour had just disappeared.

The ship had been anchored in palce for as long as anyone can recall but at first light it was gone with nothing left behind to indicate where it had gone too.

By midday however the massive ship limped back into sight of the harbour and resumed its position albiet with a number of damaged sections. The worst being the front and rear of the ship where heavy hawsers had led down to huge sea anchors beneath the ship on the floor of the bay. These anchors had held the Mistite ship firm in many rough storms.

There were few aboard when the incident occured as many Mistites are curenttly scattered far and wide across the world. However early reports indicate that during the night something had risen beneath the ship and snapped the hawsers, each rope as thick as a mans neck, like they were woolen string then dragged the ship far out to sea leaving it to flounder.

The crew say that during the rest of the night something swam around them in the ocean, something far to big to be a whale, making odd noises and scary sounds that set their teeth on edge and made them fearful for their lives. The only Voice aboard, an elderly Mistite prayed for Mist herself to save them from their predicament.

When morning came either Mist was feeling benevolant or the creature had had enough of its fun and had swam away. From that point the crew had struggled to get the old ship moving again and limping towards Leringard.

In the taverns and bars of Leringard following the stories and jokes about Misites and their current plight with dragonkind around the world were coming thick and fast. Their current plight has made them the but of many jokes and bards are starting to have a field day reciting new poems about their seemingly current situation.

Rumour Has It / Naval manoeuvres by order of Admiral Red Bear
« on: November 19, 2011, 11:58:14 pm »
Within days of the dragon attack on the Shallow Coves region of Liwich the Admiral Red Bear has dispatched no less than eight fully armed scout ships into the oceans off western Dreger.

Also in Lor one of the Blood Circle captains, Lion the Brutal, in his ship, Soulreaper, has left port in a hurry one almost the same day that the eight ships from Hurm were dispatched.

Dock authorities in Lor when questioned indicated he had been ordered to hunt down a rogue Mistite ship that had been in port two days before.

Rumour Has It / The Black Plague Rises
« on: November 17, 2011, 03:55:31 pm »
Not to be outdone it seems by those of his kind around the world a dark figure has once again risen into the sky.

The Black Plague appeared in the skies over Liwich days after Snowtooth appeared in Leringard.

Long term preparations in case this ever happened again swung into action in Hurm and indeed other places around Liwich, ready and able to engage the dragon should it attempt what it attempted so many years before.

But the dark, engimatic dragon instead headed for the coast south of Liwich and attacked several villages known to be strong Mistite Faith bases. His acidid breath and plague discarding powers spreading aweful death amist the communities there before completing a large circle around a heavly prepared Hurm as if taunting them before heading back to his own lair.

In the days that followed the attack Lady Angela of Liwich has declared the area that the dragon attacked, The Shallow coast, off limits until the diseases the dragon left there have run their course.

Rumour Has It / Xora issues a warning to the High Boyer
« on: November 15, 2011, 08:15:21 am »
Urgent messages arrived at the High Boyers residence today from Xora about the fact that she has sighted Fisterion himself circling Molten Island seemingly searching for something. What is unsettling is that there were another three dragons flying with him. Xora was not sure if this boded ill for Boyer but felt the High Boyer should be aware of what she had seen.

The High Boyer, still trying to help his nation recuperate from the war in Belinara, the famines caused by the war in Sederra and the loss of manpower in his nation immediately dispatched additional scout units to the north eastern beaches of his realm in order to remain alert for impending dragon attacks.

Rumour Has It / Snowtooth devastates a Mistite Fleet
« on: November 15, 2011, 08:09:27 am »
Even as news of the dragon attack in Tilmar begins to filter through to many of the civilised lands so too do stories of Snowtooth, Lord of Bastil arising from his hidden ice caves.

Reports indicate that in the shelter of a furious blizzard that swept across Bastil the mighty Snowtooth has descended upon a fleet of Mistite ships drawing close to Bastil's shores.

In a furious battle between what is now known to have included Varsha the Tide of the North East and her allies in the Trade Winds, as well as a powerful Mistite Voice called Dougal, Snowtooth has brought ice, wind and snowy destruction amidst the dozen or so ships.

It is claimed Snowtooth was supported by a great white Drake as well as dozens of smaller drakes as well. Unprepared for the vicious and sudden assault the outcome was almost decided as Snowtooth and the drakes used the storm to give them momentum in their assault.

