Rumour Has It / World Wide Shockwave!!!
« on: June 10, 2009, 03:57:28 am »
Tunar, Mai 10, 1450

As light creeps above the horizon over the northern hemisphere there begins a trembling deep within the core of Layonara. The reverberation begins as a dull and distant roar which gradually builds into a crescendo of sound that causes all the creatures from near and far to set up a raucous clamour as if in sympathy of the groaning of the earths core. As the ripple of divine power emanates from the depth of Layonara's being the sense of the all pervading denseness of gravity warps your senses and creates a sense of nausea coupled with a wave of disorientation. All around you no matter your location around the globe, the ground trembles, sound reverberates and every living thing vibrates to the core of its being. Slowly, mile by mile, hour by hour the effects travel until the entire being of Layonara has experienced the tremulous sensation.

Then, all is silent once more. The creatures of Layonara continue to call out in startled reverie for some time but those that can sense the earth, that are in tune with nature and manipulate the weaves of Al'Noth that permeate Layonara know that the earth itself is tainted no more, that its life's blood has been returned in a divine event witnessed by all alive across the surface of the world and below.

Words of praise are spoken by the lips of many as well as these two spoken in great reverence; Waazk'ah Lak'han, which means, in the ancient Dwarven tongue, Father Mithril, a name given to the one who restored it to the world and defeated the Balamti threat; Fenrir Thornaxe.

General Discussion / General Note to the Populace
« on: April 11, 2009, 04:10:26 am »
Hey everyone,

I am posting this here as currently I am running Fenrir's WLQD. This particular one is currently having a significant effect on things in the world and I am posting this to ask you to participate in bringing the full sense of whats happening to life.

I often find that with WLQD's they feel like they are taking place almost in another Layonara to the one everyone else plays in from day to day. This come about because normally it is a select group who deal with the WLQD issues at the times they can get together and thus it does not affect everyone else on the server in their day to day activities. So the general populace goes about doing what they do every day they play on Layonara with more than likely a very minor interest in whats happening out there because they are not a part of it.

In reality this is not the case, and I want to ask you, the typical Layonara players to help me build the atmosphere for those working towards Fenrirs WLQD.

How can you help I hear you ask?

First of all you need to be aware of what currently might be affecting your characters so you can include it in your everyday RP or interactions, so lets start there.

1/ Mithril and titanium have always been hard to obtain, now in the market places both metals have begun to dry up, prices are sky rocketing in mithril (please reflect this in prices etc)

2/ Priests of Beryl, Dorand, Grannoch, Sulterio and Grand all are sensing something wrong with the element of Earth in the world. Spells that rely on earth as a component of base source of power are weaker than normal, stoneskin for example wont last as long, earth elementals weaken and die very quickly etc (All can be Rp'ed)

3/ Giants in the Ulgrids have been hardly seen at all, there have been no attacks between the dwarves of the Ulgrids and the giants there for the past two months.

4/ Market places around the world are getting the jitters as mithril deposits used as securities for banks, mercantile guilds and even nations are disappearing.

5/ There is a general unease amongst druidic circles regarding notification they have received from certain faiths regarding the weakening of Earth, particularly within Layonara itself.

6/ Spellguard are now even investigation what they percieve as a serious threat against Layonara itself based within the field of earthen magics. (Rp for members of the faith)

7/ Tremours have been felt in various places across the world and people are beginning to say these are linked to the missing mithril.

If you know this...then you can employ it in your RP and thus help with the immersion of the WLQD for the people directly involved, the general community (whose world is being affected), and really help bring alive whats happening, for everyone.

Thank you.

General Discussion / LORE Firefox Search Plugin
« on: February 11, 2009, 05:08:32 am »
Something for those of you who use Firefox - an extension to the search box in the toolbar that allows you to search the Layonara Online Reference Encyclopedia without even having to navigate to the site!

Just unzip the attached file into (if you installed Firefox into its default location) C:\\Program Files\\Mozilla Firefox\\searchplugins, and restart Firefox, and a LORE searchbox will have been added to the dropdown search engine list.

(A boon to character approvers, character submitters, and anyone who needs a handy LORE reference during a quest!)

Layonara Server / LORE Character Updates
« on: January 29, 2009, 04:23:16 am »
While working on some web server backup maintenance, with the help of orth we made some changes to LORE. The two most notable differences are:

 • Character pages are now updating again
 • The antiquated header logo has been changed

Enjoy!

