The Dragon Storm Campaign / Hilm's response on the Principality
« on: June 08, 2012, 05:51:00 am »
In Hilm Castle life goes on for all those in the sprawing urban city that surrounds the mighty battlements of the Castle. Once a bastion of good against demon forces in a land beset by demons, now a political stone around which much of Belinara is chained to,

At the centre of that political hub Lord Alexander, and his right hand man Sir Lance Stargazer struggle on a daily basis to provide stability to the oft troubled region.

Even now almost a year after the fall of Brairdust and the defeat of Molvaren outside of Castle Hilm large half empty camps set up for the war to house allied forces still remain on the chance that the war might continue. Nations that havent gotten around to withdrawing their forces or simply havent enough money to withdraw them and instead have left them to feed off the supplies of Hilm.

For the people, apart from the building campaigns around the city to restore damaged sections of the castle and city beyond life has almost returned to a sense of normality. The belief that Hilm still has a war to fight against Kuhl almost a forgotten thing.

Changes in the political landscape forced on Hilm by the obtaining of a section of Hilm by Lord Jaedon Siphe have taken priority with Lord Alexander and Sir Lance eager to shore up Siphes loyalties to them.

As such, even as a fully equipped horde of Fire Giants move through Siphe Castle carrying mysterious glowing blocks of stone Hilm's next move is underway.

Through a side gate in the southern wall of the Castle proper, which bypasses the city streets, a column of Hilm cavalry dotted with Toranites and Rofireinites thunders towards the southern road. The heavy escort being for several dignatories on route to the Siphe principality. The primary banners at the front of the column of two score cavalry are those of Hilm, Toran, Rofirein and the House of Kalgarl. A prominant house in Hilm with close ties to the leadership. At the front of the column one of the dignatories is recognised as Lord Hrathan Kalgarl himself. He is accompanied by his daughter, who, in her late 20's, has served loyally in the Hilm military for the last six years and even participated in the defence of Hilm Castle fighting in the Fifth Northside regulars.

Locals pause in their daily routines to give the column mild interest as he quickly leaves the surrounds of Castle Hilm and begins to make its way south.

Atop the battlement itself Lord Alexander and Sir Lance stand watching the column head south.

The Dragon Storm Campaign / A situation arises...
« on: April 17, 2012, 08:30:09 am »
Alarm bells were sounded in Fiorez City and Siphe Castle prompting the formation of two battle groups within an hour that set off for the north western frontier of the fledgling nation when it was reported a column of soldiers was approaching from that direction.

Leading the battle groups were the Sovereign Lord Jaedon Siphe himself accompanied by a now familiar figure in the region, Commander Daniella Stormhaven.

It is reported that by the time they reached the border the column of soldiers had halted outside the territory and set up a white flag of truce.

It seems that Sir Lance Stargazer had been ordered to lead a deputation to the Principality to speak personally with Lord Siphe on matters most urgent.

Sir Lance's four score strong escort was made up of elite Hilmite Cavalry and a score of Toranite Cavalry still serving in Hilm.

The situation was described as tense as Sir lance met Commander Daniella cordially and asked to speak with Jaedon Siphe alone, a request which was granted.

A large pavilion was then set up into which the two well known figures entered. it is believed discussions on various matters are now taking place within, their content as yet unkown to those beyond the pavilions walls.

Mind you this has done nothing to stop the speculations and suggestions that the Queen of Nesar has appointed a bride to be for the former Kuhl General in order to secure his position and that of his nation with Nesars support. Others wonder if a leading Toranite figure such as Sir Lance would be the bearer of tidings from s nation such as Nesar with their particular background.

Rumour Has It / Castle Mask
« on: April 03, 2012, 01:28:29 am »
Authorities in Castle Mask have been forced to take action and send a small force of standing soldiery to several outlying hamlets at the eastern edge of their jurisdiction after a brazen group of bandits have raided the homesteads.

The bandits murdered several farmhands and raided what little foodstocks and livestock the farms had before raising them to the ground. Displaced families have been forced to move to farmlets closer to the Castle for added protection.

At the same time authorities have announced that foodstock within the Castle and surrounding villages are running low and a request has already been sent to Golden and to Lor to provide assistance.

CNR Suggestions/Discussion / Enchanted ingots
« on: April 02, 2012, 06:50:40 pm »
Apart from being useless in game they are also apparently completely worthless.

