Kobal ventured there on his own for the first time since the place was updated some months ago, and nearly got stabbed to death by werewolves, almost got eaten by icespiders and was very close to being exterminated by the magics of some very hostile walking cows (i.e. minotaurs).

So, if you would be so kind to come along for a trip (bringing your buffs and deathwards!) the dwarf would be very much obliged. :)

Kobal willl try to be online from around 3pm GMT (which is in approximately 4 hours). He'll be in the Thunder Peaks, north of the crossway, cuddling the yetis that hang out there. ;)

The Dragon Storm Campaign / // Update!
« on: March 09, 2010, 06:32:45 am »
Hi guys,

As some of you may have noticed, I haven't been around much for some time. The reason for this is that I am relocating to Mumbai in India together with my family. My company offered me an exciting position in our Mumbai office and we have decided to take them up on the offer.

I just arrived here a little more than a week ago and am currently coming up and running on the job as well as finding an apartment and getting to know the place (whoa - its a lot different from Denmark!). I've started out solo, until I have a place for us, and am going back to fetch my family in April.

Yesterday I moved into an apartment that has a 256Kbit/sec connection, so needless to say I am somewhat restricted internet-wise. Nevertheless I intend to try to get online sooner or later and hopefully I can at least play a little.
Plot-wise this means that I will continue the mini-series that I started - and hopefully soon. I will give you a heads up on that as soon as I've found out whether I can GM or not with my current internet connection.

I hope that Steel and his homies are currently recruiting for the next quest episode... they better be! ;)

Over and out for now. I'll keep you updated.

Cheers, Harlas

The Dragon Storm Campaign / Two upcoming mini-questseries
« on: January 12, 2010, 02:10:43 pm »
Hi guys,

I have two series of quests planned that are highly involved in the world plot, the Dragon Storm Campaign. Each quest series should not stretch for more than 3-4 sessions max. The timezone will be primarily GMT friendly, but I am willing to work with one of the two groups with regards to involving weekends.

One was initiated by a player (Miltonyorkcastle) and begins on Monday (if it suits him and those that tag along). It is much dependant on player choices and actions, so once we get to it there may be a quest and there may not be. It depends on the players involved. ;) To participate here you need to contact Steel in game (forum name: Miltonyorkcastle) or be contacted by him. If you don't your character will not know that anything is taking place. This quest has the possibility to involve actions/choices that may not suit your character. It is perfectly acceptable to walk away, even though it is a plot quest.

Another series is soon to begin and is aimed at characters that are involved with the nature faction (druids, rangers and clerics/priests of appropriate deities), at least to begin with. I imagine that it will be opened up after the first or second quest session. These quests are mainly aimed at lower level characters.

I hope to see you out there! :)

Rumour Has It / Increased activity and watchfulness in Trelania
« on: September 08, 2009, 02:14:52 pm »
As you travel across the public roads of the Kingdom of Trelania, you notice that the number of patrols on horseback has increased dramatically. Heavily armed men and women race along the roads, seemingly on the lookout for something or someone.

While out on sea on the voyage from Leringard to Port Hempstead, some passengers report of noticing several light and fast vessels of the Queen's Navy patrolling the coastline of Trelania.

The Dragon Storm Campaign / A rumour from the Hammerbound Peaks
« on: September 04, 2009, 06:35:06 am »
Traders returning from the small mountain community of Lyn speak of encounters with the so called Dragonstealers. It is said that dwarven patrols have come upon small groups of armed warriors on their way south.

The man who relays the rumour to you, seems agitated and a little afraid.

"I mean - how can we go anywhere these days? Where are the Queen's Guard when you need them, huh? Probably honing their pigstickers and polishing helmets. Anyhow, those dragonstealers meant business I tell you. They attacked as soon as those poor dwarves ran into them. Fully half of them were dead when they returned to Lyn in the morning. And it seems that they only felled two out of the five they ran into.

I ask you, when the hammers of Lyn fall short, who is to stand up to these monsters? I mean, how crazy are you to even consider meddling with dragons?!"

General Discussion / High level adventuring tonight!
« on: July 26, 2009, 10:52:11 am »
Hi guys,

I am looking for people to adventure with tonight, from around 6pm GMT, most likely somewhere on Belinara. :)

I'll bring on Kobal, so characters should be at least lvl 20 to participate.

Lets meet in Miritix and set out from there... destination depending on how the group is balanced and where people would like to go.

See you there!

Harlas

PS: I've created a calendar event for it. http://forums.layonara.com/calendar.php?do=getinfo&e=12932&day=2009-7-26

The Dragon Storm Campaign / IC thread: The Path of the Claw
« on: July 19, 2009, 05:11:28 pm »
* Fighting the white tiger took it's toll upon the group. Two fell to it's claws and are currently being dragged to a spot where most of you sit for a moment, to catch your breaths and bandage your wounds.

Some of you cannot help but glance to your right, towards the lights that seem to dance before your eyes. Shining and sparkling in all colours they are dazzling to behold. On the bare ground below the lights a black rune has been etched into the rock and coloured black.

Suddenly the momentary peace is disturbed by the heavy steps of newcomers. But instead of comrades that fell victim to the teleportation traps, strangers appear. Six in all, the dark clad strangers enter the chamber with weapons drawn. The group consists of a tall man with a strange mask, two dwarves - a warrior and what must be a spellcaster of some type, a heavily set male warrior, a lightly armored female and a large lizard-like beast walking upright.