General Discussion / Completion of House Drawing
« on: January 17, 2009, 08:39:01 pm »
Hi everyone,

Things are mostly okay, at least with me, thanks for those who had concern. I had a friend pop by who needed my full attention regarding some personal issues.

I have several more prizes to give away and I need to change the ownership of the house to Tabris, I'll get to that as soon as I catch my breath a bit.  I may have to continue the rest of the draw tomorrow though, I'm not really in the mood to be Plen right now.

I'll keep you up to date,
orth

Just for Fun / Battle vs Sinthar Text Log
« on: December 31, 2008, 02:20:50 am »
I've had this around for a while and was always a bit hesitant to paste it due to metagaming, but with all the people who know now the story, I don't think it is too much of an issue, so I present you with Sinthar's last moments and the twenty odd minutes signalling the end of the Soul of the Lost Ancient campaign.

" As we descended we came upon the last dwarven tunnel, a hallway that led to a large natural cavern. The hall was rough as though the cutters broke through into the cavern and left their duties of perfecting the path for another time, one that never came. Thus began a descent deeper and deeper, tunnels not dug by hands but burrowed or even eaten from the solid core of the mountain high above us lead from cavern to cavern. No more level rooms were to be found as we went down, further and further into Layonara. The simple clans and beasts from above grew scarce as deeper and fouler beasts, some that have never seen the sun, turned common and our group now trekked slowly and carefully."

---Harolgar, Frostblade  of the White Fox Clan---

About a month or so ago I tendered my resignation to Layonara team. I used to be able to crank out hours upon hours of building on top of playing the game for hours on end. These days I can't really find committed time to fulfill my duties as a full time quest GM on top of growing our little garden of NWN Layonara. I thought about clinging onto the GM seat, I really did. But all I'd end up doing is passing judgement or chiming in my steady opinion from afar without an inkling or grasp of our community. So it's time to call it quits.

When I started off with the relic based entry theme/ system, I built a good chunk of new material. It was closed and locked off waiting for completion both in building and the scripting needed to successfully implement it. Also, older material that had been converted was locked off. Since Dorg finalized 1.69 several weeks ago, I picked up the modules for one last swing and wrapped everything up that I was capable of handling on my own, with a little help on puzzle scripting from ScriptWrecked (thanks script).

The major new addition to the server is the region of the Great Spikes of the Blinding Lands, implemented as closely to Ed's team's new writings on it as I could muster knowing all the potentials of the toolset... of course with ample spins and twists on it to appropriately get an amused growl from Ed. The adventure of these northern realms is pretty neat. It's an older and perhaps simpler vibe, one that I had a lot of fun working on. And the GM who first picks up on the nature of the region and the number of quests to be had here is lucky. All in all around 70 areas that were either locked off or didn't yet exist are now in game and waiting for you. There are also a couple of new quest areas to get things kicking on quests. Beyond that it's the normal fixes here and there, trying to wrap the monster that was too hard here, and the area that needed a bit of love there.

I've had a great time working on this module, and hope you guys liked what came of v3. I'll support fixes for the next couple of weeks to make sure nothing is quirky, and after that I'll still be around playing.

So, I suppose I'll see you in there, and remember - when you find a book, take the time to read it and talk about it. It may save your life.

General Discussion / Thank you!
« on: March 12, 2008, 08:57:32 am »
I want to take a moment to thank all of the people involved in the last three updates over the past two weeks. There has been many long hours (I would be willing to bet at least a thousand) put in to these updates and it is clear their love for the world and community is what keeps them working on updates. The past six months have been extremlly packed with RL happenings, holidays, family issues, and the list goes on and yet these individuals continue to produce updates for the community.

There can not be enough thanks for them but I just want to make sure everybody understands that their selflessness is what continues to make the world a great gaming place that is enjoyed by many around the world.

 In no special order:
Gulnyr, muaddib, Chongo, Eorendil, Darkstorme, Weeblie, Script Wrecked, and Dorganth.

 Thank you and good job!!

I also want to thank everybody on the GM Team, now and in the past. I firmly believe that a major part of what makes Layonara so special is the GM Team and all of the events they run and all of the difficult work they do behind the scenes (online and off) in order to ensure that Layonara remains a RP server at heart. Your efforts do not go unnoticed and it is your attention to the spirit of the server which is what continues to make Layonara loved by many.

Thanks folks, to each and every one of you!

And of course, thank you to the community! What a great RP community.

 You rock!