It seems odd that a standard iron ingot might fetch 80 true from a pawn shop but an enchanted one will cost 1gp?

At least make it 1gp more than the ingots original cost?

Rumour Has It / Bounty Hunter
« on: March 30, 2012, 06:40:28 pm »
Leisa enters the One Eyed Harpy in Fort Vehl nodding to Wheezer as she moves to a table from where she can watch the door to the place.

Several pairs of eyes follow her nondescript form as she sits herself down. Conversations dim nearby as those who recognise her wonder if she is here for them. They know her line and work and many are aware she will do whatever she is hired to do making her a dangerous one to have following you.

Several minutes later its apparent she isnt there for anyone in the Inn and conversations resume, eyes still glance occassionally towards the well known Bounty Hunter perhaps trying to read something, anything, from her emotionless face and cold eyes, perhaps trying to deduce the intention of her sudden appearance in Vehl after months of absence.

Half an hour later a thin almost emaciated man enters the Inn as well, many take note of the stranger to the One Eyed Harpy. He looks around and quickly sits opposite Leisa. They converse quietly for a while before he passes a leather satchel across the table to her, stands and leaves.

Leisa continues to sit at her table for a short time longer before standing and methodically collecting her things. The hilt of two fine shortswords appear momentarily from under a dark cloak she wears.

Several sets of eyes follow her as she leaves and as she does one of the people who was seated closest to her whispers to his friend at his table.

"What's she got to do with the Mad Doctor? I thought he was a myth?"

His companion, a rugged dock worker merely shrugged and they returned to their previous conversation.

Rumour Has It / Questions about the Rift
« on: February 19, 2012, 05:15:07 am »
A number of people are beginning to ask questions about goings on in the Rift near Dalanthar over the last year and a half with several expeditions being led by the famous Sir Storold into its dark depths.

The last expedition left Dalanthar some months ago and never returned. In fact Sir Storold and all those who travelled with him, highly accomplished leaders in their fields have not been seen since.

General Discussion / Dezza made a booboo - Storolds CDQ
« on: February 12, 2012, 04:23:24 am »
Much, much, much apologies to those who showed up for Storolds CDQ as listed on the calendar.

Unfortunately Dezza had a moment of dementia and read the time as 8.30pm instead of the 8.30am he originally said he would run it.

I am trying to distance myself from the booboo by talking about myself as if it was someone elses fault. :)

Sadly though it wasnt, it was all my fault!

Worst thing is I logged in at the 8.30pm slot and spent over an hour setting up too!

Sorry everyone!

Rumour Has It / Mistites in Leringard
« on: January 09, 2012, 04:39:34 am »
After the turbulance of the last few months that has struck the Mistite faith around the world there appears to be signs that some sort of accommodation has been reached with the dragons that had been attacking the order.

A new Tide of the north has been announced to replace the former woman called Yashilla who had held the position for many years through guile and strength.

Newly appointed, Tide Hardragh set sail from Leringard for Molten isle before returning a few months later with Tide Murray who had been held there by the Pyrtechonites.

The Tempest and several other Tides were present in Leringard as Tide Hardragh's ship and Tide Murray's ship both docked safely.

Observers could plainly see the Tempests welcome of Tide Hardragh was cold but Tide Murray was warmly received. Tide Cassandra was also on hand to offer her congratulations to the new Tide Hardragh in his success of rescuing Tide Murray.

The return culminated in a celebration aboard the Mistites ship in the harbour.

In the days that follow is seems there will be a proper accounting of the losses the Mistites have suffered over the last 18 months and how they plan to hold onto what they have left and to rebuild what they have lost.

There are some talking already that perhaps the Misites have reached their peak and their decline is now imminent...

Rumour Has It / Lord Raels message
« on: December 25, 2011, 05:53:17 pm »
On the anniversary of the Great Fires of Prantz from during the early days of the Sederra Kuhl war Lord Rael has appeared to give a speech during the celebrations.

In a suprisingly lengthy speech the self titled benevolant leader spoke to a huge crowd in the city's main square.

During his speech Lord Rael outlined several key points:

1/ He reaffirmed the alliance and the gratitude his nation has for the continued presence of the Rofireinites and their lawful ways. He affirmed the continuing acceptance of them by the Sulterians.