In his fury Snowtooth physically lifted Tide Varsha's personal ship out of the water completely then fly high out over the ocean and dropped the ship from a great height. its fate is as yet unknown, nor the fate of the Tide herself and her closest followers who were aboard.

Dougals ship also found itself a prime target and even though the Voice tried to flee almost immediately the mighty drake that flew with Snowtooth froze its sails then snapped its masts like kindling leaving it to float helplessly on the dangerous seas near Bastils southern shores.

When Snowtooth returned he too picked up Dougals broken ship then broke it in half and reached inside to seemingly pluck out a person from on board the ship. This women he placed onto his back before reaching in again and plucking a screaming Dougal out and flicking him through the air to the huge Ice Drake. The Ice drake caught Dougal in his jagged toothed beak and crunched him in two gulping down part of the body as another part dropped away and another passing drake snatched it out of the air and gobbled it down. Only then did Snowtooth carry the broken ship until he was over the coast and dropped it onto the rocks below.

This done he left the Drakes to cause as much damage as they could to the remaining ships and the desperately fighting Trade Winds aboard them.

Certainly the Mistites in Leringard seem very nervous about the news from the north.

Rumour Has It / Dragon attack in Tilmar
« on: November 15, 2011, 07:51:30 am »
Reports are spreading via merchants and travellers of a dragon attack in Tilmar.

Soldiers at Fort Morlass in Tilmars eastern coast in Telish lands were thrown into disarray as an enraged deep purple coloured dragon suddenly appeared in the skies above the fort having flown at them straight out of the Redlands.

The beast breathed hellish clouds of gas into the fishing village near the Fort forcing dozens to flee the creatures wrath. Then it set upon the Fort itself tearing blocks from the battlements and casting them out to sea before turning and flying back into the Redlands where it was observed for two or more days circling the desert sands roaring in a combination of anger and frustration before it finally disappeared.

A dozen soldiers were killed and a score more wounded from the creatures attack. The small fishing village was all but destroyed including a ship belonging to one of the Mistite Tides that had been anchored there for more than several weeks. A handful of villagers suffered acid burns from the creatures breathe with four other villagers dead.

The Dragon Storm Campaign / 6 months after Briardusk
« on: October 21, 2011, 11:19:51 pm »
Briardusk, the name remembered well by soldiers of Hurm and those other armies who participated in years of warfare on Hilm soil as the final stage in reclaiming their lands from the hands of the Green Dragon Cult, led by the malefactor known as Molvaren.

It has taken just over 6 months to clear the city of the memory of the Drach ori, the slave pens, their mad leader and all that he enacted their. Dark labs for experiments on slaves and the creation of abominations. Who knows the extents to what was truly done in the dark places beneath the city. Thanks to the Grannoch giants, Rael dwarven engineer squads and so many other groups Briardusk was beginning to rebuild.

Once the fighting was done in Briardusk more legions from The newly established Siphe Principality joined the intial ones and worked with Hilm legions to reestablish the borders of Hilm. Various skirmishes occured along the borders over the months that followed until finally reports began to arrive in Hilm that once more all border posts had been restored and garrisoned.

Immediately plans were put into effect for the next six months to 2 years to provide a massive building program to provide better protections for the border garrisons, to rebuild Sundance and Briardusk and a dozen other communities across Hilm, ruined by the war.

Sir Lance took up his role under Lord Alexander to oversee the rebuilding of Hilm even as they began to sketch out what the liklihood would be of them ever trying to reclaim Kuhl for the Queen.

Many were released from service but their names listed for recall once it was decided if any action would even be possible.

Lord Rael offered a five year placement garrison of 5000 mixed Raelite soldiers at Briardusk and an open offer of more support if and when they deicded to strike at Kuhl. After the other supporters of Hilm heard about Lord Raels offer many also came forward offering other types of support as well.

Thus it remains at the moment, Hilm is rebuilding its strength, rebuilding its broken land. The Principality of Siphe builds a new fortress over the bones of the Fort of Last Hope and people prepare and wait and watch Kuhl to see and wonder what it is Molvaren will plan next.

Rumour Has It / Subtle movement of Mistite followers
« on: September 11, 2011, 08:59:52 am »
Across the world it seems something has stirred up a number of the Mistite Tides and Voices. There seems to be a greater activity amongst them and a number of expeditions into dangerous areas being initiated.

