Fixed Bugs / Bolts not Acquired
« on: September 24, 2005, 05:12:00 pm »
I crafted some some platinum tipped mahogany bolts with owl feathers and did not receive them.

I would like a reimbursement this time. The last time I was just reporting, but now is seems to be all bolts.

General Discussion / Pawn Shop Salesperson vs. Bone Dragon Golem
« on: September 23, 2005, 10:31:00 am »
*ding ding ding*

Round 1:

I stepped into Dalanthar and the Pawn shop sales person was fighting a Bone Dragon Golem. Neither were injured so it looked to be a long battle. I was thinking of breaking them up but...

*note to self...don't mess with the pawn shop personnel*

Quests Ideas and Discussion / Druid and Ranger Rides
« on: September 01, 2005, 04:22:00 pm »
It would be fun/nice if a Druid/Ranger could gain a Dire Wolf to ride vise a horse. (At high levels, of course)

Edit: Or if we could ride our companions.

Fixed Bugs / Iron Locks Uncraftable
« on: August 25, 2005, 09:45:00 pm »
To make an iron lock, it requires two ingots of iron. When I place the ingots on the tinkering device, it does not give me the "Craft It" script and the the "Iron Lock" selection is not green.

Fixed Bugs / Mahogany Bolts
« on: August 06, 2005, 03:26:00 pm »
I successfully make mahogany bolts with raven feathers and bronze arrowheads. All the scripts state the fact, however, I did not receive the bolts. The bolts are not that important that I would need to have them reimbursed.

This actually happened twice. The first time I thought it was an error on my part and missed the fact that I didn't make them successfully. This time was a confirmation. I would copy the screen all the scripts if I knew how.

Edit: The time was about 11:20 pm GMT on day 8/6/2005 in Port Hampshire

Bioware Issues / Invisibility not working
« on: July 31, 2005, 10:57:00 pm »
When I cast invisibilty and move into an area, the creatures still attack. I will be invisible for a while and move into an area with creatures and they still attack. I know that there are reported bugs with the spell. I am just another source and symptom reporter.

General Discussion / This is what I like about Layonara...
« on: July 26, 2005, 03:31:00 pm »
Ok, we all here the complaints and frustrations when something bad/wrong happens with a player. What about the good?

Imagine this, you put most of you time and money into a project. You put all your thoughts and dreams into it to make it fit what you think everyone would like. Something that you created and can stand back and say, “I made that.”

Then, all you hear is the negatives, the rants and raves, but hardly ever a compliment. (With the exception of a post quest thread) What would your reaction be?

So I ask that players share the good fortunes and the reason why they enjoy playing on Layonara in this thread. Let’s give the Layonara staff a reason to continue the great job that they are doing.

To start it off…
…the DM channel is awesome and having someone to help you get down off of a ledge when you are by yourself is great.
…the quests are very diverse and fun.

I could go on and on, but my two typing fingers are getting cramped. Please add more!

Development Journals and Discussion / Journal of Bo Fletcher

*Finds a nice shaded area under the branches of a very large oak next to a small lake and sits on the soft grass*

*Rummages through the pack for some parchment and a quill and cheap ink. *

Well, I have arrived on the continent of Mistone. The folks here are very friendly. I have found the ‘force’ that was calling me. It was the dragon. The reason for my calling was to fight the war against Sinthar Bloodstone “Blood.”

The dragon told me the history and the current status. “Sinthar was a young Human General. He did not believe in the cause of any Dragon but instead saw the Dragons as the ones who brought all the death and destruction to the world. With that belief he formed his own army in the hopes of forcing both Dragon sides to surrender. As time wore on he became very good with magic and battle tactics and it is rumored he never lost a battle.”

“Sinthar has been on the World, since his banishment, for just over twenty-four years now and he has destroyed nearly all of the Dragons that were still alive. His forces now control all but two continents and two islands. He grows stronger by the day. Rumors spread of his generals beginning to run their own agendas, however it is thought that he still has heavy control over all of them.”

So I gladly accept this charge and commit to the cause of defeating “Blood”.

*Slightly raises head to catch the light breeze across the face*

Now to Rodlin. Since I have arrived to Mistone, I have met some of Rodlin’s companions. However, I have not seen Rodlin. I know from our childhood that if he doesn’t want to be found, then he won’t be.

I know he is around. I have noticed things that just didn’t seem right. I have found items on my path that were placed there, seemingly to aid my effort. So, Rodlin is watching me, I can accept that. But why does he stay hidden from me?

*Puts away the writing supplies and stare across the lake contemplating his purpose*

General Discussion / Iron Tipped vs Bronze Tipped Arrows
« on: June 27, 2005, 07:58:00 pm »
I was working on a price and description guide for the items that I can make and sell. I did the oak, bronze tipped with all the different feathers. Then I did the same for the iron tipped. All the stats and prices were the same.

When I craft the bronze arrowheads, they are 95%. When I craft the iron, they are 45%. Therefore, being the super whiz that I am, I figured that the iron arrowheads would be better. However, it does not appear to be that way.

If all the stats and prices are the same, what is the advantage of making iron tipped arrows?

The skies are silent and empty. Arrow making is coming to an end.

Where are the birds? There are none left. Is there a snake problem in Layonara?

NWN Ideas, Suggestions, Requests / Fort Hope Pond Stocked
« on: May 25, 2005, 04:04:00 pm »
Every time I step out the front door of my companions and my house at 176 Fort Hope, I look at the pond that holds no fish. It is an impressive body of water. It is a shame that it no fish inhabit it. I think that I will get some bass from Zainge River and stock this pond. While I am at it, I will populate the pond with baitfish to ensure the survival of the new stock. *Breaks out the fishing pole and minnow net*

*Lifting the bow in his left hand and marveling at it's simplicity and it's power*

This simple piece of wood with a taught string attached, that I have made with my own hands, is the difference between life and death. My arrows are straight and sharp. My aim is improving. This simple weapon protects my companions and me. Ultimately, it will be used to destroy evil.

*Lowers the faithful bow to his side and ensures that his quiver is full*

*Lowers head in prayer*

I pray that you, the Prince of Wolves, will continue to aid me in my crafting skills and blesses every weapon that I make and wield. May the weapons that you provide me be used to protect your nature; your animals that aid me, feed me, and cloth me; your forest that shelters me; and the companions that journey with me. I will walk in the path that you lay down for me. May it serve your purpose; I am your servant for your cause.

*Raises head with a lightened heart*

I am but a single elf of low significance at this point of my new life. In order for me to be able to help the land and to better destroy evil, I need to find a way to improve myself. A way to improve my abilities and hone my archery skills.

Adventuring has taught me so much since I have left Voltrex. I have met some humans that are tolerable and that have taken me in. They are different from the stories that I have heard about humans. However, the arrogance part is true. I will protect my new companions faithfully and will accompany them wherever they go. Will they be my new family? We will have to wait and see.

*Thinking about his companions Yar, Kavil, Esimon, Rawkwin, Emerald, and Dorax*

NWN Ideas, Suggestions, Requests / Swimming with the Fishes
« on: May 10, 2005, 05:50:00 pm »
I have just started getting into the fishing. And not that it really matters, but the fish pictures may be switched. The trout look like bass and the bass looks like trout. It may just be me.

Also, I have not ran across them yet, are there catfish in Mistone? *licking lips* I would love to have some fish and chips.

On the flip side, thanks for putting fish in Lake Alon.

In addition, the cooked fish for the different species is great! *breaking out the fishing rod and checking expiration date on the fishing license* It really makes me look forward to the "You are feeling Hungry" scrolls.

Thanks,
      Rodlin