2/ He thanked the people of his nation for being stalwart and supportive during the long years of trouble during the wars. Both the Dark Elven invasion and the Kuhl-Sederra conflict and including the ongoing battle in Hilm.

3/ He once again extended an invitation to Castle Mask and Lor to rejoin with the greater nation for their better security and to share in the rising abundance that the Raelites are enjoying.

4/ He announced that every man women and child in Rael would soon receive a document that grants them full citizenship within the nation and every year forth they can present their document and receive a refund of 10% of the taxes they paid that year. Failure to produce the document of course means no refund. Holders of the document will have greater benefits within Rael.

5/ As part of the new Rael Citizenship benefit scheme Lord Rael has ordered a census of the people to be held in two months time where every person living in Rael must return to their home town to register themselves and their families.

6/ Finally, he announced that Rael would lend Sedera half a million true in order to help support the rebuilding process.

Rumour Has It / Shindalerians strike
« on: December 18, 2011, 08:19:52 am »
It seems no matter which way they turn the Mistites are suffering.

The latest loss comes off the coast of western Mistone with an attack on a Mistite vessel by Shindalerians. The Mistite vessel was badly damaged and many aboard killed before the Shindalerians retreated.

The vessel limped into Port Hempstead suffering heavy damage.

Rumour Has It / Snowtooth strikes again
« on: December 18, 2011, 08:17:29 am »
Snowtooth has been very active in the last 12 months, this time he has appeared in Leringard again on the docks and smashed his way into the Mistite Movement buildings tearing off the roof of the main building to do so and doing a great deal of damage.

Luckily this time no one seems to have been injured, but residents of the city are now grumbling and talking about making the Mistites pack up and leave the city for the city's citizens own safety.

Rumour Has It / Last arrival in Stort for the Ravens
« on: December 17, 2011, 03:51:25 pm »
It has been a long time coming but finally the full compliment of ships ordered by the Raven Trade Guild have arrived in Stort ready for duty.

A large number of the famous Morningstar vessels, Hurms speciality, one of the newer merchant class vessels now starting to appear on the worlds oceans.

Several scout ships famous for their work around Dreger. Their speed and shallow draft enabling them to move quickly and into waters larger ships cannot tread.

A single odd shaped merchant vessel common to the nations in the Rohden Alliance but able to carry large amounts of cargo easily.

And the pride of the fleet, a huge Starphire class ship build to specific details secretly in one of the finest Driran shipyards.

The Guild have waited for years for the full order to be delivered the longest to deliver being the large Starphire ship. Observers have noted that as the ship moves through the water one would swear the hull beneath the water gleams for some strange reason.

Nevertheless many members of the Ravens Guild were present when the last ship for their fleet was finally delivered. A proud day for all and the beginning of a dominant era in mercantile sea trade for the Ravens Guild.

Rumour Has It / Dragon Strike
« on: December 16, 2011, 08:19:23 pm »
Once again it seems Mistites are the targets of seemingly random dragon attacks around the world over the last few months.

This time again Snowtooth has ventured far from his frozen lands to the north and was seen in the oceans off eastern Mistone by a number of merchant vessels.

The White Dragon landed on a Mistite ship, observers noted, almost sinking it in the process, and took off several minutes later heading north again leaving the badly damaged vessel to limp towards the nearby small port at Frontier Fort in the nation of Brelin.

Before authorities there could intercept and interrogate those aboard the damaged ship it seems they fled the city. Locals on the docks swear the group was led by an important Mistite and also had amongst their ranks the infamous mercenary known as Steel and the notorious bully, Gork.

Rumour Has It / Leringard Mistite Temple damaged
« on: November 25, 2011, 05:12:32 pm »
Odd rumours are circulating about an event in Leringard overnight where it seems at first light the Mistite temple, the huge ship anchored at tthe back of the harbour had just disappeared.

The ship had been anchored in palce for as long as anyone can recall but at first light it was gone with nothing left behind to indicate where it had gone too.

By midday however the massive ship limped back into sight of the harbour and resumed its position albiet with a number of damaged sections. The worst being the front and rear of the ship where heavy hawsers had led down to huge sea anchors beneath the ship on the floor of the bay. These anchors had held the Mistite ship firm in many rough storms.