Recently in Leringard an altercation between Mistites on the docks resulted in several people being hurt and ice almost completely filling a building.

The Dragon Storm Campaign / Retaking Hilm
« on: June 24, 2011, 10:28:12 pm »
Within three weeks of Molvarens departure from Hilm thousands line the still rubble strewn streets of Hilm city to watch line after line of soldiers, cavalry, pikes, shields and a various assortment of supplies and auxilery as they wend their way out of the castle and surrounding city and into the lands surrounding them heading south. Their ultimate destination being Briardusk.

At their lead is several hundred mixed cavalry and a shining figure bearing a Toranite standard. Behind Lady Daniella Stormhaven rode a score of hand picked Toranite shock cavalry and then came the various functionaries and army commanders from Hilm as well and so on and so forth. Long lines of rejuvenated and eager soldiers marching to reclaim their lost lands.

The only dark side to mar the leaving of the fifteen thousand strong army was the announcement that the legions of Rael troops will soon be recalled from Hilm unless Lord Rael is invited by the leaders to continue to support the war effort in its new phase.

Sir Lance, Queen Langovale, Lord Alexander and many others watched from the castle walls as the army led by Lady Daniella flowed south along the main road. Sir lance knew that if Rael withdrew it would leave Hilm Castle vulnerable again with many of its soldiers travelling with Lady Daniella to reclaim the lands south of Hilm Castle. He also know he had to work hard to prevent others from deciding their job wsa done and taking their soldiers away as well. The war was far from done yet.

As he stood on the wall Lance looked around the horizon, dark clouds still hung in the air to the north and the south west over the Orsgaunt mountains. While to the north west the sky was dark speckled with black and orange as even from this vast distance the fires and smoke from the erupting volcano's of Molten Isle cast a dark shadow over the entire northern regions of the world.

He worried that soon Boyer would also recall their troops since their country had been affected to a large degree by the fallout of ash and fires sparked by lava balls thrown hundreds of miles from the volcanos of Molten Isle that had truck their northern regions.

Work had arrived that morning that Ractrafiorez had been back to the renmants of Fort of last Hope and that the Jaedon Siphe's Siphe garra had now reached the five or six thousand mark and continued to grow everyday as highly trained man and women of the Drach Garra abandoned their Cult Masters in favour of the former General.

So too word had finally arrived of the Cult defeat at Zolinar and the horror stories that came with them of demons and devils, of the Risen Storan and the complete and utter destruction of Zolinar so that every building, every stone, every blade of grass had been reduced to nothing. Zolinar no longer existed but a barren and scorched area of forest that once housed a bustling and thriving city. Queen Langovale had wept when she heard what had happened and deputations had already been sent to Nesar to protest at what had occured.  Lance worried about Sundance and the Nesar army there doing the same thing but was reassured due to it being under Razeriem and Gork's control for the moment with no Corathites present. he knew one day there would have to be a reckoning for the leaders of the army that assaulted Zolinar, that this man who called himself the Mad Doctor would have to be found and dealt with...and Storan..well, that was a new worry for the future.

As Lance watched the army depart he considered his own departure in two days time. With Rael potentially withdrawing it was not going to give him anywhere near the 20,000 soldiers he was hoping to take to Sundance. In fact he and Lord Alexander had engaged in stern words he day before over just how many Lance would be able to take. Lord Alexander wanted at least ten thousand soldiers left to protect Castle Hilm and the north as well as the supply route to Alhon. That meant Lance could only field five to ten thousand able soldiers to go south. The plans had changed slightly in that he would give Daniella a head start then advance south and bypass the engagement at Briardusk. If Daniella looked like she was going to have problems the advance to Sundance would be given up and lance would join her at Briardusk, but for now he would go to Sundances aid.

As Daniella's large army slowly moved south her scouts spread far and wide. At regular intervals groups made up of about three scores would move off to resecure border posts to the west while other hunting parties ranged to the east towards the Orsgaunt mountains to flush out any remaining pockets of Cult soldiers or wayward Myr'drachs. Eerily however their advance south meet no resistance and within days the army was a hundred miles south of Castle Hilm and not far from the remains of Wallach's crypt.