General Discussion / A Slice of Life
« on: February 26, 2008, 12:12:09 pm »
I've always thought of Layonara as a never ending movie where we the players get to puppeteer the stars, but what does puppeteer really mean? Well, I believe that when one plays a character, regardless of how much effort is put in, we are exhibiting characteristics of our own mind, personality and soul. There is so much depth to every single one of us that is often left completely undiscovered. Some people prefer to not explore themselves and so we only get to witness a sliver of their true self but the ones that do explore are often the ones that pour themselves into their RP and do so over the course of more than one character.

While we all tend to act differently in RL than our characters IG, even in RL we are playing the role of our real lives with real stakes at hand. This is why RL Always Comes First.

While Layonara is Just a Game there is none-the-less a bond that's seeded, nurtured and grown through the life we breathe into our characters. I like to think of this bond being represented by the 10 Soul Strands. When a character is first created, the bond is fresh, new and full. As we explore the world through the shoes of the character we're able to learn about ourselves in ways not available to RL. We are given the opportunity to explore the truth and consequences of our actions in a setting where when it really boils down to it, there's absolutely nothing to loose and everything to gain because it really is Just a Game.

As the strands wilt over time [be it short or long] we are all hit personally with that pang in the chest and burning of the heart. We are tangibly loosing a slice of that bond between our heart and our alternate self; the character. Having that bond broken by a permanent death will inevitably impact the RL self to some degree. Sometimes the break can be so extreme as to bring one to the point of rejecting the mere thought of allowing one's self to grow another bond. This is natural, we are only human and our hearts can bleed in more ways than one.

However, we must always remember that with each and every permanent death; a void is born in the world and a new chapter in the history of Layonara is waiting to be opened. Regardless of how big or small the chapter is, there is a new slice of your self just waiting to be given the chance to see the first light of a new Layonaran day. Rejoice in the accomplishments of the past slices, learn from their mistakes... where there was an avenue blocked from your exploration due to alignment or other RP restrictions, perhaps now that avenue can be explored through a new slice of life in Layonara.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with maintaining the characteristics of a past slice in the new personality. In fact, I'd highly encourage it. Take the best aspects of every character you've ever played and imbue them into a new one. Inevitably this will cause a new mix of experiences which bring out new traits you'd never even thought of before.

Now, don't get me wrong, I'm speaking for myself and I'm not trying to hype Layonara up or push anyone to continue playing when they in fact do not wish to do so. All that I want to do with this posting is to share with you all how I feel about the inherent impermanence within the realm of Layonara. It forces us to come to terms with emotional transitions in-game that mimic similar emotional cycles and transitions found in real life but in such a way that allows us to adapt [and / or harden] ourselves to the realities of real life in a positive and relatively risk-free environment. I've always loved D&D of old for this and in our modern day D&D has given way to learning opportunities on a massive scale with the advent of multiplayer RP games.

Hoping this made sense to someone out there,
OneST8

General Discussion / Thanks and good wishes to Aragon
« on: February 25, 2008, 04:53:07 pm »
I'm not sure if Aragon made it a point of leaving in relative peace, but last night he came online to IRC to bid adieu to some of the team members until September as he ships out to serve his country.

If it were his intentions to simply fade away without any fanfare then I apologize to him, but I felt a showing of community support was deserved and could not let it pass.

Thank you very much for your efforts and hard work for the community and the future of Layonara Aragon and get back safely, we're going to be needing you again.

If you wish to share your well wishes of a safe and speedy return and thoughts for him, please do so without turning this into any sort of political debate.

Get home safe Chuck!

Hall of Heroes and Heroines / The End of an Era.
« on: February 24, 2008, 09:11:15 am »
* Kobal arrives at Leringard by boat. From there he travels south, ever south, until he reaches Brenuth and lastly visits King Ulgrid in his great halls. He travels slowly, visiting each hamlet, village and town along the way - taking his time.

To onlookers it seems much like a pilgrimmage in honour of somebody or something, for the dwarf is often seen with slumped shoulders, making a sad face.

-------------------------------

As he visits, Kobal relates a tale - a tale of epic proportions. At it's centre is another dwarf, the Warlord of Bloody Gate, Varka Cleaveson. The tale starts out when Varka set out to remove the upstart tyrant Gunderforn and reinstated the true King Rory Rockfist. Hereby he, alongside trusted friends, ensured peace and prosperity for the Bloody Gate for any years to come.
Never truly satisfied with his work and ever striving to live up to the legends of his ancestors, Varka strived to strengthen the Gate, so that it would ever be a safe haven to the people he loved. Therefore he worked hard to organize the defences and train new warriors to replace those who had perished in battle against Gunderforn and the troops of Milara sent to bolster his ranks within the city.

