Development Journals and Discussion / Miradel - In Search of Destiny
« on: September 02, 2006, 10:19:28 am »
**A small leather bound book **

Hlint, Mistone

I have arrived in Mistone. I had hoped that as I travelled south and away from the frigid coast of home the climate would have become more seasonable, the warmth return. It is not so. Even so far from Northpoint, the sky remain dark, the chill always in the air as if snow will materialize at any moment.

My wanderings have taken me to a bustling town called Hlint. It is, at first glance, just another village on the road. A closer look hints at problems perhaps even evil about. I was a bit to shocked to find no temple to The Protector within the gates.

My enquiries of where one might be found were met mostly with blank stares. Then one, a cheerful halfling by the name of Maple, bid me to look in a vast forest nearby that the locals call the Sielwood. I departed Hlint even as she called forth divine protections from Prunilla to guide me safely.

I carefully followed her directions and made the journey deep into this foreboding wood and eventually arrived in a tranquil glade. It is a most worthy location that was chosen to honor The Lifegiver. I have pledged my support to the cleric here and will do all that is within my meagre power to aid them as they might need.

There is one most strange at this temple. The appearance of an orc, horribly maimed, eyes lifeless. The clerics were busy with their prayers so I did not enquire further of this.

General Discussion / Auctions
« on: June 07, 2006, 05:30:29 am »
Thereseems to be a lot of auctions of late for various groups, items. Some are hard to find as they may be in with normal 'offers' to sell.A bit confusing.
Would it be possible to set up a seperate forum: 'Auction Hall' to deal with these ?
Maybe even standardize the post there to include: Date of closing, Who benefits etc .
I don't think this should preclude anyone from advertising elsewhere that thereis an auction(like the Wild surge, Freelancers,Leilon Armsetc.), just handle the 'official ' posting (and bids) inthe new forum.

A simple leather bound book. Inside the cover inscribed in a flowing elven script is:
Amilcn ameanir lilanyma.
Silelanilel anira Filcillnya.
 Lamalas
  Mar 19 1401
Vale, the postmaster of Hlint, bade me to deliver an urgent letter to Ft. Himlad. I longed to once again see the Wolfswood and to consult with the druid so I willingly set off.
As I trekked through the Dinen Forest I happened upon an injured Lion, obviously lost and confused. I bade the Lion to follow me and brought it to a remote part of the Belgaer hills, where it would be more attuned to the habitat. I called upon nature’s help and healed its injuries and then I went on my way.
I found the forest as majestic as I had left it and was heartened to see the vigilance of the Wolfwoods Rangers. I was able to get an amulet of the Great Oak from the druid of the forest. For this I am most grateful.

CNR Suggestions/Discussion / Silver Reinforced Clothing
« on: May 22, 2006, 07:11:30 am »
Would it be possible to have a new type of 'reinforced clothing', one crafted using nuggets of silver ?

Such an item might have stats like: +1 AC vs normal , but +3 AC vs Undead or Werecreatures.

Fixed Bugs / Unable to craft
« on: February 14, 2006, 12:36:54 pm »
I am in the regular craft hall in Port Hampshire. .

When I place the CNR on the station and  try  to craft at woodworking, the menu comes up , but the only option is  'Exit'.

I have since tried the fletching, and all the tailoring stations with the same result .

I have the required cert badges.

Leringard Arms Inn and Tavern / new lease on life

Fixed Bugs / Corn

(Both in  Ft. Velensk and the Outskirts of Hampshire.)

General Discussion / Orion quest
« on: January 01, 2006, 09:40:00 am »
Orion did a fantastic job last night running what I would best describe as a 'mini-quest'.
A good balance with RP and a bit of a dungeon crawl.
It was inventive and challenging, and made the crypts of Hlint a terrifying place ...

and yet we were able to get through it quickly as there were Real Life constraints.

I liked it.

Fixed Bugs / cooked meat
« on: January 01, 2006, 09:32:00 am »
Cooked meat ( from before the update) is being treated as raw ..
ie.. A Fortitude check vs. Disease is being launched..

Have to let Derrick know to get cooking  before we poison half of our customers at the Arms..

Implemented Ideas / Spears
« on: December 21, 2005, 04:56:00 am »
Would it be possible to have higher quality wooden spears added as an item ? ( spears made out of oak , mahogony, yew)

The only spear currently available, as a wood product, is hickory.  To  get a higher quality one, you must then go to metal.
Also: Would\\could a wooden spear be a weapon option  made permissable for a druid ?

Wild Surge Inn / Tower of Strands
« on: December 19, 2005, 06:02:00 am »
*a carefully scribed notice is placed on the board of the Wild surge Inn and the temples of Ilsare and Lucinda .*

To all those who have ventured with me to the “Tower of Strands”:

Much has been been learned, yet much needs to be discussed.  Perhaps we can gather as a group to compare notes and chart a course of action.

Also, now that we know a bit more: Are there clues in the Great Library, or at one of the temples ?

If this be of interest, please scribe your mark here.

// I am thinking of a get together to discuss this quest IC. Also, perhaps a library search if it could be arranged. I am available 12-4 GMT  (7-11 PM EST..GMT +5)

General Discussion / Loot
« on: October 23, 2005, 05:49:00 am »
A question:

Character A is in a fight and kills several monsters or whatever.. bodies are scattered with gold on the ground.
Character B witnesses the fight,(in character he is not so nice rogue or whatever).. and starts looting the bodies.. he's a sleazy guy so this is great RP..

Is this considered stealing ? I know Character A maybe none too happy but ?

Just for Fun / Deaths : both spectacular and dumb
« on: October 19, 2005, 06:53:00 am »
My most spectacular date with the void to date was brought about at the hands of a very angry Yeti. My character was ripped to shreds in an amazingly short time. But he stood and fought and perished..

My dumbest (near)death happened when the tinker machine in the craft house malfunctioned and knocked my wounded character to like 1 HP..
One can never be too careful anywhere !

General Discussion / Jet CDQ Part 2
« on: October 16, 2005, 09:46:00 am »
Had a great time on the second installment of this CDQ. Lots of twists, turns and just a lot a fun.
Only downside was that I picked up a Death Token, but a small price to pay for learning a lot.

 Kudos to Dezza.