Here the army settled for several more days while Daniella confirmed through arriving scouts who reported to Jillseponie that their rear was clear, the border posts reinstated and Lances army was on the move. Daniella knew the next week and a half would be unpleasant for the army following her, a journey through the Withered lands was hard enough at the best of times but when you faced the possibility of being attacked by hostile forces as well as the hostile natural creatures that lived there it was going to be unplesant indeed. She knew at some point she would branch off and head to Fort of last Hope while Captain Argali, Captain Vrebel, Captain Kromlek, Captain Gunder, Captain Daniel and others could continue on to Briardusk and settle the army and begin to gather intell on what they faced until she returned, she still worried at every detail and prayed regularly for strength and guidance.

Days later the army packed up and moved into the Withered Lands and within days they met their first resistance. Drach Tesak had set up a myriad of traps and deadfalls throughout different areas and it seemed Drach ori had also set up magical traps as well. Daniella lost a number of soldiers to the deadly traps before slowly the advance and asking some of the more seasoned adventurers to move forward with Jills scouts and support the recovery of the traps. For perhaps the first time in her life she would have liked Lord Arkolio to be present to deal with the traps since he seemed to have a knack for them but then she thought she'd have to put up with his own self aggrandizement for the entire journey. In that moment she was glad he decided his Katherian soldiers and he would stay in Hilm and help with the clean up. Mind you she was a bit concerned about hearing they were looting the bodies as opposed to cleaning them up.

Their movement slowed to a crawl through the ravines and it took more than a week to reach the other side and be within a few days march of Briardusk itself. Here Daniella stopped the army again and prepared to take a small group to the east to hopefully meet and speak with the former Cult General, Jaedon Siphe. It was here she heard some disturbing news. A Toranite patrol had failed to return from a sweep in the Withered Lands. Almost a score of solid dependable Toranites unnacounted for. Daniella waited another day while Ferrit was sent out with Jill to look at the area they were supposed to be and when they returned they reported finding no trace of the patrol.

Concerned but unable to do much about the incident, Daniella gave her Captains their instructions and left with a score of Toranite Cavalry as well as Drexia and Ferrit and set off for the remains of Fort of last Hope.

Rumour Has It / Azattans return
« on: May 31, 2011, 07:19:54 pm »
Across the world in places where Azattans normally gather or have small and dedicated temples they begin to return in dribs and drabs.

The sudden exodus of Azattans from the war against the Cult stunned many as they did an about face and withdrew hundreds of healers and others from the war.

The last known sighting of a large host of them occured near North Fort in Sederra just prior to the ground war there against the Cult. They then disappeared and have not been seen for many months.

Now it appears some are returning but what is noticable is that many are not. When asked about their mysterious disappearance and the missing Azattans the only responses people receive is either stony silence or comments about the coming terror on the surface for them and their kin, and that most likely no one will be safe from the scourge that is now rising.

Rumour Has It / Voltrex Reeling from Eruptions
« on: May 31, 2011, 07:09:22 pm »
More and more of the skies across the world are filled with dust and debris, soot and ash from the numerous volcanos erupting in various parts of the world and the mountains of the Molten Isles spewing much of the great coulds of noxious vapours into the air over Layonara.

Already Priests and servants of Pyrtechon have come forth to claim responsibility for the volcano's claiming it as a sign of the Great Dragon God's impending return to mortal form to blanket the world with fire and chaos.

In the midst of the wars raging in Belinara, the uncertainty of the future of nations who have lost hundreds if not thousands of lives in the war against the Cult and the cold certainty that its not over yet comes this message.

It arrives in Blackford Castle, to Castle Hilm, to most of the civilised nations around the world and purportedly comes from the Aesmil Isim, or the Council of Elves on the nation of Voltrex.

"Relevant introductions....

Let it be known, that in a historic sitting of the Aesmil Isim, under guidance of the Iselian and witnessed by the Speakers of the Five Towers. By Isim Eliwanilae or in your terms, unanimous decree, we have declared a state of emergency within Voltrex.

Any and all attempts by those outside our realm to return or gain entry to our lands is now expressly forbidden pending future deliberations of the Aesmil Isim and determinations of the threats to our lands and those of our people.

A state of natural unrest has destroyed much of the forests to the north and upheavals have created a new landmass of cooling magma. A land of black jagged stone, fiery pits of lava and unstable earth.

The people of Voltrex will brook no interference as we try to recover and determine the extent of the damage and loss of life over the next few years.