As this was accomplished, King Rockfist offered a last task to Varka - to seek and secure the 'Triqueta of Gates'. A relic of myths, the Triqueta was the symbol of the strength of the three gates into the city. Said to be made from the fusing together of the three keys originally made for deh three first gates into the Bloody Gate, the myth says that it was suspended over the King's throne as a warning that one of the King's sacred responsibilities was to tend to the gates of the city. This was because the three gates were the prime defence against any enemy that would seek to enter the Bloody Gate. A common saying in the Boody Gate goes: "The only way into the Gate is through the King".

An aspiring priest blessed with a vision from Vorax had recognized the truth of the myth and knew it's worth to the Bloody Gate. So he spoke to King Rockfist of his vision, who then sent for his most trusted and loyal warrior, Varka Cleaveson. Together with friends he set out to the depths below the mountains, seeking passages not used by dwarfkin for generations.

Following words of an ancient scroll that described how the King's nephew foolishly had stolen the Triqueta in a fit of rage and jealousy and fled into the lower dungeons, the party set out to reclaim what had been lost so many years ago.

Far below ground, within a hive of ghastly enemies the treacherous young dwarf was discovered along with the Triqueta. Cursed by Vorax for his deed, the dwarf had been turned to stone and the Triqueta wrapped in a magical field that protected it from the hands of the unworthy.
The cursed soul, however, had left something behind for those seeking to reclaim his prize. A scroll case held information that showed that he had regretted his deed and defended it until his end. It had been his final act to invoke a prayer to Vorax and ask him to protect what he had foolishly risked. So he was cursed and his soul tied to the Triqueta. It was discovered that to reclaim the Triqueta for the King and the Bloody Gate, another would have to take his burden. The price of past pride would need to be paid anew.

It was then that the warlord stepped forward and made his intentions known. He made his goodbyes to his friends that had fought at his side for so many years and had aided him in his quests for the Bloody Gate. Then, without blinking, Varka Cleaveson stepped forward and clasped the crystal that encased the Triqueta. He uttered a prayer to Vorax:

"The boundaries of time are come undone, I stand in the gateway between two worlds, Hear me through the veil that hides you from my sight, Help me through this day, Watch me. Shelter me. I am your child!"

These words were his last, for as they were uttered, the curse was released and Varka turned to stone. The Triqueta was freed and returned to hower in suspension above the King's throne, while the statue of Varka Cleaveson was carried back up to the Bloody Gate where it now adorns the throne room as a constant reminder of Varka's sacrifice to the people he loved.

This is his tale. *

General Discussion / Reminder About Player Etiquette
« on: February 17, 2008, 01:17:07 pm »
I have recently run across a couple of examples that warrants reminder about player etiquette.

If you are involved in an impromptu quest, please do not send tells to all your friends having them to report to a location. If the GM wants other people or the rest of the server informed, you will probably see a shout like *anyone that is outside sees a bright light reflecting off the clouds in the direction of Hlint*.

Another example, please do not run past people in a CNR area to gather the CNR before the first party gets to it. The best way to handle it is through RP. Stop and ask the original party if they are on their way out or in. You may be able to join, or just come back later. RP is the key. If you are confronted IC'ly about running in front of people, using a Wizard's Tome of Teleportation usually will send the matter to OOC tells; especially if there is no RP to justify your actions.

Examples listed below are not acceptable:
 - I saw a really huge level gap and cause one can't party with more than seven levels of distance I figured you were just RP-ing.
 - I can't play with a good friend cause they're more than seven above me.
 - The room I went into needs a thief to open. I thought you were a cleric?
 - I don't talk often.
 - People start spamming listen checks as I'm usually disguised so it isn't much fun.
 - Everyone mostly knows I'm (insert evil deity here) from the forum, so if I speak to them then I get frustrated.

There are real life players playing these PCs, please have consideration for everyone.

General Discussion / Did I Say the Final Stroke of V3 Before?
« on: December 12, 2007, 06:22:53 pm »

I again find pictures a good snare for you unfortunate readers.  Thanks to the work by numerous developers on the Layonara Team, there's another update coming soon.  So I suppose that last update was not the final stroke after all!

I'll leave it to Dorganath to give you the full update on what's new when the time comes.  Until then, a few screenshots to let you know what's coming.

See you in these regions soon enough.