They approach you but stop dead at a handsign from the masked man. In a deep and pleasant voice he speaks... *

At last!

Rumour Has It / Two huntsmen found dead near the Haven Mines
« on: June 27, 2009, 11:00:30 am »
Those travelling through Paruin, Haven, Lorax or Hlint and overhear the local gossip, learn that two huntsmen were killed in the Silkwood, just west of the Haven Mines.

The two men did not return home last night and therefore a search party was formed and sent out this very morning. They returned in the afternoon and reported that the two were found dead in their usual hunting grounds. It is said that the site was a mess and that they were cut down by swords or axes.

Most of the local folk blame the gnolls in the nearby mines, while others claim that the gnolls seldom leave their mines and venture into the woods.

The forces of what some have named the Cult of the Green Dragon or the Dragon Stealers have finally arrived at the shores of the Mistone. What is their purpose here, so far from the safety of the newly conquered Kingdom of Kuhl?

Until now they have remained hidden, with only few being aware of their movements. But plans have been set in motion... and once commited, he strides forward with both purpose and determination. For there can be only one!

The Dragon Storm Campaign / Upcoming quest series
« on: June 20, 2009, 04:26:38 pm »
Hello everyone,

I hope you are all doing well and are enjoying the beginning of the summer holiday season.

It is time for new episodes of the current plot, the dragon storm campaign setting. Many of you know about it, but likely even more of you do not. So I ask the knowing of you to share in the upcoming weeks, so that newcomers and those who just weren't able to make previous episodes get a chance to get involved.

Sharpen your pencils, take notes, compare your notes with those of others... the plot has developed a lot since it started. Much info has been passed out - some has been gathered, some has been lost and some has probably been misinterpreted. :)

The upcoming quest series will likely be divided into 3-7 episodes, depending on success and/or failures along the way. Some episodes will be action packed, others will be mostly story-telling, and others will be a mix and have other elements as well. It will get dangerous as the series progresses, but we will not limit the quests to high level characters. All are welcome to join.

I have put tentative dates and times on the calendar. Others will be added by other GMs and I will likely remove some. The quests will be ran by different GMs and we need to coordinate where and when. So I ask you to bare with us, if we move or cancel dates during the next week or two.

More information will be revealed once the plot GM team has coordinated the last bits and pieces.

I hope to see many of you there!

Harlas

Rumour Has It / A public missive from Trelania
« on: February 19, 2009, 11:21:04 am »

Dear citizens of Trelania. It has come to our attention that rumours about an immediate war and an enemy invasion are being passed around on market squares, street corners and backyards. We hereby wish to clarify that no evidence of a direct threat to our Kingdom exists.

It is with a calm and steady hand that I write to you, people of Trelania. My council to you is to remain calm and go about your daily lives as always. There is no need for rash action, nor war mongering. Rest assured, however, that the Queen's Regiment is ever alert and ready, should a threat emerge.

Seize your worries and be at peace.

Rumour Has It / Citizens of our beloved Kingdom of Brelin!
« on: February 19, 2009, 11:20:06 am »

It is with a heavy heart that I inform you that intelligence has reached us about an enemy fleet, sailing for our shores. Have no fear though, dear citizens, for the army has been roused and is preparing to welcome this enemy.

It is in such dire times that we must remember our responsibility to each other and the kingdom that has allowed us to prosper for so many years now. To many the dark ages seem distant and forgotten, but I implore you to remember. For the sake of your selves and your loved ones remember! Never will we visit such upon ourselves again! Therefore we must stand tall and stand together. Only by uniting will we ensure that our beloved Brelin remains as we remember and treasure it.

Lastly, my fellow citizens, I wish to inform you that the army reserve offers the opportunity for part time enlistment. I saddens me to call upon you in this hour, but lives, freedom and peace may be at stake.

Joy Vaeran, Ruler of Brelin

Rumour Has It / A call to kin and all free dwarves on Mistone
« on: February 19, 2009, 11:17:32 am »
I hereby call upon every kinsmen of Clan Ulgrid who resides outside our ancestral halls. News has reached me of foreigners sailing towards our shores. Whether this is true or not remains yet to be seen. I therefore bid dwarves and friends of Clan Ulgrid to send word to the clan, should you know more of this matter.

I do not hesitate, however, to state that strangers trespassing upon our blessed land, bearing arms and arriving with ill intentions, will be dealt with swiftly and decisively.

I ask all sons and daughters of the battlefather to remain vigilant in the days and months ahead of us. Do not doubt your instincts, the teachings of your fathers and your belief in Vorax.

Rumour Has It / Rumour has it that...
« on: December 14, 2008, 07:11:59 am »
... Kobal Bluntaxe was recently seen leaving the Temple of Rofirein in Fort Vehl with all haste, aiming for Port Hempstead.

In Port Hempstead he begins to make discreet inquires to people he knows whether they have heard about an enemy fleet that set out from Arnax, heading east towardst he shores of Mistone. When asked about the 'who' he mentions the dragon stealers, also known as the dragon cult.

Kobal goes about this work quietly and atempts to not reveal this information to anyone he does not trust to be able to treat this information discreetly - i.e. keep it from the ears of the masses.

Time, Kobal states, is in short supply.

I formatted my PC today and need the control hak to be able to run Layonara under NWN. The links on the download page, however, do now work - at least not for me. The text is there, but the cursor does not respond.