We ask that all nations of this world respect our wishes in this matter."

Rumour Has It / Rumblings and fire
« on: May 18, 2011, 11:07:17 am »
While the war grinds on on Belinara throwing the entire continent into chaos the mountains of Molten Isle rumble and start to spew forth dark ash into the sky even more so than usual creating a thick cloud that is slowly moved westwards by the northern wind currents. Huge jagged streaks of lightning that are common place over the many active volcano's of the island ripple across the skies in the dust cloud that is forming and before long long trails of fiery balls of rock start to spew forth from several of the main peaks some of them reaching the far out on the waters around the island.

Before long the dust clouds from the isle drift over the coasts of Boyer covering the beachs, villages and lands with a fine layer of ash and soot.

So too within the Orsgaunt mountains, from two of the tallest peaks, one of which lies close to the Fort of Last Hope there is a deep rumbling. Just after Connor departs from the fort after having summoned the creatures that attacked the enemy seige engines defenders in the fort hear loud cracking sounds from the mountains and scouts report a number of avalanches and dark smoke and ash rising from at least two of the peaks. Soon a think sprinking of ash and soot begins to drift down over the fort and the battles being fought within creating yet more worries for the defenders.

In the south within the Splintered mountains more rumblings occur and again here one of the peaks throws soot and ash high into the air that drifts over Belinara soon reaching Sundance and covering the lands in soot and ash.

So too those near Mount Thul feel a trembling in the earth and notice that on the eastern side of Mount Thul a fine trail of ash and soot starts to rise into the sky.

The Dragon Storm Campaign / Nesar-Kuhl
« on: April 25, 2011, 07:21:58 pm »
// 2 days after Razeriem and Hardragh capture Prim

"Go ahead and find out why our *curse* army is not moving" The Mad Doctor raged while seated on a wagon in the column of soldiers marching towards Vilsna. The combined Nesar armies had crossed into Kuhl and had made fairly good time along the main road from Nith to Vilsna over the last few days.

Alandric had graciously allowed General Zan Rimous to take his armies first since they would have to branch off to skirt around Vilsna and head to Amaria leaving Alandrics forces clear to assault the large town of Vilsna. But now, not even halfway to Vilnsa the long columns had slowed and now stopped with no word from the General as to why. Alandric was in a foul mood anyway and this just added fuel to the fire.

One Eye rode his tall black warhorse along the lines where tired soldiers took the moment to sit down or rest from the toiling march. Men and women flinched away from the sight of him as he thundered past.

Eventually he reached the forward units and the Generals party.

"The Doctor wants to know whats going on General, he is not pleased with this delay."

The General turned his mount to look at the large Raven then averted his gaze.

"We have Cult soldiers ahead, they have formed defensive lines across the road and into the rought terrain on either side. I've sent out scouts to assess how many lie in our path."

The Raven's horse shifted under him as he spoke, "You have soldiers, send them in and you will soon find out how many Cultists lie ahead."

The General licked his lips nervously and angry mutters could be heard from several of those in his party.

"Of course that will reveal those immediately before us but it would be a waste of life and will most likely not tell us if the enemy has other surprises for us further back that we cannot see."

"It is not a waste of life, those that fall can be used again."

More angry mutters and the general developed a sheen of sweat upon his brow.

"Yes, yes of course, how foolish of me to forget that. It is indeed lucky for us that the Doctor is present that we have the benefit of such powerful magics. I humbly ask for one more hour for my scouts to return, if they do not then I shall do as you request."

Jehorum's horse shuffled back and forth and he seemed to consider the words.

"Very well, one hour then you assault their positions," a pause, "and you will personally lead the assault." He wheeled his mount around and raced back down the lines leaving the General and his staff angry and afraid at the same time.

An hour later, as ordered General Zan Rimous led his army into the enemy positions on the road to Vilsna, and lived to talk about it later although many of his men didnt.

They reached the barricades and threw themselves onto them trying to breach them and drive a hole in their ranks to send cavalry in and around them to cut them off. They managed to do so before a small group of four Myr'drachs appeared and cut into their ranks decimating them within minutes. By this stage Alandrics forces had reached a position where they could watch the battle.

He ordered them to hold their positions and even chuckled a few times at the scene of carnage before him. Eventually however he signalled to Adder, Gimli and Eyebite to lead their Corathite soldiers into the fray.

