World Leader Development Quests (WLDQ's) / Wolv Toklin
« on: September 09, 2005, 04:39:00 pm »
Character Name: Wolv Toklin
Current Level: 19
EXP to Level to NEXT level: 560,000

Wolv was born and raised in Fort Llast. He lived in a home with his grandfather (Wolv Korniker Half-Orc Paladin) His mother Mary Toklin (sort of quarter-orc paladin of Toran) and his father John Toklin (human cleric of Toran). When he was young his grandfather would tell him stories from when he was a adventurer. At the age of 10 wolv entered the temple as an initiate and began his training as a paladin. He was very nieve to his lineage and did not understand the hatred and distaste that some held for those that looked half-orcish. (even though wolv had very little half-orc blood in his veins genetics had made him look almost identical to his grandfather excluding the green skin) All he had ever known to that point was Toran and Faith. When wolv was 16 his grandfather died from old age and the complications that come from it. This was very hard on wolv the younger and he desperately searched his soul to make heads or tails of how he should deal with it. Slightly embittered but still faithful wolv continued his studies. At the age of 17 wolv was nearing completion of his path to paladinhood. He left the temple one day to gather firewood and just outside the gates of fort llast wolv encountered some mercenaries who had nothing better to do and an evil temperment. They beat him because of his appearance and tried to take his money (which he had none) Overwhelmed and outmaned wolv cried out to Toran for help. Pleading with his god for divine intervention, yet no intervention came. Lieing in a pool of his own blood and near death he cursed the name of Toran and left his faith lieing there. Wolv stumbled to melnon where he found an inn and with the help of the barkeep got into a room where he was tended to for a few days while he recovered. Wolv never returned to the temple and strayed far from fort llast as long as he could. That is where he entered the online world of layonara. He spent his first 11 or 12 levels cursing toran yet on odd occasions you could still find him in the temple of Toran. During his time as just a regular fighter he rarely entered another temple but he was enticed several times by demons and powerful undead asking him to join them for great reward. One faiteful day wolv was asked to join the High Council of Layonara which he did reluctantly. Wolv felt strongly that the invitation was because of things his grandfather did not on his own merit (and still feels somewhat like this today) In wolvs eyes he will never stand up to his grandfathers example and still feels quite guilty for denieing Toran... to the point that he fears speaking with his mother because he knows how hard it was on her when he left the faith. One afternoon when the council decided it was time to reveal themselves in hopes that the people would join them in defence of layonara and it instead turned into a slanderous attack on the council from those that disagreed with thier hiding of the council wolv devoutly defended the council and what they were trying to accomplish. That day wolv expressed to Quintayne his fear of attempting to return to Toran and ask for forgiveness. Quintayne encouraged wolv and with his help and several of the other members of the council wolv went to the temple and asked for forgiveness. Toran came to him in a booming voice and chastised him and told him to never stray again and that through his faith and loyalty he would once again walk the path of paladinhood. Wolv has quickly and ferverently sought the trust and loyalty of those who lived in the area as he worked to become a paladin again. Being sent on several quests by Toran himself to show his faith in Toran and build himself towards paladinship Wolv found an old friend of his grandfathers, Arlor a Androsphinx. While helping Arlor Wolv was guided by a visage of his grandfather and Toran himself to the resting place of Toran's Prime (the very first paladin of Toran) At the tomb with writing on it that only wolv could read he awoke Prime and spoke with him. The first paladin gave him council then left to return to Torans side, leaving wolv with his sword, shield and a magical horses bridle. Wolv returned these items to the temple of Toran. Wolv recently has found Hope Sandell who is his soulmate. She was raised to respect Half-Orcs and was even trained to use an orcish weapon. She loves him for who he is on the inside not who he appears to be on the outside. They are now married and just recently Hope gave birth to thier first son Will.

What should happen in his epic quests: uh.. im not totally sure on this and would probably need to discuss it a bit with the DM. But he will be becoming a champion of Toran so that would be part of the quests.

World Leader Development Quests (WLDQ's) / Maddison Trenton
« on: September 09, 2005, 04:38:00 pm »
Maddison Trenton
Level 19
640,000 to next level

Looking back on Maddi's bio I sort of laugh...it was a halfling RPing a half elf child who enjoyed casting spells at rocks...right...

Maddison started off as that kid who would always try and tag along with her older friends adventuring...the first person she met in Hlint was Merry Thorn, who helped her out skinning rats for money, Telvast and Xiao who started her off on tinkering and shoveling sand in South Hlint and Reventage, who is what I consider her best friend while she was still halfling size. Eventually she grew up and just became more confused as to who she wanted to be...her first guide was Rynolt Gibberhands (Dev quest by 8-bit) who was a befuddled old man who would teach her in Lucinda's temple in Melnon. He never really taught her what to be, but he instructed her on the use of spells against certain creatures. I suppose you could say she went through the "I want to be Nathan Birche!" stage... but he was nonetheless a figure in her life, not a big one or anything but I could say she definately wanted to be him at a point in time. That didn't last too long though, it was around then when Maddison became closer with Llunienunique...or however you spell her insanely long and complicated name.
She always knew Llu but never really became good friends with her. She would make flasks for her earlier on in her life and get her random herbs to try and help her cough but that's about it. The friendship really started around the time of Maddison's trial for breaking Gotak out of jail. She taught her how to act in the court and such and helped her through those three days. After those three days Maddison asked Llu if she would apprentice her...in Aeridin's temple she made some vows about following enchantment from now on and Aeridin's way to save life whenever possible and not to use direct damage spells unless necessary. It basically all changed from there, the casting style and personality, she just got happier I suppose.
After the enchantress dealy I was really looking to start something new and different. Divination came into play when I tried it out on one of Leanthar's small plot-based quests. I really enjoyed my first time doing it and was lucky enough to continue and even have some CDQs to develop it. She has been involved with the Sielwood Witch almost all of these quests...I would consider her Maddison's teacher right now. Now to do the more updated bio-ish...