Introduce Yourself / The who and the what now?
« on: November 08, 2007, 06:29:03 am »
Well, it's me, Timo! (in a Mario voice)

A 25 year old computer shop worker doing part-time there, at a small town in Finland. Very near to the Russian border, about 20km to the border-station from here.

I was born near here too, or actually at this town, but I first lived at the border-station village (village, because it harbors something like 500 residents nowadays). And moved here with my old folks. I went to the local elementary school, visited the local high school for a year, then cut that, moved away and went through vocational school (computer / electronics), then tried my hands at another vocational school (arts). Neither the high school or arts-school really worked for me, the high-school was a because of difficult times, and the arts-school because I realized I wouldn't ever get a job / living out of that stuff here in Finland.

Then I tried a higher degree of computer-technology, for about 1½ years or so, but apparently I wasn't gifted enough in mathematics and so on, so I cut that off from my plans and am going with the vocational  school's papers now.

Military training: None, and I don't need to. Even though Finland has a forced upon military duty for every male after the age of 18, medical reasons can free you from this. Women can attend to the duty with free will. (Yes, this is against human-rights, the forced upon duty. Because if you don't go to the army, you'll go to jail for a year or so.) The medical reason for me: Schizophrenia and depression. (Don't worry, I ain't the psychopathic serial killer some TV-series and films of yore have epitomized schizophrenia patients to be) Nor do I have multiple personalities, those are a symptom of split-personality disorder, which has been documented upon a 100 persons throughout recorded history or so. ;)

And I live at my old folks home, heh, poor me. But it's a big place so I get a lot of room to fidget around, heheh.

Future plans? Some, including a steady job somewhere (not likely here, as there ain't but this one place to work at, and they don't have enough budget to hire me as is.) Maybe my own place (whee, bank loans!), and so on. Maybe make an album with a friend of mine. Me as the song writer and singer, he as the composer. Of course this would be just a studio album, with mixer drums and so on most likely. But with authentic guitars and bass and synthesizers.
Would be something in the line of black metal / doom metal.

General Discussion / Rumors -- Please read
« on: October 27, 2007, 07:00:18 pm »
The following is addressed to the entire Layonara community.  It is not directed at one person or any specific group of people. Please read it and understand it.

As a recent post has highlighted, there have been some ugly and hurtful rumors flying around recently. This kind of thing, though different people and different circumstances, seem to happen on a regular basis. Sometimes the target is one person, other times it's a group of people.  There are back-channel whispers, finger-pointing, and accusations flying around.  The GM Team gets reports of this-and-that but rarely does anyone have the evidence or guts to back up the claims. Some rumors fade, but there are always some waiting to take their place.  It's a continuous cycle, and it is getting really, really old.

I urge everyone to hear what I'm saying here and take it to heart.  Rumors are almost without fail caustic and poisonous to the community.  You may interact with electronic representations, seeing only words and artificial avatars, but there are people behind those things.  Real people.  Not all rumors are false, but most rumors are not nearly as true as some would believe them to be. Whatever the case, they're bad...bad for those who spread them, bad for those who are the targets of them, and bad for this community.

Without going into specifics, the most recent batch of rumors ranges from annoying to very serious with implications that stretch beyond this little community of ours.  And so I ask you all...

If you are involved in spreading such rumors, stop. If you have proof, then present it to a Gm.  If not, then stop. You're hurting people and you're hurting this community.

If you are engaged in activities in the game world/forums/IRC channel(s) that are the center of one or more of these rumors and those activities are contrary to what we have established here, stop.

If you are involved in or complicit in sewing the seeds of discord among all or part of the community, stop.

At this point, I am not overly concerned with what the "facts" may be in the case of the most recent events. There will forever be three sides to every story: "Yours, mine and the truth."  Since the last is often difficult to obtain, we're left with the word of one against the word of another.  As I said, it just needs to stop.

I want everyone to realize that these things are harmful, and they affect more people than just those at the muddy end of the stick.

In the thread about Layonara's future, there's a comment in there about the NWN servers and how long they'll stay up.  To quote Leanthar:

Quote
The NwN servers will stay up and running until it either a) gets to expensive for me to keep it running, so keep donating as this is important for NwN or b) the world or community becomes to much of a hassle in terms of time, effort, or headaches for the servers to stay online or c) we make it to beta testing of the new product which is still a ways away. Layonara is not going away, nor is it fading away; but much rests on the communities shoulders for how long the NwN servers remain online.
It is petty and dramatic things like rumors that are most likely to bring down the Layonara NWN community.  This kind of thing really drains the GM Team and Leanthar himself. It is frustrating, mentally exhausting and time-consuming. In some cases, it has taken hours of research and checking in on people, logs, actions, reports and so forth just to prove or disprove the allegations...time wasted and time not spent interacting with the community.