"Clear this mess up for the general will you, otherwise we'll be here all day."

Hours later the armies had formed up and were marching past the broken enemy lines. Dozens of small trees had been cut into posts and staked up around the area and numerous cult bodies hung from them for the crows to feed on.

Alandric glanced behind him as they moved forward once again and commented to Jehorum who road his horse beside the wagon.

"Good days work One-Eye, the enemy are all dead of fled and our army swells with soldiers more biddable and less fickle than before."

Jehorum grunted in agreement and glanced behind the wagon where dozens of undead Cult and Nesar soldiers shuffled along behind them. Around them dozens of Corathite priests kept them in line and moving forward. Behind them a wide space had opened up between the undead and the first groups of Nesar infantry. Fear in their eyes as they stared at the horror that walked before them, some of them had been friends the day before, some enemies, and now they were undead.

The march to Vilsna continued.

The Dragon Storm Campaign / Nesar-Hilm
« on: April 24, 2011, 09:10:23 pm »
// This takes place the day that Ractrafiorez breaks the southern wall of Fort of Last Hope.

"What do you think?" Razeriem frowned as he passed the looking glass back to Hardragh.

Hardragh took a look, scanning the areas of the town visible from the small farmhouse they had moved up into to get a better look at what lay ahead.

"I can't see much, a few towns folk moving around. Wait, there they are. Looks like some Cult regulars walking around the town, probably a patrol. We could send in some of the peasant enlistments, they can probably blend better and maybe speak to a few of the locals and find out what numbers we have to deal with."

Razeriem took the eyeglass back and looked once again. Slowly a smile spread across his face.

Hardragh grinned, "Or maybe not."

Razeriem snapped the looking glass shut, "Nothing like a brisk attack against unknown odds."

The two men withdrew from the house to where their horses and a half a dozen guards waited for them. Razeriem spoke to three of them.

"Herrin, go back to Sergeant Alkis tell him to bring his peasant regulars marching up the main road straight towards Prim. Make as much noise as you can, wave the banners around, whatever it takes. But loud."

"Loyd, you ride over to Lieutenant Jarnon and get him to take the cavalry round to the southern side of the city into those trees over there and wait for my signal. Then he is to charge into the town from that side."

"Jayk, I want you to tell Corporal Hayden to break the remaining infantry into units of forty men and march them in formations across the fields towards Prim behind the peasant enlistments."

The three men saluted casually, since Razeriem was not the type for many of the typical military accoutrements.

"So what are we doing?" Hardragh asked.

Razeriem gave him a cheeky grin, "We? We're going to go and knock on the door."

Together, followed by the remaining four guards their small group allowed their horses to walk forward along the main road to the city. As they drew closer they could see small guard posts set at many of the street entrances to the city with figures moving about in them.

As they drew even closer, to within a hundred metres of the first guard post a loud din began to arise down the road further back. Razeriem glanced behind him to see the several hundred peasants of his thousand strong army marching in columns, banners held high, voices yelling at the top of their lungs. Furthern back spread out in ten groups and advancing across the fields and dishevelled farms in outlying Prim came his Nesar regular infantrymen. He also trusted that the small cavalry force was now moving into position amongst the trees.

The noise of the peasants stirred Prim into action. The few townsfolk on the streets fled into their homes and suddenly Drachs and Cult regulars began rushing around to take their positions to defend the large town. One man, a tall Drach stepped forward commanding them to stop about 30 metres from the Cult lines into the town.

"This is a city of Kuhl, you are not welcome here, turn your army around and leave or we will slaughter you all."

Razeriem stepped down from his horse and walked towards the man hands out to show he held no weapon. The Drach appeared confident in his own abilities and only told Raz to halt when he was several feet from him.

With a flourish Raz bowed to the man and gave him his most winning smile.

"My good man, I'm simply here to rescue many damsels in distress. I was well informed that you people might know where I can find some."

The Drach looked momentarily off guard then resumed his tough stance.
"My commands stand, you will not have this town. It belongs to Kuhl. leave or die."

"My good man, I'm afraid we can't do that." His voice took on a harder tone. "You see I will rescue those damsels with or without your help. I really dont care if you die here I'm sure by the time I finish with your men at least one of them will give me what I want."