Many towns and cities on Mistone Rilara and Dregar know of the blonde Half-Elf who is commonly seen parading through towns on inane or noble adventures. Some know her as Maddison, some know her and the lady who at all their cookies, some just know her as the clumsy young adventurer who is constantly tripping on her robes...if they were to ask her about herself, she would explain to them that she studies the arcane arts and is focusing in Divination and Enchantment schools...she has a fondness for ice wine and cookies. She is a follower of Aeridin (Though she has slowly been moving more to Lucinda) and currently doesn't live anywhere but has spent alot of time in North Point dealing with some things about a temple of Lucinda. She would say her current teacher is the Sielwood Witch, whether that is official or not...she would say she has also studied under Llunienunique Artuillerosse (hope I spelled that right)

What I want to happen on her epic...or an idea anyhow.

The moment I read the Lucinda Diety post about the Council of Magic I knew what I would request for my epic. Joining the council of magic and becoming the Grandmaster of Divination sounds pretty epic to me. It's a role that I would love to fill, but it obviously comes with some complications...I remember asking Leanthar a while ago if it was possible for a player to become one...I think the answer was "I don't see why not but it would need looking into". I realise that this is more of an NPC role, but I would love to play this with Maddison and I think it is very possible for a PC to play it. She has recieved some IC information from the Witch about the topic on a CDQ ran by Pankoki a month or so ago, as well I have recieved some OOC information. Right now Maddison follows Aeridin and Lucinda secondly...I would want this to switch around so her primary diety is Lucinda.

The only thing I want to gain (material) would be a magical staff. They are unique and rare and shows an accomplishment. Something having to relate to divination would probably be best...

With Eight-Bit's leaving I have asked Aryn to take over. Thankfully he has agreed to run it.

World Leader Development Quests (WLDQ's) / Ender Sai

**A confusing collection of loose papersheets, there seems
**to be no order to it. Observations and thoughts have
**been scribbled down haphazardly and oddly enough in
**several different styles of handwritings.

The So called Desert Dwarf saved mine, and other's, lives several times. A heavy debt to carry.

Some answers may be found at the highest peak among the grey peaks.

Root of the evil is finally gone. How that was accomplished I*m not too sure of. Most of us fell in the fight, save Remiel and one or two others.

Now when I look upon Yube, I'd be very surprised if I came out of this alive.

Loriandil the librarian might know something, what the one of Lucinda's priestesses told us, anyways.

Extract from a book of written by a follower of Corath:

"it is a story written from the perspective of a Corath folloewer, and relates to a tale 500 years ago. Relevant extracts relate to an action involving two swords."
"Two warriors, one of Corath and one of Toran were drawn out onto the plains near Karthy ...they had gathered a large following on recent exploits."
"The warrior of Corath had been intent on marching his army to sack Karthy, but turned his men aside to chase after a warrior of Toran"
"This nearly split his army for they wanted gold not a battle..."
"However his leadership was such they followed, and made with haste to the bloody gate where a battle began. The two leaders almost at once drew together and fought."
"Others noticed swords were alike, none could deal them a telling blow such was their skill, many others fell and eventually stood aside and watched the two fight for hours."
"Both fell unable to continue and yet unwilling to give up...unconscious seconds took up the weapons and the fight began anew"
"This continued overnight, and only when mercenaries were left standing..who lifted the the swords and fled the field did it end...there is no mention of what happened to the swords after that."
// - by mixafix

The twin sisters were actually great swords. Have little taste for that kind, so destroying them was a good move. Would have been moderately pleased facing a foe with one of those in their grasp.

Strange things seem common in this world. An old lady named Jasmin, tells the story of swamp who dreamed. She says the swamp dreamed of flames and explosions but when the swamp woke up, it woke in smoke and confusion. And in the heart of the flames was the Son of the Moon. Orn's Tear.

Orn's Tear brings chaos to the swamp, no creature seems to be left unaffected. An unsafe place like the High Moors has been even less safe.

Apparently the lizzards fought amongst themselves over the possession of the stone, Orn's Tear. Seems like the stone changed owner quite a few times among the lizzardmen. But now jasmin wants the Tear for herself and it looks like we're the ones to go fetch it. Good doggies.
The dogs being, Wei-zu, Buppi, Melkan, Yashilla, Mirren and me the puppy.

Cursed Lightning
Since the day my dumb ox followed me into the temple of Mist, I've been stalked by Lightning.
Been many close calls, but Twice I've been struck. First time Syn was accidently hit too. The second time was during bad weather while I was digging clay at Lake Alon... but there are no such things as coincidence. As if that wasn't enough, Johan the Fur Trader chased my ox out of the Crafting Hall. Bah, my lady luck must be having a heavy cold and sent her evil twin to fill in for her meanwhile.

A boy brought me a message from the Merchants Dogi and Wach, looks like they liked something I did last time I helped them out a little. They want me to get a parcel and not drawing too much attention to myself when doing so. But there's not much I can do until I get further instructions in Port Hampshire.

Another boy sent me to a new meeting place, in a very hush-hush way, in the Dinen Forest, outside a place that might be a hideout for someone or something.

Bah, got jumped only minutes after I arrived at the hideout in Dinen Forest. And to think, the day to be called stupid by an Ogre has actually come. Woke up in some dank murky storage room, with an Ogre too close for my nose's liking. The ogre grunt tried to get some names from me, but I honestly couldn't answer accurately, since his oral communication skill lacked to say the least. Well, guess his boss will question me sooner or later.

After a lot of questioning, me supposedly the one who would supply with the answers, I found out that the Boss is in Velensk. And that I'll soon end up in the cooking pot. Former is quite useful, latter is quite disturbing.

We found the "Boss", turned out it was one of my former employers, Wach. Had to put him down, he turned rabid on us when we didn't give him a chance to escape.

Some general has work that needs doing and had some new things to tell.

Apparently a curator of the king's found a strange book that she'd not seen before. So she brought it to some wizard's in the king's service, because there was a lock on it. In the book there was something about the "Horn of Storms". None of the King's people seemed to know much of use about it, though. Not being complete imbeciles, they finally got something of use from the text's, or so the general says. The location of the Horn.

Looks like it's an important artifact, since its able to blow away the storm that covers Blood's fleet.

