Yes, I'm a Brit, although I did live in Seattle, USA for a year. I started playing RPG's back at the tender age of 14, which means I've been a roleplayer for some 25 years. This fact frightens me a little. I've done most forms in my time, up to and including Live Action RP. I've also a litle experience in longbow archery, and more than a little in Re-enactment - which means I know what it's like to wear real Plate armour, or chainmail, and I've been trained with swords, shields and spears. Be warned, this may effect what I let you get away with in my quests!
I've been told I have an evil sense of humour. I've also been told I'm devilishly handsome. One of these is a lie. YOu decide which.
I have two kids, and an understanding partner - who also plays here. The latter is probably the only reason I get away this spending so much time around this place.
What to expect on my quests? Hard to say. I'll expect roleplay, and use of brains. Roleplay is why I'm here. Play your character well, and you may get unexpected rewards. Try and cruise along, and you'll get very little. I'd hope to be able to challenge you.
Oh, and I expect you to have fun. Or else.

Just had to take a few minutes to say a big THANKYOU to Ice for this quest. Several weeks of seriously heavy duty Roleplay, playerled events, and heavy brain-wracking, culminating in a quest that kept me on the edge of my seat all the way. And not a dry eye in the house at the end! Well done Ice! The work you put in paid off bigtime, and a big thanks to Nova for invaluable services in the quest And well done the players, for some of the best and most enjoyable RP I've had in a while Funny, I seem to have less hair now though......

A question directed mainly at the GM team, but also in the interest of debate In general terms: Should it be possible, and if so how, for a Paladin of Aeridin to gain access to Animal Empathy? If it is, would/could this include access to the Mass version recently deployed? In specific terms: My own character Elladan is such a Paladin. He feels a strong affinity for nature, and has always be played as such (even before his relationship with Bris!). He has travelled to the Great Oak twice now, including Rhizome's raising to Hierophant/the Silver Veign planting; and journied to the Tol'finor lands. He is frequently frustrated by being unable to pass some animals peacefully For the last 4 months (RL) he has been attempting to learn to speak with animals, much to the amusement of some of those he travelled with. Points have been spent on raising his INT to allow for the additional language slot, and once his journal is ut to date, a request for an Animal Ear will be submitted. Would/should he be able to gain the ability? Is it even possible under game mechanics without taking Druid,Ranger, or Katian cleric levels? Personally, I would think that it makes sense. At least from a RP perspective, but would expect a CDQ or similar to be a requirment. Others may not agree Comments?

An overdue post, but well deserved nonetheless: A big thankyou to Muninn for the Shadow of Blackmouth quest. The whole thing hung together really well, and the atmosphere had me on the edge of my seat by the end. Thanks to the players, too. We seemed to get a team that worked prett well together, even if we had no idea what we were doing! Although, for the next time, we should really try to agree just what "running away" means! All in all, a great time was had. Can't wait 'till the next one! -- Egoober

This is just to say a huge thanks and a hearty congratulations to Muninn on his inaugral quest.
All in all, one of the most enjoyable nights I've had on Layo. A good plot, great use of the toolset (the tracking effects were a wonderful touch). The combats built in severity, leading to fights that had us worried for our lives - but which were managable when we worked together.
Combined with great characterisation of the NPCs, and enough time and space to really roleplay between the battles. And Fireworks at the end!
All in all, an excellent job. Well done, and get busy writing more RIGHT NOW!!!

It has been pointed out to me by a few players now, that my legs insist on vanishing!
That is, when wearing my bronze Full Plate either my complete legs, or just the shins are invisible to other players (they show up perfectly for me).
Removing and re-equipping the armour usually make them reappear.
I get the impression that this is a known Bioware issue, so I'm hoping for advice on a workaround, rather than expecting a fix!
Does anyone have advice as to how I can avoid this problem? Are there particular leg 'textures' to avoid?

A neat ordered hand has penned the following note on the board.. An unprocesed nugget of not inconsiderable value was recently found in Hlint. It will be returned to it's rightfull owner upon request
Said owner to contact Elladan Peters or leave a message with any family member at 172 Blackford Castle. It is requested that any claimant be able to describe where the nugget was lost, and it's exact nature.