"Why you.." The Drach drew a large blade and moved to strike Raz down then stumbled and glanced down in suprise as the tip of Raz's rapier, pushed through his boiled leather armour and penetrated his heart with deadly speed and accuracy.

The area exploded into movement as Hardragh shouted a warning then leapt off his own saddle to face a group of crossbowers levelling their bows at Razeriem. His voice burst forth and the entire group fell to the ground blood pouring from their eyes and ears, their nose and mouths. Each one of them dead.

One of Raz's guards suddenly sounded a loud horn and the attack began.

The peasants started to run towards the city, the infantry jogged in formations towards it as well. More and more drach soldiers converged on the western edge of the town to face the incoming Nesar soldiers and as they did so the Cavalry swept in from the south driving up the narrower southern road and overrunning the cult positions, trampling the soldiers into the ground with the hooves of their warhorses and driving towards the heart of the town.

Razeriem and Hardragh lashed out with magic, voice and blades as they cut their way through the forward defences of the Cult. It seemed that the Cult had left merely a holding force at the town, a handful of Drachs and a larger handful of general Kuhl soldiers. By the time the peasant army reached the entrance to the town they fell upon those wounded or had somehow managed to escape Hardragh and Raz's dramatic advance.

Soon the infantry hit the western edge of the town, groups of forty men and women advancing through every street, encountering fleeing Cult soldiers here and there and other pockets of resistance.

The Cavalry narrowed their columns into the town and pushed to wards the main square. Driving smaller elements of the Cult forces before them and crushing those who fell in the street.

Within an hour Hardragh and Razeriem stood in the centre square of the large town. The cavalry were arrayed around the southern edge of the courtyard and infantrymen stood guard over two hundred Kuhl soldiers who had surrendered while the peasant enlisted folk began going door to door to let the townsfolk know they were safe.

Soon after Razeriem met with the Mayor of the town and learn't the news that every women and girl child in the town had been taken north soon after the Cult had captured the town.

The only good news was that a dozen women and children had been able to be kept hidden during the occupation.

As their men secured each part of the city and hunted for any remaining cult soldiers Razeriem and Hardragh interrogated several of the prisoners before making plans for their next move.  (PM sent)

// As PC's leave Fort of last Hope to help the incoming vital wagon train...

In the Cathedral of Westerngate and almost simultaneously in the Citadel of Toran in Huanjyn arguably the two most powerful religious figures in the world address packed congregations. The contents of their speeches imply some measure of discussion between the two men in a secret capacity.

The Golden Voice of Rofirein, Barvanth Hirumun III and the Auscultare of Toran, Loran Kor both speak plainly to their audiences of the threat the Cult poses against the world.

In their speeches they declare that any god loving faithful should try and assist the war in whatever capacity they can manage.

In Huanjyn the Auscultare declares that any and all able bodied servants of Toran in the city, barring those necessary to maintain the good working order of the Citadel and city will form contingents of soldiers that will travel to Hilm and join in the efforts there to face the threat Molvaren poses.

In Westerngate the Holy Voice declares much the same, except here the Dominus of Dragonsong who attended the session stood in unison with the Golden Voice declaring that several more divisions of the Dragonsong elite will join the Rofireinites in their march to glory in Hilm.

In both cities after the sudden declarations hundreds of merchants and trading companies have begun vying for a chance to aid the forces going to Hilm with ships, supplies and whatever else was necessary. The sense of community spirit in both locations burgeoned by the inspiration of its religious and national leaders.

Within days thousands of Soldiers, knights, archers, mages, clerics and assorted support staff are piling onto hastily formed fleets of various crafts. Anything and everything that can float is fielded in order to get the armies to Hilm as fast as possible.

Queen Maillard and her entourage are examining the newly repaired docks after the battles months before to liberate the Corathite Temple in the city when a messenger races up to them, prostrating himself on the ground and holding aloft a sealed envelope.

A guard grabs the message and cracks the seal inspecting the contents breifly before passing it to her.

Her face frowns as she reads it then reddens in anger. her voice explodes loudly for all to hear nearby.

"How Dare they! The Self-serving Fools!." She turns to the Captain of her Guard.

"To the Temple, Immediately. I must speak with the Sanctis urgently. This cannot be, the Black Wizards have gone too far this time, we must act."

The entourage about face quickly and hurry to keep pace with the angry monarch as she storms towards the Corathite Temple.