Journey starts well, before we've even taken the first step on it, a quarrel has begun between Kobal and Caldiir. Everyone who knows Kobal knows he doesn't care much for sooty elves.

We found a temple dedicated to vipers or some viper god. The place was more or less crawling with snakes and snake-priestesses. Deep into their lair we found the champion who guarded the box we were searching for.

Our guide, who we thought was a soldier from dregar, turned out to be a Black Wizard. He made quite the fool out of us. If we're lucky he unleashed a viper god on the world. If we're unlucky, he unleashed an angry, powerful viper god on the world.

(An incomplete list)
We need grapes, hopes, elder- and cranberries, rice, aloe, walnuts, Wizard's whest Ale, glass vials,

There's a possibility the Black Dragon known as the Black Plague and the Black Death has been residing somewhere in the Battle Fens. Getting some advice from Moraken. Never -never- trust the Black Dragon. Gee, like the titles Black Death and Black Plague encourages trust.

Though Moraken later said that there was this one person who managed to make a deal with the Black Dragon, a follower of Corath. What kind of deal, he did not know. Annie the adventurer also claimed to have gotten away after having made a deal with the Black Dragon, seems like she was quite drunk when she told the tale though. Last heard whereabouts Fort Hope. When Moraken mentioned a patrol seeing the Black Dragon near Fort Velensk, I recalled Lara telling me about how she and some others tried to follow a black dragon and warned me about the area. And another group retrieved a black scale from a dragon who crashed into the Broken Forest.

When leeches crawl around in unusual amounts in Lorindar, why am I not surprised when a large group of gnomes rush by?
And people ask why when I get a headache after hearing a gnome say "An exciting new invention!".

What do you think should/could happen to your character during Epic Levels:

Ender achieving the title of a weapons master will be the
first sign of him becoming epic. Later, letting him find out
something concerning his fiendish heritage may be a possible
path as well.

World Leader Development Quests (WLDQ's) / Hargranar Craggenhilt
« on: September 09, 2005, 04:36:00 pm »
Character name: Hargranar Craggenhilt
Current lvl: 20
EXP to next lvl: the lvl'ing sign has appeared. Not sure how long to lvl 22.

Bio Update:

Hargranar was born into a dwaven family as the youngest of two brothers. His childhood with his brother was not an unusual one. They were as brothers are, always fighting yet close beyond their blood. His brother destined for leadership in the clan made their everyday lives and training to that of a dwarven statesmen, the learning of reading and writing the several dwarven tongues and writings. Yet Hargranar’s life was destined to be lived outside the clans protection, and the brotherly bond was weakened as they were seperated. Hargranar’s future was sealed aswell. The Craggenhilts are kown worshippers of Vorax and as tradition, hargranar was given away to the clergy of Vorax in his early manhood. After many years of service in the clergy of Vorax, Hargranar was sent out on his final test, a lifelong test in duty and service of Vorax, his goal to show the world the meaning and word of Vorax.

*arrives on Mistone, and goes through several ordeals*

On mistone Hargranar learns fast, his skills and powers increase. He makes a friendship which is to last for many years, the Stout dwarf Kobal.

He helps a restles soul to find his peace, a soul which has been devided into six for many hundreds of years. The soul is once again wholae and able to rest. (this was a long series Hargranar came in the middle of, i think it was 20+ sessions, led by Storm.)

Defends the Drow’s attak on Hlint. Barely succeeding. At that point the Drow has taken over Spellguard as a base. Families united into attack against Hlint and Mistone.

A series of strange events ahppen in Hlint and the sorounding townships, members of different deities appaear and wants heroes to deliver a certain object to a cleric of that Deity. Hargranar and several others find out that a powerful demon is trying to lure these clerics into his submission, and the gods in time. They (the party) amongst other things, poison the sielwood, makes sure that Toran is in the end attacked by the now Dark Angel, which has rissen to godhood, and severall other mishaps. As Hargranar sees he’s yet again been fooled into doing the bidding of an evil power. He decides to leave it at that point. He feels hes doing more wrong then right. (and at that point the quest moves over to Remiels ECDQ).

Hargranar unwillingly helped an Ogre mage (*sighs* off all stupid things!) Gather an item made of Grand, the item was in the hands of his brother in the Haven mines. His brother leading the mines and killing everyone trying to rise to his position with this mighty weapon of a bastard god. Well hargranar and several others ventured into th mines and quickly foind that the Ogremage was an imposter, really trying to lure stupid people down the mine and kill them. Which he succeded in. Some members of the party made a few rash and not so bright descisions resulting in the party going unconscious. They were thrown in jail and questioned by the Ogre mage and his minions. Yet...all Hargranar saw was Gloin storming out of his jail cell getting killed. (though it did’nt seem so at the moment the Ogre’s intentions were’nt hostile, he wanted to question us, not kill us) So Hargranar thought, that the end was coming unless he tried something even more stupid and heroic. So he did, and died. And while Harg’s cold corpse was on the jail floor, the ogre guard saw his hance for an early lunch and featsed upon Hargs leg (yummy!). Well without Harg’s help the party made their way our of the cells miraculously and fled with the others, corpses included. Harg was rissen back to life by a powerful healer. And because of a witty lass in the group, he was now known as Hargranar Threeleg Craggenhilt.

Hargranar and others are led to believe a mighty artifact is located on Xanthril, this artifact will be of great importance in the war against Blood. Supposedly a small golden box. Official members of the guards and others are pressenting the group with the task, which deletes all distrust in harg, since the guards are to be trusted...
They travel to Xanthril and locates the artefact in the Dungeon of the Serpent. The smash and kill as usual, finding the artefact after much rouble. They return to the base on Xanthril, where a guard captain is waiting for their return. On their return the “guard captain” shows his real self as a great mage, he then seals off himself with the artefact, the party only capable of watching his actions.
He then starts what i to be the reawakening of an ancient slumbering god. Shadison the viper. For a long time the skies are now also adorned with his symbol, a srpent shown in stars.