There were few aboard when the incident occured as many Mistites are curenttly scattered far and wide across the world. However early reports indicate that during the night something had risen beneath the ship and snapped the hawsers, each rope as thick as a mans neck, like they were woolen string then dragged the ship far out to sea leaving it to flounder.

The crew say that during the rest of the night something swam around them in the ocean, something far to big to be a whale, making odd noises and scary sounds that set their teeth on edge and made them fearful for their lives. The only Voice aboard, an elderly Mistite prayed for Mist herself to save them from their predicament.

When morning came either Mist was feeling benevolant or the creature had had enough of its fun and had swam away. From that point the crew had struggled to get the old ship moving again and limping towards Leringard.

In the taverns and bars of Leringard following the stories and jokes about Misites and their current plight with dragonkind around the world were coming thick and fast. Their current plight has made them the but of many jokes and bards are starting to have a field day reciting new poems about their seemingly current situation.

Rumour Has It / Naval manoeuvres by order of Admiral Red Bear
« on: November 19, 2011, 11:58:14 pm »
Within days of the dragon attack on the Shallow Coves region of Liwich the Admiral Red Bear has dispatched no less than eight fully armed scout ships into the oceans off western Dreger.

Also in Lor one of the Blood Circle captains, Lion the Brutal, in his ship, Soulreaper, has left port in a hurry one almost the same day that the eight ships from Hurm were dispatched.

Dock authorities in Lor when questioned indicated he had been ordered to hunt down a rogue Mistite ship that had been in port two days before.

Rumour Has It / Liwich issues a decree
« on: November 19, 2011, 11:53:15 pm »
*Lady Angela of Liwich has followed up her ban on entering the Shallow Coves area of Liwich where the Black Plague destroyed with another one.*

"Until further notice, Sir Storold has been given full rights and authority over any and all activities in the Shallow Cove region of Liwich. All citizens and persons of authority in Liwich are to offer him any and all support as required or not."

Rumour Has It / Ractrafiorez strikes
« on: November 18, 2011, 10:17:01 pm »
In the newly established Principality of Siphe on the former site of the Fort of Last Hope inhabitants have been witness to a vicious attack by the great dragon Ractrafiorez.

It seems an adventuring expedition of Mistites were passing close to the Principality in Hilm when a smallish grey dragon set upon them, appearing seemingly from a cave somewhere in the roughlands.

Within an hour the mighty form of Ractrafiorez, still sporting numerous still healing burn scars from his former attack on the Drach ori defences of Briardusk acted to protect what he considers his territory striking hard and fast at the dragon as it played hide and seek with the rapidly diminishing Mistite group below.

Ractrafiorez wasted no time in tearing the much smaller dragon to pieces then took the time to eliminate the rest of the Mistites for good measure before returning to his mountain domain in the Orsgaunt Mountains.

Rumour Has It / The Black Plague Rises
« on: November 17, 2011, 03:55:31 pm »
Not to be outdone it seems by those of his kind around the world a dark figure has once again risen into the sky.

The Black Plague appeared in the skies over Liwich days after Snowtooth appeared in Leringard.

Long term preparations in case this ever happened again swung into action in Hurm and indeed other places around Liwich, ready and able to engage the dragon should it attempt what it attempted so many years before.

But the dark, engimatic dragon instead headed for the coast south of Liwich and attacked several villages known to be strong Mistite Faith bases. His acidid breath and plague discarding powers spreading aweful death amist the communities there before completing a large circle around a heavly prepared Hurm as if taunting them before heading back to his own lair.

In the days that followed the attack Lady Angela of Liwich has declared the area that the dragon attacked, The Shallow coast, off limits until the diseases the dragon left there have run their course.

Rumour Has It / Xora issues a warning to the High Boyer
« on: November 15, 2011, 08:15:21 am »
Urgent messages arrived at the High Boyers residence today from Xora about the fact that she has sighted Fisterion himself circling Molten Island seemingly searching for something. What is unsettling is that there were another three dragons flying with him. Xora was not sure if this boded ill for Boyer but felt the High Boyer should be aware of what she had seen.

The High Boyer, still trying to help his nation recuperate from the war in Belinara, the famines caused by the war in Sederra and the loss of manpower in his nation immediately dispatched additional scout units to the north eastern beaches of his realm in order to remain alert for impending dragon attacks.
