Quests Ideas and Discussion / Dawn of an Age Time Mixup
« on: March 30, 2006, 01:30:33 am »
Dawn of an Age is starting in an hour and thirty minutes (3am PST, 6am EST), not a half hour as the calendar says. There's an "oops" there or something.

(A good time to look over notes/logs, eh? Eh?)

General Discussion / Those on this morning's Sand Furies
« on: February 02, 2006, 04:56:51 pm »
Heh...right. Trust me, I was tearing at my hair when the connection dropped in the middle of the Acacea/Elder deal and was giving me the standard "invalid password" message that generally occurs when the service has been disconnected. (Which it had been.) The incredibly bad timing could not be had by just anyone, I'm fairly sure... It's a special gift of terrible, terrible time warping that I must have been blessed/cursed with at birth.

Pan gave me the fill-in, so we're going to figure out what went down with the thing they were dealing for. Or something. Sigh.

So, apologies all around to everyone in the party that had to wait around and then go on with much confusion about the whole thing. I'm not really thrilled about it, either.

Leringard Arms Inn and Tavern / Port Hampshire Trading School!!
« on: November 02, 2005, 01:06:00 pm »
[orange]-Acacea sits at the Arms looking at the stack of flyers she got from Triba, and wonders if she's supposed to put them all up, or just a few. She thinks about it for a moment, and figures it's better safe than sorry! And proceeds to make sure the information gets spread. Behind the bar and the merchant tables, beside the door, barely sticking out from couch cushions, and hanging from the back of every bar stool. It's sure to please the owner. What can she say? She's dedicated.-  [/orange]

- Toxicology
**Armaments and Weapon Making soon to come** Classes soon to open. Please send all inquiries and applications for both apprenticeship and teaching positions to Miss Triba Gues (Headmistress). Tuition fees will all be in form of donations to the Temple of Deliar and the Port Hampshire City Rehabilitation Funds.   -- Correspondence can be left at the Deliar Front Office --  ++ Teachers Wanted ++ [/SIZE] [orange] _______________________  OOC Notes:  This is entirely RP School for Up and Coming crafters that will be led by Triba (My main character). Basically it will be a sort of Tutor/Student relationship that will take place in Port Hampshire. This by no means is a way to get free CNR to increase in crafting levels, nor is it a group that will get free items created in the classes. Basically what I hope here is to establish a much needed soul to the crafting system. I hope I get some willing souls to trot along here with me, both as students and teachers. Please PM me with any questions and try to leave this thread only for In-Character replies. Thank you so much. [/orange]

General Discussion / A question.
« on: August 06, 2005, 05:11:00 pm »
Acacea has posted a complaint in character, but as a player I would really would like to know why a character's casual conversation may consist of "Uh so, wanna go smash some orcs?" or something, and yet when an scary looking orc is chasing people through town swinging an axe, that's perfectly normal? I know people have complained about this before, that everyone is absurdly tolerant, but really, looking up to see the spectacle and then going on to chat about where you're headed off to, or walking up to halflings screaming bloody murder for help and saying "Yo" to the orc is just ridiculous. On the one hand, it was fun running around from it trying to get away, on the other, why is this cool with everyone in character?

I'm not trying to "flame" anyone, and am not even talking about the orc, but would like to know what their logic is in this situation...

Wild Surge Inn / To Halflings and Others of Proper Stature
« on: August 06, 2005, 04:49:00 pm »
A colorful young halfling sticks a notice rather low on the wall, and then sighs when she sees where the rest of them are. She drags a chair over and, standing on top of it, posts the message right on top of the others, using her dagger to hold it in place. She leans back to admire her work, shifts her weight from one leg to the other, and promptly falls off the chair. Looking around and seeing only drunks and the hosts of the Wild Surge Inn who probably can't afford to lose a customer who buys so much ale, she kicks the chair back where it was and walks out while scowling in a fashion you can only assume is supposed to be fearsome.

Recently there was a vicious attack on halflings by an orc with a giant axe- the townspeople, guards, and adventurers standing around did absolutely nothing except briefly look at the going ons, and talk about what pelt Johan needed next. This is an outrage! The halflings made a brave stand, but were forced to run for it when the orc bellowed something about heads being ripped off, and were promptly chased through town by the creature, even though it was made clear that they were just trying to get away!

Peace was attempted with ale, but the nasty bugger raised its axe anyway (a complete waste of a good drink, the biggest atrocity of them all!) and surely there would be no one to warn the town if a tall person had not walked up. To save them? No! To sell it things! This is utterly unacceptable even for the Madhouse and Inconsequential Door of Demons! Halflings and children are being run over by giants and attacked by orcs and when they call out for help, they are ignored and forced to watch the attackers being greeted with open arms.

Worse, they will take your ale and attack you anyway, and if that is not a breach of some sacred rule then I don't know what is! Fierce faces can no longer come off when in town, as it is not at all safe for anyone!