Hargranar assists in the rebuilding of a dungeon they succeded to cave in on the Dark angel Quest. The expedition led by Terradon Duvall. The Dungeon a holy ground for Roferein. A safekeeper for a holy relic of Roferein. ((Terradons CDQ, for becoming a Paladin)) On this quest the guards again appear as Lawful, yet respectless of it. The clergy in Pranzis also “currupt” in harg’ eyes.

This quest and several before, also including the Dark angel, has resulted in the distrust of the law. Harg no longer has the respect he used to. He makes a journey back to Dregar to gather his thoughts, seeking reason to stay, helping against Blood. (a three month break from Layonara)
On his return he quickly gets back to hs old ways only change is his trust for the law. (Harg’s alignment is changed form LG to NG, something planned for...long)

On his return he finds his brother murdered by the Albino. One of the greatest assassins ever seen. Hargranar has yet to return to his clan’s caves and pay his respect. Yet many problems stood in his way.

Ideas:
Well for one it would be nice to start it with him paying his repect to his now dead brother and family on Dregar. And take it from there. Which wil resuslt in Harg promissing the clan to kil the Albino when/if the chance arises. Another idea would be to pay his respect to the Clergy of Vorax. And Vorax himself. Maybe retrieve a long lost Artefact.

Development:
From his 21st lvl i want to lvl Harg as a fighter. All through his time on Layonara his skills with the Greataxe really isnt matched by many, so the fact that he now focuses in that training only makes sense.(to me anyway) He’s a cleric, yes. But a cleric of Vorax, the Father of Battle. All things fair he will also choose feats reflecting this, feats in his favored weapon the Greataxe.

//im pretty sure i've convinced Storm and Pan to run it for me. Those two are probably the two DM's that would have the most knowledge of harg aswell. In Kobals submission here he stated that we probably would do out ECDQ's together, but we've not been able to make that work. So we're going to have them run seperately.

World Leader Development Quests (WLDQ's) / Gloin
« on: September 09, 2005, 04:35:00 pm »
Gloin
20
300k or so

It's been a long strange trip so far in the life of Gloin. A healer in the service of Vorax, Gloin's days were spend doing odds and end work for some well known Hlint towns folks. Doing odd jobs for the undertaker, a merchant plagued by goblins, and retreaving lost documents, were just a few of the things that were part of Gloin's early training.
One day while shopping in local merchants in Hlint with close friend, and being shocked at the high prices, an idea was hatched to make thing affordable to the local adventures. The Orc Basher Merchant Guild was born. Dedicated the the arts of crafting, and supplying finely crafted items. Soon a house was needed to hold the supplies. At the same time membership grew also, which required a larger building , so a guild hall was built.
Thing's were going well till the Drow invaded Hlint. It's was a dark time, roads full of Drow warriors, the town itself was plagued by the dreaded assasins. Of coarse Glon and his fellow Bashers rose to the challenge. Fighting off the Drow took weeks but in the end they retreated back to the dread underdark. Adventure after adventured followed. Gloin's armor and weapon crafting skills increased, soon even the Queen herself was requesting weapons and armors, as all ways the demand was met.
Months of quite passed, but soon a call for heros was once again sounded. It seems that Bloods forces were on the move, and that The Dragons were needed to help stem the advance. Making deals with dragons is offten more than not a losing proposition. With much humbleness and quite a few erronds we were able to get the surviving dragons to help fight Bloods forces.
After this Gloin returns to the life of a shop keeper. Keeping a store stocked can be quite alot of work, gathering items, crafting them to usefull tools takes much work and time. One night after the last patron had left, Gloin looked up the shop and decided on a few ales before heading home. one turned into three, four turned into nine, and like any good dwarf soon twenty or so ales were consumed. Stagering out the door heading home Gloin hears a quiet but stern voice " my son you have strayed from the true path".
Those words echo through his mind the next few days. Figuring it was the ale from that night he put it out of his mind. Three days later again walking home from the shop, a bright light hits him and he is knocked to the ground like a blind man. This time a booming voice echos in his head "you have strayed from the true path, my people need you". Holding his head and quite blind somehow he made his way home.
Sitting in a chair Gloin neither ate nor drank for three days, going over and over the words that he heard. On the night of the third day, aknok was heard upon the door. Fumbling to get the door, a voice was heard opn the other side " open cousin i am here to heal you". Opening the door and old and wisen Dwarf walk in, and in a few hours time taught Gloin the meaning of the vision. The last thing that was said to him as the sagely Dwarf "Heed the call lad, yer kin needs ya", with that the blindness left, and Gloin was left to ponder those words.

World Leader Development Quests (WLDQ's) / Rurik Kessel
« on: September 09, 2005, 04:31:00 pm »
Name: Rurik Kessel

Level: 20

Xp:5772272 to next level: 6860000

I have done some things in my life. Master tailor, wood crafter, and tinker. I have worked hard on my skills to become good at what I do. Not for pride at being the best but for the love of my craft. What beauty there is to find in joing  several things into one item. I have always enjoyed gathering though, it allowed me time to survey the world. TO see you places and meet new people, heh and the gold never hurt no one. But, for a long time I had to stop for too many people had taking up my trade and were bringing some animas close to being wiped from this world. So I spent most of my time  helping and protecting some of the most endangered animals so that Nature could take its course and and produce more to they were safe from being extinct.

Forming one of the most sucessful guilds, the Orcbashers with my friends Gloin and Alex. The times we had working on the guild itself, the guildhall and gathering gold and resourses to make it what it is today. Helping the the dwarf build the shop I can say now that my wounds are heal that was a great experience. When I look back on the idea of it, I thought that it would never work, no one would want to come to town and buy goods that other people sell, you would just have to find them.. Sad when we as a society have become so lazy to hunt down a better deal. So yes, I smile everytime I walk by the shop and see people waiting for Gloin or Grubber to open the doors to them.

