Quoting for emphasis as I sort of agree with this.  So far the ability and similar ones have been associated with WLDQ rewards and much higher levels.

Druids ARE able to get this at comprable levels (somewhere around 6 or 9) if they take a feat, but druids should have their own special powers. Also they have to take a feat.

Giving the ability to pixie familiars would still be a fun thing RP wise and think of would you could accomplish on a DM quest with it! To take away lockpicked we really would have to redo all 20 or 40 pixie familiar creatures though.

As for the polymorph pixie, it doesn't really have much purpose as it stands right now. It doesn't seem to be good at anything and it almost always drops your strength below what you're carrying so you're encumbered.

However, giving the pixie form take to the air would give it to a very large portion of the server at relatively low levels. Wizards at level 7, sorcerers at level 8, clerics with animal domain at.. not sure what level and rangers at level 13 or 14.

Not sure how much of an impact that would have on the "special-ness" of the ability.

The invisible wall strikes again!

I ran into this for the first time on east the other day. Dunno if it's a bug in the tileset itself or something that we can more easily fix.

Second quote Michael Dudikoff in American Ninja?

Fixed Bugs / Re: Handaxes not customizable
« on: March 30, 2007, 12:07:02 am »
I've customized a handaxe before (in v2) so it should be possible.

Give it another go. Did you try clicking directly on the customization forge?  Thats the one that should work for it.

If it doesn't work this is a bug.

As long as no one decides to make druid hangouts and paladin lounges in both cities...

Paladins don't lounge.

They vigilantly recline.

There has been some discussion on whether certain characters (for example, Paladins of Toran) should be visiting the Scamp's Mug, as this tavern also contains some Shadonite clergy and may double as a Shadonite temple in some people's opinions.

This indeed has been discussed several times. The official stance is that it's an inn, Paladins can go there without breaking their oaths.

This is true for all the semi-religious-affiliated places in Port Hempstead (The shops and bank in Deliar's "temple" and the craft halls which mention dorand.

It's still a somewhat seedy place and whether paladins should be going there often is  another debate entirely. The point I'm (re)clarifying is that they do not break their oaths to do so.

General Discussion / Re: Open Office
« on: March 28, 2007, 11:01:22 pm »
In Dante's Inferno character encoding is it's own layer of hell.

Edit: I'm a fan of open office as well and not just because it's free, but that sure doesn't hurt. I find that when I use word I spend most of my time fighting with auto-bullets, auto-correct, auto-replace... ad nauseum. In OO it's easier to turn these things of for your section, document or permanantly (and they actually stay off rather than turning on again as soon as they feel like it.)

I reccomend Open Office to people at work (IT at the college I'm taking classes at.)

I also carry it around on my flash drive on campus when I'm going from lab computer to work computer to classroom computer. I like having it with me because it keeps my work environment consistent regardless of the fact that I've used 7 different computers in a day (running windows from 2000 to vista.)

For an absolutely painless portable install of open office for flash drives check out PortableApps.com - Portable software for USB drives | Your Digital Life, Anywhereâ„¢

Other stuff I have on my flashdrive from that site and others:
xChat - chat from wherever)
Firefox - I always have my bookmarks and encrypted passwords for sites
Thunderbird - checkkin' da email
CodeBlocks - for programming on the run
FileZilla - FTP client
Gimp - image editing
WinRar - compression/decompression
7Zip - for when winrar isn't enough
MinGW - compiling on the run
MSys - for doing stuff I probably shouldn't be doing on other peoples computers, er, I mean for make support on windows.

Cost of 1gb flashdrive: $20
Value of being able to work efficiently or waste time properly at any computer I'm at: Priceless

This is a concise post about how to avoid the bug that is the summary of several posts that are back and forth between nwvault and the layonara forums.  Rather than crossreference several different posts I figured I'd just quote Armin's explanation:

Edit: just for future reference I found this post on the 2nd page of comments on the vault. Towers of Dregar: Xora's Vial -- Neverwinter Nights 2 Vault
in fact, I think that link will take you straight to the 2nd page.

Trillian,

the queat is actually bugged in the current version.

*** SPOILERS ****

.

You need to speak to Smiley the half-orc in the inn before accepting the quest and then again *after* you go to the mill for the first time and acquire the diary.

Do NOT speak to the Pinks first, because after this you won't have the necessary dialogue option with Lt. Joseph anymore.

Get the diary, speak to Smiley, then speak to Joseph and you get the "Some dimwitted half-orc in the tavern keeps raving about our "smooshed" victim. How does he know about the murder?" dialogue option. This will set an important variable for later, which otherwise remains missing.
Again, this will be fixed in the update which will be released as soon as real life gives me some breathing room : )

thanks for the reply.. okay i searched the forum "Community Project Support Forum " and found nothing relating to the murder mystery.  I searched every page of comments at nwvault and found nothing helpful there.  There was mention of you e-mailing osmething to someone rather than post it.

Please be more specific where I should look.  Thank you  O.o

The README.txt is still a very common convention. However many people (including yourself apparently hehe) ignore them and go through life quite unaware of their existance.

There is a bug that leaves this quest in an uncompletable state if you do things in a certain order at the beginning of it. I believe the way to avoid this bug is posted on nwvault, if not it's in the Community Project Support Forum here (scroll down a bit on the forums.)

This bug will be fixed with the module update that will be released in the near future.

For your current game I suggest just skipping that subplot for now, but if you really want to solve it there should be instructions on how to avoid the bug in one of the two places I mentioned. I believe they are posted by Lalaith Va'lash.

Re: DMs Spawning stuff on parties to discourage inappropriate groupings

This is not my policy and I don't do it. I believe ooc issues should be handled ooc and IC issues should be handled IC.

If you happen to be talking about a recent ocurance where I talked to someone about this type of thing, I did not spawn any creatures the entire time I was with the party.

I'm not sure if it was the same incident, but I think often it is assumed for some reason that if a party dies somewhere then it must be because the spawn was abnormal, or if the spawn is at all different from what you see every other time that a GM must be maliciously stalking you.

That is usually not the case, and it certainly was not for the recent incident that I was involved in.
