Even though I hear your sentiment Lonnarin, my question always is if someone does not bother to read the handbook and cant put together a reasonable submission, how are they going to RP?

And I think the comment about 3-6 pages submission is unfair. I have seen many "short" submissions be approved without a blink of an eye. But things gets complicated when people want "special" characters and background.

A neutral good human fighter will be easily approved if you keep to the basics. While a lawful evil cleric of Corath is going to need a lot more.

The idea behind character approval is that someone at least give the character some thought and not just put something down to be able to come into the world and then just make things up they go. It is a RP server after all.

Futhermore I dont think the term family server should be seen as we want 8-10 year olds. I think it is rather meant to mean the content on the server should be family friendly. I mean even NWN has a 12+ rating, so I would say you targetting teens and above.

I could hyperlink you quite a couple submission which has been approved without a single comment and others that was approved with very slight changes. And none of them were more than a couple of paragraphs, all less than a page.

Ask A Gamemaster / Re: Question about characters / lvl spread
« on: July 25, 2008, 02:07:58 pm »
Any level splits are allowed as long as you stick to the 5 per class rule by the time you reach level 20. Even though this is not a written rule, I do think one should keep the spirit of the server in mind when deciding how to level in multiple classes. For example, in my personal opinion taking 4 levels of rogue and then 15 levels of figter and then end with 1 level of rogue is kinda borderline. So I always feel that classes should stay close to each other or level in one class and then another. But this is purely personal opinion.

Class mixes are however governed by the type of class. So for example you cannot freely mutli-class druid or monk (as example). Also any prestige classes need to be approved as well as any class changes that was not approved during your initial character submission.

Obviously one has to take into account normal requirements for prestige classes, like the skald one that requires bard.

*A blue clad figure writes the following*

Dark elves are permitted in the city, but a half-orc is arrested outside?

*The same hand helpfully writes a little border, around Drexia's notes, of the word "hypocrite" written over and over*

*Jacchri walks past to the door and reads over the notice after hearing about the mess*

*As he reaches the part about dark elves his shakes his head and starts writing something on a parchment which he then stick over the note about dark elves*

To the coward that posted the comment about dark elves:

If you cant say something and put your name to it, perhaps you should remain silent. Furthermore perhaps you should confirm your facts also before you speak your mind.

Dark elves, same as half-orcs according to the laws of Hempstead are not allowed in the city. However one exception has been made to one dark elf that I am aware of. And she did not enter the city till she was granted permission to enter the city. Also did she not go ahead and wilfully murder two guards who only duty is to protect and enforce the laws.

So the fact of whether the half-orc should be allowed into the city or not is totally irrelevant seeing that he choose to go as far as killing the guards. So all he really did was justify and enforce the reasons behind having laws of not allowing his kind into the city.

So forget about the fact that he was unlawfully in the city and rather remember he killed two guards. For that act alone he should be punished and not defended.

 Jacchri Abianca.

You can make a new posting here.

I would suggest when you post you provide a link to your original submission which can be either found here or here.

Also would suggest you provide a link to your CDT, which are usually here.

Also have seen this before and could read it as if it was normal text.

I think there is one other thing which needs to be in order as well and that is the length of the word. Else you will not be able to read it.

Another thing that makes it possible to read it without issue, is that one's brain also uses predictive reading I think. Certain words would logically follow on others.

 But quite interesting.

Does the 1 yew/mithral item per month guideline apply to guilds? or just the lower to middle class and independant crafters?

This request applies to everyone. Guilds included.

But I have to tell you, dont be fooled, not like these items sell frequently.
I think in Raven Trade we might have sold five yew items in total and I not sure about the mithril, but I dont think we sold much of that either.

YOu will have to revert to pacth 1.68 as Layonara is not compatible with 1.69 yet.