Then there was the Bloodpools. How everyone pulled together to destroy two of them..I was glad to be apart of that even though it cost me more of my soul. The first one destroyed was deep in the underdark where we had to cross an invisble bridge to get to. Once there though we were confronted by Eon the Betrayer and while we did battle with his golems and demons it allowed Ozy and Triba time to decipher the correct pool and launch the potion that was giving to us by Xora into it and flee as the blod pool erupted and destoyed the tower it was hidden in. The next one we found was past the great red dragon, Fisterion, who allowed us passage into his domain so that we may have a chance at weakning Blood further. We made our way down until we cam again to the place that housed the second blood pool. There again we had to battle Bloodstones army of demons and elementals. Yet once again Triba and Ozy were there and a host of over brave adventurers. Again we bought them tiem to find the blood pool and to throw the potion in to destroy the blood pool. Once down we had to run before the labrynth collasped. It shows me that this world has a chance to stop Bloodstone and his generals. Yet once again Triba and Ozy were there and a host of over brave adventurers No matter what are differences we can pull together in times of need to form something that Bloodstone could never hope to break. I just wish now more then ever there was more of me to give to that cause..

Along after that I was fortunate to help Triba and Ozy again in rasing money to rasie the Great Library even though it was more financial was I was there when we went down to rasie the library and was there when we agreed to with the elves of Voltrex that the Great library would be built a new in Volrex. With my great donation to her Casue I was allowed a permenant pass to Voltrex.

Soon I hope to be accomplishing more things for my life. I plan to venture to go into the Forest of Mist and build a rangers grove and move out unwelcomed guest that have made there hime in the woods. Also I would like to form a guild of Rangers to help guard the forest of Dregar..

Character Name - Quintayne Rosewyne
Level – 20
Exp to next Lvl –

Update –

After a nights prayer Quintayne received guidance from Rofirein to bring together a council of souls that could guide and aid the world in the times of Stife to come. The “High Council” was born. As the thirteenth vote Quintayne is the decider and can, when votes are split, sway the council to one way or the other. From time to time Quintayne receives the name of others in prayer that should join those upon the council. Souls touched by the gods perhaps who have shown commitment to their fellows and to the world. Many call him the leader and in many ways he functions as one though dislikes the term and does not impose himself as such. Taking every opportunity to correct any that would call him a leader. He is a humble in his leadership. It is his wish to serve the people and the world as he does Rofirein. He hopes to one day see a new age of peace and contentment sweep across the realm once the threat of blood and his minions are finally defeated.

As High priest of Rofirein Quintayne continues to dedicate himself to honor, strength and protecting those who cannot protect themselves. Quintayne cannot be swayed in his belief that law is essential for peace and in the end all shall be judged be it in life or in death. Everyone shall answer to justice and Quintayne has been known to call his companions to answer to it. Thusly Quintayne is currently pursuing a trial against Rufus Coldfinger who has been implicated in the massacre at Dalanthar. Quintayne hopes and prays that Rufus is not guilty though has no reason to doubt the word of the one who brought Rufus’s confession to him. Quintayne believed Rufus to be much like Nathan Birche. While necromancers they did not use their art for ill but only good. He trusts in the monarchy and Rofirein that if Rufus is guilty then justice shall find him.

The greatest two events in Quintayne’s life today have been his marriage to the beautiful lady Kasha Lyonard and the birth of his twins Aurhinius and Jadaria. His wedding held in the outskirts of Krandor beside one of the greatest waterfalls in mistone was attended by the seven sisters while the ceremony itself was blessed and conducted by Queen Alurial of Mistone. Many of his companions attended and he was honoured and blessed by their presence. The vows he spoke bound his soul to Kasha’s and they have become one, their souls forever entwined in love. There are no words powerful enough to describe how strongly he loves his wife. He cannot understand why she chose him above all others but does not question it. He could fill a book with metaphors about her character and her beauty and still barely scratch the surface of how she appears in his eyes. She is strong and he knows she is capable of taking care of herself though he believes it his duty.
His two children were his second blessing given to Kasha and himself after a night of innocent passion and born in the house of the sielwood witch once again in the presence of the seven sisters. They have grown quickly and already are showing they have their own distinct paths to follow. Quintayne protects them feverishly from anything that the world may throw at them as well as he does his wife. He would give his life for them all without a second thought. He sees the future within them. They are his hope.

The Shifter -

Since the events that lead to the failed ritual to free Nathan from the shifter he has aided Nathan at every chance to regain his missing soul often taking him to dark places at the bequest of the shifter. Quintayne has been within the tower of darkness many times and recently travelled to a temperoral vault to recover a part of the shifter he may used to regain his “Amulet of power” that holds his soul.

The blood wells and the Ancient–

Quintayne has been close to one of the failed blood wells that were used by Blood in his attempt to bring his army to the world. It was a place of torment and perhaps one of the few places he felt truly alone and cut off from his god. Within he and the others encountered the ancient councillor. Quintayne still believes to this day though the councillor is now free that it should not be trusted for its nature is still unknown. Was the creature imprisoned, by whom and why?

The Golden Viper -

Quintayne has given much of his time to a group of brave souls that called themselves “The Golden Viper” aiding them to defeat a demon their single goal. It took many adventures to many to list here. Key events included –

The recovery of a small Halfling’s body and journal that would lead them to an obsidian stone.
A journey into a realm of dreams to recover the soul of a bronze dragon and free it from imprisonment where Quintayne was given chance to speak with it and given a stone that would lead the group to an obsidian stone.
The completion of the obsidian stone and a wish granted to rid the world of the demon and restore all things to their just state.
The recovery of the soul of the golden Viper Boroin and reunion with his love.
The final defeat of the demon.

The seven sisters –

Quintayne has for some time been trying to aid the seven sisters to unite together believing it to be their wish. They were able to free the lost lady that had for many years haunted the world as a spirit. Now free the sisters have stood together yet still seem divided though Quintayne remains hopeful they shall come together. He believes each of the seven have an individual plight that must be solved yet they are each unable to speak of it directly. He hopes he may be able to aid each of them in turn in times to come. He has most affinity for Queen Alurial for she has always been most respectful and kind to him. He believes her a true leader and would aid her above the others.