I don't want this to sound like a threat, but the fact of the matter is, there have been times, more than most of you realize, where the fate of the NWN servers has been close to a complete shut-down because of petty bickering, factional rumors and divisive words and actions.

It all needs to stop, people. I can't stress that enough.

Now, please...understand what I have written here.  Read it over, again if you need to, and really see what I am saying.  And then just think about it and remember it.

And also, please understand that when we take action as a result of things that go on here, be it a banning, a reprimand or some other kind of administrative action, that we do not do so lightly or on a whim. We are not targeting individuals because we don't like them or because we just feel like it.  The GM Team has, among its many duties, an obligation to protect this community.  It comes along with the job, and whatever people may believe, it is not a particularly enjoyable part of the job to ban someone who is acting contrary to the spirit of this community.

I do not really wish for this to become a discussion.  I don't want current or past rumors brought up here and presented with explanations, accusations or justifications.  I don't want people to post their opinions on the situation, be it the one most immediately at hand or any number of such things that have occurred.  Do not use this thread to confess or confirm.  I do not seek a string of "I agree" posts, nor do I particularly want any "Thanks" either.

I want people to read this and understand it.

I know a lot of people love this community and have developed very real and lasting real-life friendships as a result.  Keep that in mind please in all your future actions. Friendships are not formed of bickering and rumormongering. They're formed of a commonality of purpose and philosophy.  If you find, however, that you cannot continue to be a supportive and positive influence in this community, then consider stepping away from it before you contribute to events that may end up hurting those you call friends.

I generally have a lot of faith and respect for this community as a whole.  I sincerely hope that is not misplaced.

Regards,
Dorganath

Ask A Gamemaster / Grabbing masks and PVP
« on: September 27, 2007, 02:12:32 pm »
If a complete stranger walks up to you and attempts to yank your mask or helm off your head, shouldn't that be instant acceptance of PVP where you could just finger of death them for their rude insolence?

I haven't had it happen to me yet, (at least not since way back when I played Rakish) but I've been noticing it going around lately.  Character X is just standing there with a hood on, and along comes character Y who metagamingly read X's bio or pic and *knows* that they're a drow or monstrous race of some sort in disguise.  Then, without a word, the just walk up to character X and emote *yanks X's mask/helm off*

So here we have some poor player's disguise totally ruined because a grabby player doesn't even have the decency to RP with the person to even bring up suspicion.  I understand that while guards might try to do this in service of their jobs, but people not of the military really don't have any right to be touching anyone.  I would view this as assault, since many spells and poisons need only come into contact via touching a person, and most certainly theft of a fine helm or mask.  As such, I think a perfectly justifiable solution would be to make such offenses open season for PVP.

It should also be noted that humans and gnomes without subracial features almost never have their masks ripped off, since the grabby players read their description and see nothing awry.  It's always when the person's a drow or criminal and puts decent effort into disguising themselves that somebody walks right up and yanks it off.  It gets annoying, this 100% accuracy of metagaming.  Could somebody try walking up and trying to grab Ketibjorn's hood, calling him a duergar for once?  I'd like to see how quickly that person would drop to the floor in a pool of their own blood.

Hello everyone,

Due to the withdrawal of permission to use certain written texts, we were forced to rewrite history for the kingdom of Rael, its ruler Broegar and several other links to it (like all other kingdoms on Dregar).

This has caused a delay in handbook release.

In the Lore/History section, you will find a new history of Prantz.
Major changes are:
1) The new ruler is known only as Lord Rael, it was him who lead the army that conquered Prantz.
2) a different form of government there, as well as a changed set of laws.
3) religion is still outlawed, except for the worship of Sulterio

I do want to point out that things like the battle for Prantz, the proclamation of the laws, and the recent agreement with the Rofirein church did happen, it’s just different NPCs and an overhaul of text because of the withdrawal of permission.

We will put an updated version of Prantz in game with the next update.

I would like to thank Honora for her time invested in this rewrite (and the other ones), she continues to amaze me with her creativity. Thank you.

If there are any questions related to the change above, please post them here and Honora or myself will try to answer (Honora knows Rael better than I do, hehe).

Thank you for your understanding, follow this link for the text.
Ed