The Lost Library – For some time Qunitayne and those of the council had been seeking the lost library and now that it has been found he finds himself once again with many new questions of blood, his generals, the soul mother and many more. He was able to ask his most desired question of Arenski Prellarn though he was disturbed by the answer. “Where may I find the remaining of Rofirein’s good kin”

Dragons –

It is hardly surprising that Quintayne is fascinated and awed by the metallic dragons. He has devoted his life to a gold dragon. He believes whole heartedly that he will be able to find the metallic dragons that remain still within the world. Hidden from all and sleeping, waiting for their call, waiting for when they shall be needed by the people. Such noble creatures would not abandon them. Surely if Chromatics remain within the world their metallic brethren must also. Quintayne has gathered together all information he can in the form of books and documents pertaining to the metallics to aid him in his search. He is confident he shall find them and that his faith and persistence shall see him succeed. If only he may find and have them agree to aid us. If nothing else the presence of one would be a great symbol of hope for the people a rallying sign and something to hold on to in these dark times. With this in mind Quintayne had guarded a golden egg until he was able to give it to a great silver wyrm in a chance meeting believing the creature to be the dragon god known only as “Silver” the love of Katia. His hope that Silver may nurture the egg and perhaps, just perhaps, a new life could come of it. The first born of the dragons in a new age.
Quintayne also seeks the relics of Rofirein and his metallic kind that he believes lay waiting to be found by those with good in their heart. It is his belief that such wise and ancient creatures would have foreseen the return of blood and the rise of his generals. Had they seen such would they not leave behind artefacts that may aid the people whom they nurtured and watched over for so long?

These are but a few of the events Quintayne has taken part in. I have no doubt there are many more that are not listed and by no means are they less important or enjoyable.

Ideas for ECDQ –

Kasha and I wish to combine our ECDQ’s as we are both close to the same point and never really play without one another. While this may be challenging for a GM to fit things in that will develop both characters it would be welcome.

Quintayne has done many things and met many souls. He would aid any of them if they once again called upon him to do so. If their cause is just and their heart good.

Just where are those metallic dragons?
What happened to that egg?
Learning more about “Silver”
Rofirein and his faith.
The plights of the seven sisters.
Quintayne’s ancestry – he knows nothing beyond his mother and father.
The high council.
Kasha and the childen.

Honestly I am entirely open to any direction and am sure I will not be disappointed with what you come up with.

Surprise me – in a nice way ;-)

GMs requested to carry out our CDQ –

Leanthar and Seth. – These two GM’s perhaps know Quintayne and Kasha the most and have developed their stories in the past so would be the best choice. Pankoki may also wish to add some input and will be able to fill you both in on the things that occurred on his quests of which we have taken part in most.

Feel free to ask many any questions or elaborate on anything if you wish. There is bound to be things I have forgotten.

World Leader Development Quests (WLDQ's) / Kasha Roswyne
« on: September 09, 2005, 04:28:00 pm »
Kasha Rosewyne
Currently at 20th Level
1,204,033 until 21st

The life of Kasha Rosewyne

Kasha is the only child of Ash and Karin Lyonard. Her father was a very skilled Miner and her mother was one of the finest Gem Crafters in the area. She was closest to her as he treated her as the son that he never had. She was and still is very free spirited and full of life. He introduced her first weapon, a Longsword. He taught her how to use it when she was very young and he was amazed at the rate she progressed in her skill. While she was closest to her father, she spent many hours with her Mother learning the skill of Gem Crafting. She only wanted to please her parents and make them proud of her. One day while Kasha was out practicing with her sword her hometown was attacked by bandits and her parents died in her arms. That day she vowed that her parents would receive the justice they deserved.

With Kasha now being all alone in the world she headed out to find a new land. She wanted to find a place where no one knew her and where she could hopefully find a place where she belonged. She came across a small town called Hlint. She was amazed at what she saw before her eyes. There were open crafting areas in town, an Inn, a Temple and even a Town Guard. She met many people as unique and individual at the town. She thought maybe she finally found a place she could call Home.

Using her skills taught by her parents, Kasha began mining and crafting once again. She made quite a name for herself as a skilled gem crafter as her mother did before her. Her skills for mining were far from forgotten but she had to make a decent living for herself. With her parents being taken away from her she vowed to fight evil and help those who could not help themselves. She would travel through out the lands with almost anyone that would ask her. She has always preferred to travel with a Cleric at her side. One of her very good friends was a gentleman that she met shortly after arriving in Hlint, Dargoth Lighthammer. He would show her around and tell her about the evil that plagued the land. Many times he healed her wounds and brought life back to her body.

One day shortly after returning from the Seilwood Forrest she was resting by a tree when she saw him. A man dressed in armor walking with pride followed by a man dressed in dark robes. She did not know who he was but there was something about him. She had to know more and would do whatever need be in order to do it. She was to shy to speak to him. Later that day she found out who that man was and he told her that his name was Quintayne, Head Cleric of Rofirein. Her emotions stirred out of control every time she was near him. She could not speak a word when he spoke to her other than a simple “Hello”

The day came where he requested her presence. He walked into town with glory and honor. The rain that was falling that day did not seem to affect him in the slightest. Kasha was wearing her finest gown in anticipation of his arrival. She was almost to shy to even speak. She entered into the Courthouse with him and was terrified that he had heard of her feelings for him. To her relief he had not. He had come to ask her to join the High Council to fight the evil in the lands, to help others that could not help themselves. She of course accepted his invitation and still to this day does her best to abide by the Council’s goals.

One day she found Quintayne sitting in town in a somber mood and sat there with him just listening and being a friend. She hated to see him suffer in any way. She spent a few hours with him before returning home that evening. The next day she was sitting by the lake in Hlint and received a message via messenger asking her to join him for the day. She ran as fast as her legs could carry her to Fort Llast where he waited alone for her. As the day drew to an end they sat by a towering waterfall; she could not hide her feelings any more. Never did she imagine that she would find a true love like that of her parents but she did. Since that day they have been together. They spoke their Vows in front of that waterfall in the presence of their friends and Allurial the Queen of Mistone.

Kasha was summoned to return to her hometown. She and Quintayne gathered their friends and headed out to help where they could. Upon arrival she discovered many things were different than before. She found her families plot and began to study the stone and was approached by a spirit which proceeded to kill her. She found herself standing in an area of mist speaking with her father. She spoke with her father for sometime and he told her how proud he was of her skill and of the things she has accomplished in life. She asked him why he was not at rest and he told her that the man that killed him and her mother needed dealt with so they could be set free and countless lives could be saved. Knowing her mission and eager to help Kasha was returned to her body.

She awakened at the grave and vowed to not let her parents down this time. Kasha felt a new strength flowing through her unlike any she had felt before. She fought off the enemies with grace and skill. One would say she was a symbol of deadly beauty. Many enemies fell before her sword. Not without heart, Kasha gave the man that killed her father a chance to surrender and end the suffering of those she loved and cared for. The man wanted no part of this bargain and succumbed to justice. Upon the death of this man the spell was lifted from the town and people were set free of their burdens. She was able to speak to her parents one last time getting their blessing on her marriage and her life up to that point. There was one thing she learned that day...a secret that he father had kept from her since the day she was born. This was certainly not something she expected and not one of her fathers’ finest moments in life, a half-brother.

The Rosewyne family had been blessed by the birth of fraternal twins. The first child born was a girl whom they named Jadaria. The second was a boy whom was named Aurhinius. The moment the children were born time stood still and for a few moments the entire world was at peace. This was something which no one had ever experienced before. Jadaria appears to have a bit of magical ability and loves to read and study with her father. Aurhinius is a bit rebellious and ambitious like his mother. The children are definitely a great blessing by Rofirein and Dorand.

Kasha knows there is a great destiny for her. She hopes to be prepared for any challenge put before her. She believes that perhaps one day she will be able to wield the sword that will put and end to one of the great evils in Layonara. Until that day she continues to make herself and her family proud of her.

//What I would like to see in my epic cdq. She will be becoming a Weapon Master at 20th or 21st level. Quintayne and Kasha will be doing their quest at the same time. We are still working out what we would both like to see. I think Kasha’s alignment should be shifted so she is LG. The GM’s we would like to run this are Leanthar and Seth.

World Leader Development Quests (WLDQ's) / Arestes
« on: September 09, 2005, 04:23:00 pm »
Character Name: Arestes
Current Level: 20
EXP to Level to NEXT level: 800k to level 21.

- The Bio:
Go here to see Arestes’ initial bio.

After Arestes arrived in Hlint, he didn’t really know where he would fit in. But he made a few friends regardless: Zaraun, Tarradon, Serenity among them. The Red Light Goblins, lazy Orcs and Hooked Horrors all had regular lethal visits from Arestes and Zaraun.

Arestes had forgotten about his latent abilities then, for he repressed them as a bad memory of his past and did his best not to think about them. He didn’t tell anyone of his past, nor did he ask of theirs, for he believed it was not his place.
It was one fateful day when he realised that trying to forget about his parents and his settlement entirely was in actual fact insulting their memory, for who was to remember them and their exploits if he was to forget? And so he invited the otherwise cold killer Zaraun to the peaceful Stag Forest and told her all of his past. Remembering his past released his repressed abilities, and he changed for the first time since escaping from the Lich; into the form of a Dragonling.
Time passed, and Arestes honed his abilities as best he could, trying to strengthen his mind, for what could happen to innocents if he lost control?
Even so, Arestes never had the most stable of minds and he would oftentimes sink into depression or guilt, feeling as though he was a failure at a task or that harm that came to others was his fault. Serenity would frequently find him in the Grove of Katia during these times and try to calm his mind.
Serenity was perhaps Arestes’ greatest support then, in the same way the central pillar keeps a building from collapsing. She was to be the cause of a new shape, and of one of his deepest bouts of depression. For it was during quite a heated argument with Serenity that Arestes lost his temper, and his control, and suddenly found himself in the form of a Minotaur, choking Serenity.
Arestes cared for her, and when he learned that she had developed affections for the “normal” druid, Rhizome, he broke, sinking deeper and deeper into depression and hatred.

It was only because of his old friend Tarradon that Arestes managed to regain a purpose of life again. He learned that a Brotherhood had killed Tarradon's beloved, and even though she had been resurrected, she had been cruelly taken from him, and so Arestes promised Tarradon that he would help avenge this. This turned out to be a far grander and deeper plot, dealing with dragons being enslaved into eternal guardian constructs, crystals of great power that could animate the perfect flawless construct, an ancient order of mages called the Arcanists of the Moon whose leader had supposedly lived for hundreds of years beyond what was normal, a small girl predestined to be the centre of all this, the machinations of an evil drow and much much more.
It was only through the effort of many that the puzzles were solved, golems bashed, ancient items unearthed, the girl saved, and the rift to the world of spirits closed before it could be used to bring evil and undeath onto Layonara.
Arestes learned much from this adventure, made many new friends, discovered new shapes and even gained membership in what turned out to be a not-so morally corrupt Brotherhood.

One of the events that led to a new shape in Arestes’ arsenal was when Serenity, Buppi, and he were captured by drow using foul sleeping poison, and stuffed in cages underground. They all witnessed malicious torture and murder of the drow, and with practically no hope for escape. It was only after watching what the drow had done to their own kin that a path of escape became apparent, and Arestes changed into a fearsome Drider.

During further adventures Arestes made yet more friends: Reventage, Brac’ar, Remiel, Athus, Buppi, Hargranar, Kobal, Ozy, Maedhras and more. However, changing shape as Arestes does doesn’t help friendships, as one is likely have a vendetta against one creature or another. So Arestes learned on one fateful night.
He “awoke” in a strange realm of darkness and glowing blue lights, along with Reventage, three strange, mirrored doorways loomed before them.
Through the first door Arestes saw what had become of his home, masses of living dead, and they all blamed him for their deaths. Through the second door Arestes saw Serenity, and through the third he met his Lich nemesis. All the while Rev was panicking more and more due to ethereal shapes of Illithid. Arestes thought it was their mind bending powers messing with them both, but discovered that it was actually himself causing this dreamscape, he had dragged them both inside to witness his own guilt. Arestes gained the shape of the Mind Flayer then, but lost a friend, as Reventage has yet to forgive him for exposing her to her fear of the brain-eating monstrosities, he doubts that she ever will.

Losing a friend to his latent abilities sunk Arestes into another bout of self loathing and distrust; one from which he has never quite recovered. If he couldn't trust his own mind, then how would he be able to protect his friends and keep them safe? Better to keep people at a distance, he believes, because he could be a danger to them.

A chance encounter in a campground, however, gave a tiny spark of hope. A young druid, Maedhras, came upon him one night as he lay sobbing for all he was, deep in one of his depressions. She stopped and talked with him, and in the course of that conversation she spoke of the gift from Katia they both bore. Arestes learned that not everyone would run from his shapes; that there were those who understood, and could still see his soul in his shapeshifting.

Amongst other adventures Arestes has taken part in can be mentioned the Quest to aid the Golden Vipers in their pursuit of the drow, duergar and their fiendish allies, leading as low as the Great Rift, and as high as the very dreams.

Of worthy mention is also the saga of the Dark Angel, which first started as a mistake Tarradon made, when he threw a vial of divine essence at a vile fiend, that fused into a being that we later came to know as the Dark Angel.
It struck back, trying to steal the clergy of many deities and use them to power itself, it also moved to steal the very power of Sielwood forest and corrupt its heart. And though it succeeded in doing so, the forces of nature that the party of many, including Arestes, represented were able to succeed in cleansing the taint of the Dark Angel from the forest. And so the fight began to fight the Dark Angel and its darkness itself, many fiends were slain, but also the aid of fiends was gained. Pyrtechon's temple on the slopes of the Firesteep Mountains was infiltrated to secure a piece of basalt from the sacred statue of Pyrtechon. It was this piece of basalt that Arestes carried for a while which corrupted him; he vaguely began to resemble the dragon he could change into, even when human, and he could speak the language of the Dragons. If it was not for Reventage convincing him to give up the basalt, Arestes might have been in Pyrtechon's fold today. The changes to his normal form subsided, but the draconic language remained.
A chausuble had to be recovered also, and fused with the basalt, celestial and infernal essences, to create a scion of binding that could make the Dark Angel mortal. This plan was but another machination, as this allowed another to rise to power using the scion, with the corrupted undead champion of Toran, Navarre, at its side.
Arestes joined in the assault that Remiel led on Toran's domain to defeat the Dark Angel once and for all, and save Remiel's family in the process. The Dark Angel was destroyed, but Navarre still roams.

All these events and more have shaped Arestes into who he is today …

- The Quest:
What I would like to happen on Arestes’ epic quest is for him to try to hunt down his Lich nemesis. As it was proved on the event (More like dream, really) where he got his Illithid shape, it really eats at him that the Lich is still out there after having done such a horrible thing. So, obviously Arestes would seek to end its unnatural existence once and for all, phylactery and all.
If he succeeds in this, it would of course give him a small boost of confidence, something he is sorely lacking. Also lift a burden of his shoulders, since he feels it was his fault the Lich came and wiped his village out.
Since Arestes has no idea where the Lich fled to after he shifted for the first time, the ECDQ should probably involve searching for it. Since going epic means gaining Undead Shape, I was thinking something along the lines of the Lich being on/involved with, the Forsaken Islands, since any living being going there gets turned into an undead sooner or later. Perhaps Arestes would need the Undead shape to combat the Lich, or perhaps the Lich could just have fled to those islands, that is up to the GM running it, basically.
Since Ed has been running a few quests involving those islands, the assigned GM should probably talk to him, to get a few ideas.

As for GM I’d like to run this, well, Stormspirit (and crew) ran the Illithid CDQ, and knows the character fairly well I would say, he should be able to come up with a suitable story, if slightly evil

As for further epic development, apart from new shapes, will just have to wait and see.

We are looking to make PR a more cohesive thing here at Layonara. If you have something to contribute to the advertisment of Layo please send it to me at Layonara.Online@gmail.com. Leanthar, orth, and I all have access to this account and we will make sure that it is posted in the appropriate places and full credit goes to the person that created it. This way we will avoid duplicate posts or PR questions going to a wide array of people. Also while we hope everyone sticks with us, sometimes real life intervenes and we would like to keep the PR question coming to people available to reply.

Thank you everyone for the time you put into this world and the enthusiasm you bring. We really appreciate all your hard work and creativity.

Forum/Bioware name: IceDragonDuvessa
DM name: Amaris, Death's Harbinger
Characters: Brisbane, Brandeis Aeralaness

Real name: Nicky
Age: 25

Ive been a video game addict for my whole life and a pnp dm for about two years now.

I found my way to Layo through a DnD website and Ive been loving every minute of it...despite my previous proclamations that I would never get hooked on an online game. The work that Leanthar, the coders and the content team have put into this world is amazing and I have been fully addicted since my first night. I am honored to have been chosen as part of the gm team and for the opportunity to be able to give back a little to this all encompassing world. I hope everyone will enjoy the bits I contribute.

I also have to say thanks to Seth who got me hooked on my first night, orth for taking me under his wing as both a player and a new gm and showing me the ropes and to Rhizome who taught me the basics and got me addicted to creature building as well as sparked my interest in dming.

Entry 1:

I am not sure how I wound up here in Hlint or what my purpose holds. I only sought to find my father and now I find that everything I thought I knew is becoming askew. So many new faces and new things to learn, I have even turned from my inherant path of arcane. There is just something so magnetic about the animals and trees I couldn't resist, especially since when I first arrived here the people seemed so cold.... Except for him, he had a grand presence I couldn't resist. In time I met others to offer friendship to but my thoughts of him only grew fonder, silly really I had never even spoke to him with more than my eyes. Then by Katias grace I was offered an opportunity to get to know him... and tonight we spent a beautiful time upon an over look near a pond. It was the most magical time of my life, never have I felt such feelings before. Even now as a run through the treacherous desert, I need to get better with my geography less I get myself killed, I feel inside of me that it is his grace and my lady katia's keeping me safe under such unlikely circumstances. Perhaps the path I thought so inherant was completely wrong or so it seems. *she smiles lightly as she continues running through the manticore laden lands hopeful for the future for the first time*
